Early in the morning, Mika wore her gym uniform; she was eating breakfast and watching the news on TV. "It's that time of the year, folks!" the news reporter shouted.
He pointed to a picture of the U.A. stadium shown on screen, "Today is the one, the only... Sports Festival!" he shouted, "That time of the year where we get to see aspiring heroes show their might as they try to be number one."
As he showed a reporter outside the stadium, Mika continued eating her breakfast. As Yuma walked towards Mika, she noticed the holes on the back of Mika's gym uniform.
Yuma tapped on Mika's shoulder, making her turn to her, "*When did you get a new gym jacket?*" she signed. Mika looked at the holes on the back of her gym uniform.
Mika looked back at Yuma, "I got it yesterday." she said, "Apparently my gym uniform was supposed to have two holes on the back for my Quirk." Yuma nodded, "*Are there similar holes like that on your school uniform?*" she signed.
Mika nodded, "The shirt part of my school uniform has holes on the back, but they're covered by the blazer." she said, "I'm guessing it's in case I have to use my Quirk in dire emergencies, but I'm not sure."
Yuma nodded and looked behind Mika; she looked back and saw Saburo in his police uniform, "Are you nervous about the sports fest, sweetheart?" he asked.
Mika looked down and nodded, "A little... I'm not sure how well I'll do." she said. Saburo smiled and patted Mika's head, "You'll do great, hon." he said, "Win or lose, your mother and I will be very proud of you."
Mika looked at Saburo and smiled, "Now then, let's hurry and get to the sports fest!" he shouted. Mika nodded, "Right!" she shouted as she got up and they left the apartment.

Mika stood at the front of the stadium, looking at the security for the sports fest. Mika turned to her parents, "Are you working with the security for the sports fest, dad?" she asked.
Saburo nodded, "Yep." he said, "I'm one of the commissioners in charge of security, so I won't get to see you at the stadium a lot." Mika nodded, "That's understandable." she said lowly.
Saburo smiled, "Don't worry, Mika." he said, "I'm sure that I'll get to see you perform in the break room; plus, your mother will watch you in the stadium." Mika smiled a bit; Yuma wrapped her arms around her, making her look at her.
Yuma smiled and held her hands out, "*Do your best, okay.*" she signed. Mika smiled as she turned to Yuma and hugged her back, "I will." she said.
When they separated, Yuma kissed Mika's forehead, "*Take care; I love you.*" she signed. Mika smiled, "Love you too, mom." she said; she waved her parents goodbye as they entered the car and drove towards the parking lot.
"Were those your parents?" Mika turned around and saw Izuku; she nodded, "They were." she said. Izuku had a big smile, "I didn't know your parents were the Mimic hero: Fantasia and the Weapon hero: Weapon Man!" he shouted with excitement.
Mika was shocked, "You know of my parents' hero days?" she asked. Izuku blushed a bit, "Sort of..." he said, "I saw them working together in old videos and very old news articles about them."
Izuku looked down a little, "They were an incredible hero duo, but there was an incident that caused Fantasia and Weapon Man to retire early." he continued.
Mika nodded, "I'm not sure of it myself, but my father told me that my mom used a hearing animal trait for too long on a rescue mission, causing her to go deaf." she said.
Izuku panicked, "I-I'm sorry, I didn't-" Mika raised her hand, making him stop, "It's alright, Midoriya." she said with a small smile, "I'm just glad that it didn't become worse."
Mika rubbed the back of her neck, "After the incident and retirement, they decided that they wanted to be together forever and start a family." she continued.
Mika looked at Izuku, "When I was around seven, my father taught me sign language so I can communicate with my mother." she said. Izuku was surprised, "Is that why you can understand Koda so easily when he uses sign language?" he asked.
Mika nodded, "I sometimes understand him through body language, but it's nice when we have conversations in sign language." she said, "Other than that... people use me as a translator, but I don't mind."
Izuku smiled a bit, "Either way, it's nice to see some old-school pro heroes." he said, "And if you weren't here, I don't think most of us would understand Koda when he uses sign language."
Mika nodded, "You know, I can teach you guys how to use sign language." she said. Izuku lit up, "You would do that for me." he said. Mika smiled a bit and nodded, "We are friends, right?" she asked rhetorically.
Izuku was on the verge of crying, "You're so kind." he said. Mika smiled and walked towards the front, "Come on Midoriya, let's get ready for this sports fest." she said. Izuku wiped his tears away and nodded, "Right!" he shouted as he walked next to Mika.

