. . .
Earlier that morning, Zeirenne came out of her room. Like the usual, Jin was waiting outside, with a bright expression radiating from his usually cold aura.
"Good Morning, " he greeted her, "Did you sleep well?"
"Yes. Why?"
"Nothing."
He couldn't sleep a wink, foregoing sleep just to savor her sweet words as if it was the only thing he ever lived for.
He raised his keys and she nodded. This time, they both decided to go to work together. In the same car.
"How are we supposed to tell our employees?" she said, pondering on the passenger seat, "Should we call for a press conference and let the world know all together? Or should we tell our PR departments first?"
A smile was embedded on his face. His focus halved between driving and the beautiful lady beside him.
"Let's shock the world altogether. I can't wait surprise the world with such a great news."
"Okay."
She reached out for her phone and dialed Dorothy's phone number.
"Hello Dorothy, Can you call for a press conference. Yes. Inside ZA International. Let's use the Media Conference room."
She put the phone down to see him shaking his head.
"Why?" she asked with a confused grin.
"Nothing, you just seem more excited than me."
She rolled her eyes.
They both arrived late at the company because of traffic. They were stuck on the highway for an hour, because of the traffic they caused themselves. Cars from different media platforms were lined up infront of ZA International. To make matters worse, the line stretched even a kilometer from the company. Even the farthest highways were packed with cars rushing into ZA International.
When they finally reached ZA International, the reporters flocked their car upon recognition. People already had their eyebrows raised. With both of them going to work in the same car, this was a predictable reaction.
"Miss Lin, Mister Yang, does this signify something? Are you admitting something now that you're going to work together? Are you two dating?"
"Save your questions for later," Assistant Colton, who also had no idea what was going on, stopped the reporters from swarming the two while pretending like a bodyguard.
When they arrived at the hall, all sorts of cameras were already set up.
"So it's lights camera action again, " Zeirenne sighed.
"We can always make it real if you're getting tired of acting, " Jin whispered in her ears.
She rolled her eyes before sitting on the seat reserved for her. In an instance, she was blinded by the flashing lights.
"Miss Lin, Are you two going out?"
There were so many questions, in all types of format. With the twist and rephrasing, everything pointed into one question, and they both had one answer.
"Yes, we are indeed dating." The crowd gasped, and the cameras clicked even faster. Everyone was flabbergasted. Even Dorothy who was busy making the preparations dropped the mic. There was an ear-breaking high frequency sound that followed but no one cared. They were all focused on the two.
Just behind the crowd, Mr. Gancho watched in horror as his plans crumbled in front of his very own distasteful presence, "F*cking sh*t!"
He was there for a completely different reason. Gripping a flashdrive at hand, he planned on taking a huge some of money from the two CEOs. He decided on threatening to expose their relationship if they don't buy the footage from him. Of course he won't stop from that, he was already formulating lots of vile resorts inside his mind just to find the two CEOs admitting the relationship themselves.
Now, this video is no longer valuable. If you let the public watch this, they'll see two people having a romantic conversation. Everyone will fret around how sweet it sounds and it'll stay at that. There won't be speculations from the mass. It'll work like a fan service video instead of a suspicious footage.
He kicked a nearby chair and the few spectators threw him some gaze before focusing on the topic at hand, "I'm firing that stupid employee of mine," he said before walking out of the room.
"How long have you been dating?" One of the reporters asked.
"We started dating a few days after meeting each other again." Jin answered.
Zeirenne looked at him as she stifled her laughter, "Three days after meeting each other again pffft."
"Meeting again? Does this mean that... "
"Yes, we were school mates during college. We kinda knew each other," he said, practically telling the truth.
"How did you both rekindle your love?"
Zeirenne who was busy stifling her laughter, was hiding her face most of the time. Acting coy and shy when in fact, she was all smiles because she found everything funny. She was amused by how good Jin was in answering the questions. As if he'd rehearsed this scenario in his mind for so many times.
"Miss Lin is blushing!?" one of her employees marveled. Not knowing how her CEO was about to suffocate from keeping her laughter inside.
All of Zeirenne's employees knew how dense she can get. They always drool whenever Miss Lin does business with everyone. "Coincidentally" their CEO have handsome bachelors as investors.
"I know. I'm doubting my eyes too," another employee replied.
Just below the platform, their secretaries were also having their own questions.
"I knew there was something but this is still surprising," Miss Jones said and Dorothy spun her head aggresively.
"You're right! I thought I knew my CEO better too!"
Just like the employees, everyone had a fair share if doubt too.
"Is this all for a show tho?" the crowd murmured but thought otherwise upon seeing Zhi Lin's flushed expression, "Well I guess it is true then."
The conference finished and the two CEOs found themselves in another hot seat moment. They sat on the comfy sofa as their employees waited in anticipation. The PR department from both companies were dreading an explanation.
"I'm sorry to inform you all late. But we are indeed... " Zeirenne took a deep breath, a laughter about to erupt, "dating. Yes we are dating."
Their PR departments have been doing a good job at keeping the rumors stable, they spent all their hours trying to convince people that their CEOs were not dating. And yet they found themselves in the very situation. Therefore, Both Jin and Zeirenne decided to offer their apology.
"Thank you for your hard work everyone, " she said, "Because everyone worked so hard, I'm planning on having a company get together.
The employees showed apparent delight from this.
"Pack your clothes. We're going to Boracay."
