Two months with friends

Dec. 6th (Sunday)

Autumn came and went, making way for winter. The leaves quickly fell and now no tree had color.

Just like the season, my relationship with Aseo changed. We are still friends, however, we spend more time together. Ezial is still the same and so are my parents.

If I had to pick the most memorable moment from the past two months it would be Halloween. Of course, the beginning of Sept. was great, but the ending of October was too funny to forget.

Aseo and I held a halloween hangout at my house since my parents were gone. The memorable moments ranged from a clumsy Aseo to a beat up Ezial.

The hangout began as a big get together with both of our groups of friends. We played cliche games and drank an unhealthy amount of soda. Everything was going well, until Ezial brought his "friends"; he brought triple the amount of people already at the house and the hangout turned into a party.

The party went to hell as even more people poured in. Everywhere you looked were drunk teens, strangers making out, and gross scenes. Aseo, our group of friends, and I all started to panic. We didn't know how this would end and my parents weren't supposed to be gone the whole night, they'd be back early, early morning.

We decided to wing it when my parents came back, which turned out to be earlier than expected.

All of us went to my room and played around in there. Though, it all came to an end when we heard police sirens. I told everyone to stay and ran downstairs, stopping in my tracks at what I saw.

In the middle of the room was Ezial, everyone but his close friends had left. One friend decided to play loud police sirens on his phone as a prank; Ezial didn't like that. He was already drunk out of his mind, so he took a swing at said friend. The fight lasted a couple of punches, but that was all it took for Ezial to lose.

The friend was pretty drunk as well and all the moving caused them both to vomit. It went straight out of their throats and onto the floor.

I ran back upstairs and told everyone it was time to sleep, until we saw my parents' car pulling into the driveway. As a last minute decision, I looked at the person closest to me in the eyes and yelled run. We grabbed our phones and made a break for the window.

To be honest, I have no clue how we all made it down, but we did. Afterwards, we sprinted to the park and then spent the night at Yune's house; Yune's parents were on some type of trip.

The next morning I told my parents that Ezial invited some people so I slept over at a friend's house; It took my whole being not to laugh, especially since Ezial remembered barely anything from the night before.

I told everyone about it later in the day and we all laughed.

It felt good being around so many people.

That was another thing that had changed, my friends and Aseo's friends were getting along very well. We all often hung out together, or hung out with someone in the other group, that we were practically one friend group.

I lay in bed, smiling at these memories and thoughts. I decide to call grandma since I'm in such a good mood.

She picks up after the first ring.

"Hello, my child, how are you?" she asks, and I can practically see her smile.

"Hi gran! I'm great. How are you?" I respond.

"Why, I'm pretty good as well. So, what's been going on?" she asks another question.

My excitement can not be contained as I eagerly share the past two months with her. I tell her about Aseo and becoming friends again, about being sad and getting cheered up, the whole party incident, and more. I tell her of the great dreams I've had, and of the wonderful memories I've made.

"So much has happened in the past two months, gran, its crazy!" I exclaim.

Grandma laughs and I can tell she's happy for me.

"I'm glad you're getting along well. I don't remember the last time you were this happy. As always, Aseo sounds great and I can't wait to meet him." she says.

"Yeah, he is." I smile softly as a picture of said boy pops into my mind.

"Say, christmas break is soon. Why don't I come for a visit?" I suggest and grandma doesn't hesitate in agreeing.

I laugh a little and decide it's time to go.

"Well, gran, I think it's time I go. We've been talking for two hours; you should get some rest."

"Oh my! I never noticed. You should rest too, and take good care of yourself. I love you, ok? As for Aseo, love works in wonderful ways, whether now or later."

"I love you too, bye." I hang up the phone, but her last words linger in my mind,

"I hope you're right, gran." I softly say to myself, holding the phone close to my heart.

"Soul! Time to eat!" I hear my mother yell.

I walk downstairs and decide to dine with them; this is also a good time to ask about visiting grandma.

Halfway through the meal I decide to ask.

"umm I was wondering if I could visit grandma during christmas break."

"Of course you can" both my parents say.

"But, please let us pay for the expenses. If you don't want to accept, consider it a christmas present" my father says while smiling. I smile a big one and hug both of them, thanking them repeatedly.

Over the last three years, and especially the last two months, my relationship with them got better. They are really great people, once you get to know them.

I sit back down and suddenly realize Ezial isn't here.

"Where's Ezial?" I ask and both my parents stop eating.

It's silent for a while until my mother speaks up, "We don't know. He hasn't been talking to us that much. Have you noticed anything different about him?"

"No. Why?" I ask confusedly.

"Well, he just…he hasn't been the nicest to us. He's probably with his friends right now. Maybe he's going through something. We just hope time will tell." my mother finishes. I can't help but feel bad.

"I'm sure he's fine." I say with a small smile, trying to reassure them both.

With that, I finish my food and spend my time peacefully.
