Chapter 5: Darkness Within

Blitz removed his ARC trooper helmet and gazed into the eyes of Ponds. Rage filled inside Blitz's system, not having any remorse on what he thought he was about to do. "Stand down, trooper!" Blitz yelled. Ponds just shook his head but he did put his gun down.

"You were my brother once," Ponds began. "But that all fell apart when you killed my general."

Blitz crunched his teeth together. "Are you out of your mind, soldier? That was years ago and I had nothing to do with it!"

"You're gonna have to come up with something better than that, you foul piece of droid metal," Ponds insulted. With that, Blitz charged at Ponds as if he was a cheetah on its prey. He tackled Ponds, removed Ponds' helmet and commenced to strangle him. Ponds kicked him in the shin, did only so much due to the armor, yet, kicked Blitz off of him.

"Listen to me, I have no idea where you've been for the last twenty years, but I can help you in your troubles, soldier. Trust me. Plus, what evidence do you have that I killed Windu?" Blitz got up and walked a few paces towards Ponds, with no more intention to fight. Ponds just stared into the eyes of the ARC trooper commander. Ponds instantly pulled a pistol out from one of his holsters. This obviously caught the attention of Blitz. Ponds took in one deep breath and exhaled, gratefully, and dropped that pistol. He took out the other one and dropped it too. Both guns created an obnoxious noise when impacted on the ground.

"What have I done?" Ponds fell to his knees. Right when Blitz was about to console Ponds, a gunshot went off from a distance away. It broke the glass that was in the main control room. Down fell Commander Blitz with blood spurting out of his head, landing on top of the other clone trooper he was facing just a split second ago. "What??" Ponds could just let out that. The horrific sound of Slave I approaching where the glass shattered spurred. Ponds slowly moved his head to that direction. Out came Coach.

"Come on. We still have a lot of work to do," he said. There was a pause that filled the air. That pause was interrupted by the sound of other rebel troopers knocking at the door.

Ponds sighed. "Why are we doing this? I mean, what have we to gain by killing other people?" Out stepped Aurra.

"Oh, sweetie. We're the good guys in this galactic war. See, we're doing this to prevent other casualties from happening," Aurra tried to convince. Ponds evidently bought it. The three entered Slave I and took off. That door, that led to the main control room, finally broke down. A veteran clone trooper commander named Fil swiftly entered along with a couple of other rebel troopers. Fil's eyes widened at the sight of Blitz's corpse just carelessly laying on the bloodstained floor. He threw his helmet in disgust and was dubbed the new leader of the rebel forces on Kamino.