After the security check, Mika looked around and tried to find their waiting room. "Over here, Lyoko!" she turned around and saw Izuku waving his hands near their waiting room. Mika nodded and ran towards Izuku's direction.
When Mika caught up to Izuku, he got his notebook and pencil out and looked at the back of her gym uniform, "I never got to ask you this, but what are the holes on the back of your gym uniform for?" he asked. Mika looked at Izuku, "They're for my Quirk." she said.
Dove wings came out of Mika's back, shocking Izuku, "If I wanted to activate an animal trait or a hybrid form with wings, I need free space in my back area for them to sprout." she continued, "If I wore normal clothes, my wings would tear them up."
Izuku looked at Mika's wings with a big smile as he wrote new information down. Mika deactivated her Quirk and opened the door, "Midoriya, Lyoko." they were greeted by Tenya, "It's good to see you two."
They nodded and walked inside, but Tenya stopped Mika; she looked at him, "There is something we need to talk about." he said.
Mika tilted her head, "What is it?" she asked. Tenya gave Mika a piece of paper with writing on it. Mika was confused, "What is this?" she asked.
Tenya looked at Mika, "It's your Support Item Clearance; they've accepted your request." he said, "All you have to do is show this to the armory and you can get the Normalizer from there." Mika smiled, "Thank you, class rep." she said; Tenya nodded, "Always happy to help!" he said.
Before Mika left the room, she noticed Koji walk towards them; she turned to him, "Wanna to tag along?" she asked. Koji nodded, "Guiding your classmate to the armory, Koda. That's a brilliant idea!" Tenya shouted with some hand gestures, making him flinch.
Mika smiled, "I think that's very sweet of you." she said, "I like guys that are gentleman to other people." Koji blushed a bit, "Let's hurry! I want to get my support item." Mika said; he nodded as they left the room.

Mika followed Koji towards the armory, "Hey Koda, I was wondering about something." she said, "Did you look around the area before I got here just so you could guide me?"
Koji looked away from Mika and blushed a bit, "I-I did..." he said lowly. Mika smiled, "You didn't have to do that, but I appreciate the company." she said.
Koji's face got redder; he looked forward, "T-There's the a-armory." he stuttered as he pointed towards it. Mika looked to where Koji was pointing and ran; he followed behind her and they faced a booth for the armory.
There was a woman behind the glass looking at them, "Can I help you two?" she asked. Mika nodded as she showed the woman her form, "I have a Support Item Clearance for my support item." she said. The woman nodded and held her hand out, "May I see it?" she asked.
Mika nodded as she gave her the paper to the woman. The woman looked at it, "Mika Lyoko, correct." she said, "And your support item is a collar called the Normalizer?"
Mika nodded, "That's right." she said; the woman nodded, "Alright, give me one second." she said. As the woman got out of her seat, she looked around in the back.
As the woman found the Normalizer, Mika smiled, "Here is your support item." she said as she held her hand out with the collar. Mika nodded and grabbed the Normalizer, "Thank you, ma'am." she said.
The woman nodded, "You're welcome, I hope you two do good at the sports fest." she said as she waved goodbye. They waved goodbye and headed back to the waiting room.
Mika tried holding her hair up and putting the collar on, but it was difficult for her, "H-Here, l-let me." Koji said as he lifted her hair off the back of her neck.
Mika smiled a bit, "Thanks Koda." she said as she put the collar on. Koji blushed a bit and nodded, "N-No problem." he said as he let go of Mika's hair; she smiled as they headed back to the waiting room.

In the waiting room, Mika sat at a table with Koji, Mezo, and Fumikage, "It's a shame that we can't wear our hero costumes for the tournament." Mezo said.
Mika nodded, "However, it makes sense." she said with her elbow on the table and her chin on her palm, "The hero course students would be at a huge advantage if they wore their hero costumes. Hence why all of us have to wear the gym uniforms."
Mezo nodded; they heard the door open and turned towards it, "Everyone! The event is about to start, so everyone needs to be prepared!" Tenya shouted while making hand gestures.
Fumikage turned to Mika, "Are you ready for this?" he asked; she nodded, "As ready as I'll ever be." she said. "Hey Midoriya." Mika turned her head towards the conversation between Izuku and Shoto. Izuku looked at Shoto "What is it, Todoroki?" Izuku asked.
Shoto stared at Izuku, "Objectively speaking... I'm stronger and more capable than you." he said. Izuku flinched a bit, "Y-Yeah." he said. "But... you have All Might by your side." Shoto said, "I won't ask about it right now, but... I will beat you."
The room went silent, until Eijiro walked towards Shoto, "Hey man, why are you picking fights now! We're about to-" As Eijiro placed his hand on Shoto's shoulder, he swatted his hand off, "I don't care, I'm not pretending to be friends with everyone." he said.
Izuku looked at the ground and clenched his fists, "You're right." he said, "You're stronger than me and I can't measure up to most people in skill." Mika looked at Izuku, "Midoriya, you don't need to be hard on yourself." she said.
Izuku shook his head, "It's fine." he said; he looked at Shoto, "But the other courses are aiming for the top too." he continued, "And I will not fall behind; I will get to the top with everything I got."
Everyone stared at Izuku, "Why can't this be normal for once?" Mika said. Mika sighed and looked down, "This'll kill me someday." she mumbled.
"You're not alone in that department." Mika turned her head and saw a mouth from Mezo's dupli-arm, "But Midoriya has a point; we're all aiming for the top. We have to show them what we're made of."
Mika nodded, "You're right... let's do it." she said with determination. Afterwards, they left the waiting room and headed towards the field.
