Chapter 1

"Please help, my wife is having a baby, I need a wheelchair for her," worried the man.

"Right this way, can we get a wheelchair?" asked the nurse.

So the nurse brought them a wheelchair and wheeled her into a room and she gave birth to a boy.

"You know we can't keep him," He quietly said to his wife. "We can't give him a life he deserves."

"I know but I wish we could," said the woman crying.

"Me too, but it's for his good, we know financial we can't take care of him, we barely can afford to take care of ourselves," said the man. "When he gets older he will understand why we did this."

So they put him up for adoption. The State took him and put him into the system. He belongs to the state now. As the boy was growing, at a single loving foster mom's home, he was happy, but little did he know it would be his last time staying with his foster mom, he would soon be sent to another foster home.

"Hey Peter, can I come over?" asked his friend from across the street.

"Let me ask," said Peter Wolf.

Peter Wolf ran inside the house.

"Ms. Kacey, can Jared come over to play?" asked Peter.

"Sure he can, and when its time for him to go home, I have some news for you," said Ms. Kacey.

"Okay," said Peter running back outside.

"She said yes," said Peter from across the street.

So Jared looked both ways and ran across the street.

"Hey," said Peter.

"Hey, let's go to the park, or go walk or something," said Jared.

"Oh, okay, let me ask again, come on in," said Peter.

So Peter and Jared both ran to the house.

"Ms. Kacey, can we go to the park," said Peter.

"I don't know, it's getting late, why don't you go and play in your room until its time for Jared to go home," said Ms. Kacey.

"Oh okay, that sounds like a better idea anyway," said Peter.

"Good," smiled Ms. Kacey.

So the boys ran upstairs to Peter's room and started playing.

"So how long do you think you will be here for?" asked Jared.

"Oh I don't know, but I will probably move again soon, I'm kind of excited, I get to see new places," said Peter Wolf.

"Well if you do leave, I'll miss hanging out with you; and playing with you, you are a really good friend," said Jared.

"Thank you, and when I do leave, I wish you well and hope we can stay friends," said Peter.

"Me too," smiled Jared.

So they started playing pirates in Peter's bedroom.

"Peter, Jared's mother is here," said Ms. Kacey.

"Were coming," said Peter.

So they ran down the stairs, they hugged each other and said their goodbye's.

"Are you hungry?" asked Ms. Kacey.

"Yes," said Peter.

"Good I made pizza," smiled Ms. Kacey.

"Mmmm I love Pizza, my favorite," excited Peter.

So they sat at the table and started eating and having a conversation.

"So you do realize I'm a short-term foster parent right?" asked Ms. Kacey.

"Yes ma'am I know and understand what has to happen," said Peter.

"Your such a good boy Peter, I'm glad you came here, so tomorrow morning we're going to pack your stuff because Ms. Shelly is coming over to pick you up and take you to a foster family," said Ms. Kacey.

"Sounds like an adventure to me, new places to see," said Peter.

"That's right, but I'm going to miss you so much, I'm going to put my name and address and phone number in your bag, and I also will put Jared's address and his mother's number in your bag, because I know you two are really good friends," said Ms. Kacey.

"Great, that sounds great, then I can write both of you letters on how I'm doing and what I'm doing," smiled Peter.

"Good," said Ms. Kacey.

Whey they finished eating they started to clean up and go to bed. As Peter was laying in bed he was thinking about a new journey, a new adventure, the moving around all the time it didn't bother him, but leaving good friends behind him he didn't like that too much. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.

The next morning came and Peter was up at 7:00 am.

"Peter may I come in?" asked Ms. Kacey.

"Yes I'm up already," said Peter.

"Good I'll help you pack your things," said Ms. Kacey.

"Thank you," smiled Peter.

So she helped him pack his stuff.

"I wonder what the new family is like?" asked Peter.

"I don't know, I'm sure it will be fun," said Ms. Kacey.

"Yeah me too," smiled Peter Wolf.

Then they heard a knock at the door. So Kacey kissed him on the head and went downstairs to open the door, while he was still packing.

"Hello, please come in, would you like some tea?" asked Ms. Kacey.

"I would love to have some thank you," said Ms. Shelly walking to the table.

Ms. Kacey and Ms. Shelly were talking while Peter was packing and making sure he got all his stuff ready to go. Finally, he looked at his room one last time and walked down the stairs.

"Hi Ms. Shelly," said Peter hugging her.

"Hello Peter, are you ready to go to your new home?" asked Ms. Shelly.

"Yes, but sad about leaving Ms. Kacey by herself," said Peter.

"Oh don't worry about me honey, I'll have another kid to look after real soon," smiled Ms. Kacey.

"You will, so you won't be alone?" asked Peter.

"Yes," said Ms. Kacey.

"That makes me feel a little better," Peter hugging Ms. Kacey.

"Good I"m glad, so are you ready to go?" asked Ms. Shelly.

"Yes, goodbye Ms. Kacey, and thank you for everything you've done for me," smiled Peter Wolf.

"Your very welcome kiddo, don't forget to tell Jared," said Ms. Kacey.

"I won't," said Peter.

Jared was looking out the window and saw the car, he knew that meant Peter was leaving, so when he saw Ms. Kacey's door open he walked outside, looked both ways, and ran across the street.

"Hey, I want you to have this, so you'll never forget about me," said Jared.

"I could never forget about you, Ms. Kacey put your address and hers in my bag, so you'll be hearing from me, I could never forget you, are you sure berry the bear is your friend, you might need him if you get scared at night," said Peter Wolf.

"No, you need him more than me, he'll keep you safe," said Jared.

"Thank you, my friend, I'll miss you," said Peter hugging him.

"And I will miss you, dear friend, you will keep in touch won't you?" asked Jared.

"You know I will, I'll let you know when I arrive there and what is going on," said Peter.

"Promise," said Jared.

"Pinky promise," said Peter.

"Okay," smiled Jared.

"Alright sweetheart, we better get going," said Ms. Shelly opening the door.

"Okay, goodbye Ms. Kacey, goodbye Jared I'll miss you both," said Peter.

"We will miss you to Peter," smiled Ms. Kacey.

Ms. Shelly closed the door and rolled the windows down as she got in the car. Peter and Ms. Shelly waved and drove off.

"I'm excited, a little road trip, so where does this family live?" asked Peter.

"Well they live in Oklahoma," said Ms. Shelly.

"Wow Oklahoma I've never been there," said Peter.

"Yeah it's beautiful, lots of hills and open fields for miles," said Ms. Shelly.
