. . .
Zeirenne who just got out of the shower, still wearing her bathrobe, heard a knock on the door.
She opened the door while drying her hair and she was greeted by Jin who had his eyebrows furrowed.
"Oi, long time no see." She greeted him.
"How could you possibly open your door at midnight. Not to mention... wearing a bathrobe."
Zeirenne looked at herself. "Why? What's wrong with bathrobes?"
He could only sigh. Dylan was right.
"What if I'm a bad guy, you'll have to tackle me wearing that?"
"Oh don't worry. Look," Zeirenne parted her robes to reveal her cute little PJ underneath.
"Why did I even bother..." he whispered to himself before handing a box, "Here."
Zeirenne took it from his hands, "What's this?"
He patted her head before walking to his door, "Midnight snack."
She opened the box to reveal a small chocolate flavored cake. There were cute choco bears on the top and some expensive chocolates on display.
"Wait," she stopped him from entering his room, "Have you ever been on the rooftop?"
Jin furrowed his brows.
"Help me eat this," she said while holding the box up.
* * *
Zeirenne brought Jin inside the rooftop and he let his eyes feast on the midnight scenery. The clear sky above flaunts a bright moon. When Zeirenne pressed for a switch, hundreds of lights formed into a pathway leading towards a greenhouse.
"That's a nice greenhouse," he said and she nodded with pride.
There were various plants inside the greenhouse. Lights were decorating the trees, giving it a fairytale glow. As the colorful flowers bloomed inside, everything made its way toward the center of the room. A small table was sitting at the heart of this mini forest.
"Wow, " Jin marveled, "You keep such a great collection."
Zeirenne smiled while placing the box on the table. She disappeared for a minute and upon coming back, was already bearing a small tray with tea cups and plates.
"Welcome to Zeirenne's Botanical Graden, " she said, acting like a first-class butler from a high-end restaurant. Even pulling the chair for Jin, but in her pajamas.
Jin smiled while shaking his head. He squeezed Zeirennes's nose before taking a seat, "My pleasure."
After settling themselves down, Zeirenne immediately sliced the cake into sumptuous portions.
"Are you alright?" Jin asked while she was finishing her task.
She furrowed her brows before nodding her head, "Yes. Why?"
"I heard you received all kinds of stuff."
She shrugged and continued doing her slices before saying her thing, "It doesn't really matter."
Jin tapped the table to catch her attention, "Excuse me, Young Miss. This is not a simple matter we should overlook. You're literally receiving death threats."
She avoided his gaze, "Tsk. Dylan you brat... "
"Zeirenne... " he said with pleading eyes filled with concern.
"Alright alright, I actually pondered on those a lot," she said and he listened in anticipation."
"Let's date."
The world fell sharp in his ears and his face became flushed from her words.
"W-what did you just say?""
"Let's date," she said while holding his marbled gaze, "I said let's date."
"Uhm. Aren't we suppoed to talk about our countermeasures?"
"Yeah," she said while shoving a large serving of cake inside her mouth," That's why I'm telling you that we should date and pretend like we're in a relationship."
"Hmm," his eyebrows furrowed with a playful smirk, "That's not what it sounded like earlier."
Zeirenne almost choked on her sweets, "Tsk. Mr. Yang I'm very serious right now."
She cleared her throat before explaining her side, "At least we can meet whenever we like and they wouldn't suspect anything and if we were to rendezvous for our plans, they would just think we're hiding from everyone else. And I won't be stuck in a sickening love triangle anymore."
Jin nodded, still with a very playful smirk plastered on his face, "Okay. If that's how you wanna justify it then I believe you."
"What do you mean by "believe." I was stating my reasons. I'm not making excuses tsk."
He shrugged. "Well, it's not your fault that I'm too irresistible."
Zeirennes jaw reached the fancy tiles beneath her feet, "Wow! You're so confident, where do you get your compliments?"
Jin couldn't help himself from smiling. The atmosphere, the setting, the time, and of course, the girl in front of him and her words... everything was perfect.
"Should I date your assistant instead?"
Like a glass panel, the atmosphere broke into pieces and Jin was left massaging his temples. "This girl has a knack in ruining all the romance," he said to himself.
"Why the hell would you do that?"
She started over exaggerating her expressions, acting like a teenage girl seeing her idol, "Cause you're so irristible, what if I suddenly fall for your chams? That would be very unethical for me."
Jin clicked his tongue. Everything still tasted sweet in his mouth, but she was blabbing nonsense. A complete nonsense that absolutely ticked him off, "You're not helping."
"Ahahahhaah," she laughed, amused by his annoyance, "Where's Mr. Colton anyway?"
"I don't know."
"He didn't even come up to say hello?"
"Eat your cake. Tsk," he shoved a spoonful of cream inside her mouth to stop her from speaking.
After their small tea time plus mini proposal, they went back to their floor.
"Good night, " he said, avoiding her gaze, "Let's talk about this again tomorrow."
She nodded before pressing her codes. He was waiting for her to enter.
"Okay, see you tomorrow then. Good night."
After closing her door, he smiled. It must've been the sweetest smile he'd ever tasted in his mouth that he felt his face numbing from all the efforts of concealing his delight.
He stepped inside his room, just to immediately slump down on the floor, with his back leaned on the door.
"Zeirenne... " he murmured in a soft whisper, "how am I supposed to restrain myself from now on?"
