So they drove to the reservation, they drove to an old abandoned two-story house. When they got there they walked in and saw a lot of blood, and a young Indian boy probably in his twenty's dead on the floor with his eyes opened.
"Awww man, Corgi Rainwater." saddened Walker.
"He was a good kid, never been in trouble in his hole life," said a police officer.
"Just got mixed up with the wrong crowd," said Walker.
The ambulance people came in and put him on the stretcher and covered him up with a white sheet and loaded him into the ambulance and took him to the hospital for an autopsy. Walker and the other police went to the hospital to get more information on what happened tonight. A Native man came out with a clipboard and a pen to take notes.
"How'd Corgi die?" asked the police officer.
"Holes in the lungs, this kid was kicked to death, probably by some steel-toed cowboy boots," said the doctor.
"There were also footprints of sneakers," said the police officer.
"So there were two people involved in Corgi's death," said the doctor.
"Yes, we believe so," said Walker.
"Do you know if he was involved in any kind of drugs?" asked the native man.
"No he certainly did not, he was a good kid," said the police officer.
"Well he must have been in some sort of trouble for him to be killed for it," said the native doctor.
"We will get to the bottom of Corgi's death," said Walker.
So they left the hospital and Walker went to the police station.
"I will see what I can find out in my headquarters and let you know what I find," said Walker.
"Thanks again friend," said the police officer.
"Your welcome," Walker leaving the police station and going back home.
When he arrived home he found the living room lamp was on. But everybody was sleep, so he walks in and turns the light out. He quietly walks into Peters's room and looks at him for second and kissed him on the forehead and walked out and went to bed.
Next morning, it was Saturday morning, Karen was down in the kitchen cooking breakfast, Eagle Bear was drinking coffee on the porch with Walker. Walker was telling Eagle Bear about Corgi Rainwater.
"Mom," Peter coming downstairs.
"Your father is outside drinking coffee with Eagle Bear," smiled Karen.
"Oh good he made it home safe," said Peter.
"Yes he did," said Karen.
"You don't mind if I use the house phone to call Haskel and Martha?" asked Peter.
"No darling you go right ahead," said Karen.
"Great," said Peter dialing their number.
"Hello, Haskel, it's Peter, what did your grandparents say?" asked Peter.
"Oh they said yes, it would be great for us," said Haskel.
"Oh great," smiled Peter.
"Yeah we'll be there around nine, were riding our bikes since we don't have a vehicle," said Haskel.
"That's fine," said Peter.
"Great, I can't wait," said Haskel.
"Me either," smiled Peter.
"I'll let you go, see you soon," said Haskel.
"Goodbye," said Peter.
"Well is it a go," said Karen.
"Yes it's a go, they will be here soon," said Peter.
"That is great, I'll start making a list of snack foods and stuff," said Karen.
"Thanks, mom, that would be great," said Peter.
So Peter ran up to his room to get dressed and came running back down to eat breakfast.
"So you excited about today," smiled Walker.
"Yes I am," said Peter.
"Good," said Walker.
"When they arrive, we can all go on the trail with the horses," said Walker.
"Yeah, that would be fun," said Peter.
"Just be careful you guys," said Karen.
"We will mom," said Peter.
"Its 9:00 am now, so I'll be right back, I'm going to the store to buy some snacks," said Karen.
"Okay honey drive safely," said Walker.
So Karen left the house. Then the phone started to ring.
"Hello, this Walker."
"Walker its Haskel, Peters's friend we just want to let him know that we are on our way."
"Are you riding outside?" asked Walker.
"Yes sir, we are riding our bikes," said Haskel.
"Okay I will let him know, but you two be very careful, especially around crazy drivers," said Walker.
"Oh we will sir," said Haskel.
"Good, I'll let you go now," said Walker.
"Okay, bye," said Haskel hanging up and they continued to ride a mile to Peter's house.
He was looking out the living room window while sitting on the couch waiting. Then he looks one more time and sees them coming down the driveway.
"They're here," Peter got up from the couch and ran out.
"Easy son," smiled Walker.
"Hey guys, welcome," said Peter.
"Peter, oh wow this is so cool, I can't wait to explore this place with you," said Martha.
"Yeah come on, I'll show you my room, and you can put your stuff in my room," said Peter.
So they all ran upstairs and they put their belongings in his room. Peter showed them around the inside of the house and showed them Eagle Bear's belongings that were hanging on the walls in the living room.
"Karen should be back soon with snacks, why don't you show them around the ranch," said Walker.
"That's a great idea come on," Peter running out on to the porch.
