Chapter 19

"We as humans were born on earth and we had never in our wildest dreams considered that there will be a time when we will have to live without it, at least not in our lifetime. Earth, other than its usual purposes has been playing an evolutionary role in every expect of our lives. For example, Gravity. We take gravity for granted: it existed, always and we never notice it." Daniel paused. It felt like he was arranging his thoughts.

"But in space, whatever we build, we need to create gravity artificially for it. If we take this huge mass with us in space, it will help us generate more consistent, more stable gravitational field with much more ease." Daniel smiled.

"Similarly, think of earth as an environment recycler. You take things from earth, alter them for your needs, use them and lastly dump them back on earth. What will we do in space? We will have to find everything. Once found, we will alter them, use them and then we will have to throw them back in space. But if we take earth with us, the cycle might get easier." Daniel flowed.

"Similarly, what about plantation. Sure, we have been able to plant trees in our artificial systems in space. But for how long and how are we going to consistently maintain them. Solution: simply take earth with you."

"These are major benefits of the process. What about plumbing in space? It will make easier to construct buildings; maintaining high speed in space; Weapons and Factory installation; Maintenance and change in design of the ship, balancing the spaceship itself and staying safe from the radiations in space." Daniel exhaled.

"I cannot emphasize enough on how considerably beneficial this complicated and difficult procedure will be for us in the far away future." Daniel explained.

"Saans has not disclosed any details about design of the ship. Are you strategically hiding the design from your perspective competitors?" One journalist asked.

"There are no competitors, only allies. Saans is willing to work with any companies, governments, organizations, religious cults, and groups across the world as long as they share our objective of saving humans from the upcoming disaster. In fact, we are working on a digital platform that we will launch before next UN General Assembly Session. Through this platform we will share all our research data gathered here and in space with the whole world." Daniel announced. Hall became a little clamorous.

"We will request all the associations and powers to join us on the platform. This is not the path where we can walk alone or in fact, no one will survive this journey on their own. We need to be united to escape the forthcoming tragedy. I will repeat what President Mathew said in his speech." Daniel paused.

"It is the time when we should come together as a force; It is the time when we should forget about race, religion, boundaries, culture, language and even our histories; It is time when we should focus on our future; It is time when we can decide the fate of our children and their children and their children and so on; and It is time when we decide whether we live or die." Daniel looked intense.

"You did not explain anything about the design of the ship." Next journalist questioned.

"Sorry. I just got stuck with…. Sorry." Daniel apologized.

"To be honest, design of the ship is ready. We did not share it because it will change with every passing day. As we advance in technology and our shipbuilding commences, we will discover newer truths and every truth will lead us to change in our plans to adapt new realities." Daniel explained.

"However, I can give you a general idea. The ship will have sand floor as you already know. It will have shape of a Recurve Bow; just like when Archer loads the arrow and pulls the string. The wings of the ship will not have any sand in them. Buildings will have maximum of three floors. Each building will have supply of air. Buildings will be constructed with the materials to keep its inhabitants safe from radiations. There will be no open pathways. Pathways will be either underground or covered if above ground. What else…." Daniel pondered.

"The ship will have area of 100 million square kilometers. Half of which will be inhabitable and constitute main part of the ship. Ship will be powered mainly by Solar and Nuclear power. We have named it "Mother Earth 1". We will disclose other details from time to time." Daniel explained.

"Mr. Daniel, you are an American. You were born in United States of America. This country made you the richest man alive. It gave you freedom and home and respect. This country made you capable of what you are doing right now. This is the moment when same America needs you the most. It is the payback time. It is the time when you can return what you owe to this nation. And at this time, what did you do? You chose the countries and regions and people; your parents came from. Isn't this wrong? Isn't this treason?" Lisa exasperated emotionally. The mood of the hall became more serious and intense.

Daniel paused a little. He sighed and sat up straight.

"As always, you are blunt and straightforward with your words, Ms. Lisa. Every word you have said is right and I agree with it except for the part where you said treason. Yes. I am an American and I am proud of that. Yes, I owe everything I have, to this country and its people. Yes, I know that it must seem wrong and selfish and like treason from where you are standing. If I were you, I would hate myself as well. You have every right to be angry." Daniel started softly.

"But for a moment think about it." He paused again.
