"There he is." Jeremy said, pointing at my grandad, "Do the rest, I have to leave."
I smiled and nodded as Jeremy left, I opened the sliding door leading to the back porch, I slowly approached grandad, gave him a tap on his shoulder
"Surprise grandad!" I beamed, as I raised my hands up.
He turned around and gave me a bear hug instantly, "You're here!" He said, as he pulled away. "I thought you would leave without saying goodbye."
I laughed, "You thought wrong grandad." I replied, "Something came up and got us a bit delayed."
"Oh, what was it?" He asked earnestly, "Was it your mother?"
I nodded, "Yes, but it was nothing serious." I responded.
Grandad glared at me, "I know what you look like when you're lying." He said as he pointed at me, "Let's go inside and grab coffee. Include your friend as well."
Kody and I followed grandad inside, "You should've never lied." Kody whispered.
I pinched his leg, "It's facts." He whimpered, as he was caressing his leg. I glared at him, "Okay², I take it back."
Grandad led us to the living room, he called one of his butlers over and requested coffee for us.
"Please, have a seat." Grandad said.
Kody and I took a seat, a puppy came by and Kody got distracted by it. He used to have a puppy, but then it died due to a tumor.
"Can I pick him up?" Kody asked, "He's so cute."
"Yes, you may." Grandad replied, "His name is Tucker."
Kody picked up Tucker and played with him at the front porch. Grandad and I started the conversation right after Kody left.
"So tell me," Grandad said, "Why did your mother show up?"
"I don't exactly know what the reason is." I replied, "but father told me she wanted to have a word with me."
"I'm guessing." Grandad said, as he sipped his coffee, "She tried to reconcile with you."
I nodded,"Yes she did try." I replied, "But I rejected it."
Grandad nodded, placing his coffee back on the coaster.
"Are you in love yet?" He asked, "are you interested in someone?"
Wow, that escalated quickly. He's usually like this, teasing me about relationships. Yes, I am currently interested in someone. That someone is my self, single all the way.
As far as I know, "Love" is pathetic. It's a preposterous way of devoting your time and effort for nothing. Yes, nothing. Proof? My parents.
"But we were just tal— IT'S ALMOST 11:30" I yelled, glancing at my watch.
"Sorry grandad, but we've got to go before we miss our flight, love you!"
I gave him a one tight hug and immediately ran off towards the door, grabbing Kody on the way.
"Who's a cute lit—AAAAHHH!!" He yelled as I dragged him away from Tucker, toward his car, "TUCKER!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
"WE'RE GONNA MISS THE FLIGHT!" I yelled back, "NOW LET'S GO!"
Kody and I got in the car, we buckled up and then he immediately turned the engine on and drove off towards London Heathrow Airport via road M4 and A4
It only takes twenty-eight minutes to get to the airport and it has light traffic, so we wouldn't be worried about getting stuck in a traffic jam.
When we were on road M4 and A4, there were only a few cars, meaning we can cruise our way going to the airport.
"Step on the gas." I said, as I looked at him. "The road is spacious."
"You asked for it." Kody replied.
A short trundle on the motorway, he then shifted to 4th gear and pressed harder on the accelerator.
"Hang on!" He shouted, "Here we go!"
"AAAAAHHHH!!!" I shouted back, "WE ARE GOING TO DIE!! SLOW DOWN!!"
"NOT YET!" He shouted, "WOHOO!!"
I looked at him, shouting back. "WOHOO?! ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS?!"
"I'M HAVING FUN!" He shouted.
"SLOW DOWN FOR PETE'S SAKE!!" I shouted back, "KODYY!!!"
"OKAY, I WILL." He shouted, "HOLD ON!"
We were cruising along the road, as in we were burning rubber to get there in time. As we draw nearer to a curb, Kody changed down to 3rd gear and jammed on the brakes then to 2nd gear as he hanged a right.
"That was fun." Kody said, as he looked at me smiling, "You don't seem...fine."
I put my hand over my mouth, the nausea clawed at my throat, I tried my best to force down the bile, but I failed.
Kody immediately opened the window and I hurriedly stick my head out, puke coming out of my coughing, choking mouth, it had dropped on the road. After several minutes of puking, i felt relieved and the nausea had left. I put my head back inside and rest my head for a while.
"Give me a tissue." I requested.
Kody grabbed the tissue box from the glove compartment and gave it to me.
"I said a tissue, not a tissue box." I said.
"Just take all of it." Kody replied, "You're in a need of it too."
I grab a tissue and wiped it on my mouth where the puke smudges are located, luckily there are no stains on my clothes.
We arrived at the airport 45 minutes before our plane leaves. We hurriedly grabbed our luggage from the car trunk and gave the car keys to Kody's valet.
"Liam, take the car home." Kody said, "Tell them that I've left for Philippines."
Lian nodded, and hopped inside the car then drove off.
"Let's go, our plane is about to leave." I said.
We entered the airport, there weren't that much people, not the usual busy airport cause it's already evening. All I could hear was the announcement of the arrival and departure of flights.
The only airline that flies directly from UK to the Philippines is Philippine Airlines, which flies from London Heathrow Airport to Manila. The flying time from UK to the Philippines is 14 hours and 7 minutes. It's gonna be a long ride and probably I'll get jetlag which I do most of the time.
We hurriedly ran towards Terminal 3 Departures – First Floor, Philippine Airlines uses Terminal 3 in this airport that we are in.
As soon as we arrived at Terminal 3 Departure, we checked in our luggage and then ran towards Gate 10 and gave our ticket.
Then we ran across the jetbridge and got greeted by the stewardess waiting by the plane, we went inside trying to find our seats. Kody and I were in a first class flight.
The seats weren't just any normal seats, they were beds and it felt so fluffy and comfy.
One bed was positioned near the window and it's always my favorite spot. I think that is everyone's favorite spot, Kody even tried to steal it from me.
"Hey, that's my seat." I warned.
"Nope, it's mine now " I replied.
"Want me to puke all over you?" I said, as he transferred to his bed, "That's what I thought."
We both got comfortable and was treated with care by the cabin crew. 10 minutes later, we finally departed.
Kody already fell asleep whilst having a towel covered on his face. I grabbed my airpods and put it on and played some soft music and eventually I fell into deep sleep.
