The next morning came, they got up early and got dressed and started walking down the stairs.
"Good morning you guys, did you sleep well?" asked Walker.
"Yes we did, it was nice waking up to birds chirping," said Martha.
"Yes, very peaceful," said Haskel.
"Well I made breakfast, you guys have a seat at the table," said Karen.
So they walked around and sat down at the table.
"So what are you going to do today?" asked Eagle Bear.
"Well I already showed them our favorite spot and from a distance, I showed them your tipi, so now I am going to take them up the mule trail," said Peter.
"Cool, you going to check out that cave," said Walker.
"Yes, " said Peter.
"You guys be careful and watch your horses footing and your own," said Eagle Bear.
"We will, I promise," said Peter.
"Good," said Walker.
Karen brought over plates of bacon, biscuits and eggs and toast and laid them on the table, and they all started eating.
"Please be careful," said Karen.
"Oh, we will," Peter put his plate in the sink.
So Martha and Haskel got up from the table and took their plates over and put them in the sink.
"Thank you for breakfast, it was really good," said Haskel.
"You're very welcome," said Karen.
So they walked out onto the porch and just looked out.
"Wow, this is amazing, you wake up to this every time," said Haskel.
"Yes, it will take your breath your way every time," smiled Peter.
"Wow," said Martha.
"Let's go, Haskel, your horse is in the barn," said Peter.
Haskel ran towards the barn to get the horse, and Martha went with Peter to get her horse. Then they were off.
"I'm so excited, have you been to this cave," said Martha.
"Well not really," said Peter.
"Oh," said Martha.
"Don't worry Martha, it's going to be okay," said Peter.
So they started going up the trail towards the cave. They reached the top and got off their horses.
"Wow, you can see far away," said Haskel.
"I know, its great," said Peter.
"Well let's go check this cave out," said Haskel looking at the cave entrance.
"Okay," said Peter.
So they walked up to the opening and Martha was getting a little scared.
"Should we do this," said Martha.
"Martha, it's going to be okay, here hold my hand and you'll be with me the whole time, we have fully charged flashlights as well," said Peter.
"Okay," worried Martha.
Haskel and Peter turned on their flashlights and started walking into the cave.
"Wow, it's so pretty in here," said Haskel.
"Wow," said Martha.
"This is pretty cool.
So they continued to walk forward. When they were walking they saw red markings, like drawings on the walls.
"Wow, look, drawings of the people who lived here," said Martha.
"Wow, that is amazing, kind of like the drawings on the Grand Canyon," said Haskel.
"Wow," said Peter.
So they continued to walk further until they came to a stop, they could not go any further, that's how far the cave goes.
"That was not too bad, it didn't feel like it took forever to walk it," said Martha.
"No it was a very short walk it seems like," said Haskel.
"Well shall go back to the horses," said Peter.
"Yeah," said Martha still holding onto Peter's hand.
So they turned around and went back to the horse when they got out, the horses were still standing there waiting. So they jumped on the horse and turned them around and went back down. When they got on the bottom they started exploring more on horseback. Then they saw a car pull up into the driveway.
"That's a rez police car," said Haskel.
"Come on," said Peter riding fast.
They arrived at the house and jumped off their horses. Peter ran up to the porch and ran inside.
"Dad," said Peter.
"It's alright Peter, I'm needed on the reservation today," said Walker.
"Be careful sweetheart," said Karen.
"I will look after things here while I'm gone," said Walker.
"I will dad," said Peter.
So WAlker got in his pick up and followed the police car.
"So your dad goes on the reservation?" asked Haskel.
"Yeah when they need him they call him and he goes," said Peter.
"That's awesome and scary," said Martha.
"Yeah," said Peter.
"Come on guys, I made lunch," said Karen.
So they walked inside the house and sat at the table and started eating. Walker arrived at the reservation police station.
"Walker, welcome," said officer Little Bear.
"Thank you," said Walker.
"Any news on Corkey's death?" asked Walker.
"Yes, we may have found the two kids," said Little Bear.
"Oh," said Walker.
"Yes," said Little Bear.
"Well," said Walker.
"We need to disguise someone, we have a witness saying they spotted two kids one with sneakers on and one with black still toed boots at Batty's Convinety store," said Little Bear.
"Oh, I'll go, they have never met me, they don't know I knew Corkey," said Walker.
"Okay, Walker will go," said Little Bear.
So they took, his pistol and his badge, and they drove up to Batty's Convenient store and Walker walks in and orders some food and takes it to a table by the window and sits down and start eating. Then an old beat-up corvette drives up fast with music blaring. Two young native kids come out. They walk in and got something to eat and sat a foot away from where Walker was eating his food. Walker was looking at them, and he looked down and saw black steel-toed cowboy boots and sneakers, the sneakers had dried up bloodstains.
"Hey fool, I told you to get rid of those sneakers, they can trace that stuff back to Corkey," said the Indian kid.
"Yeah, well what about you, I told you to get rid of them boots bro," said the other kid.
"Na," said the kid.
So they got up from the table and drove off. An undercover cop followed them. Walker quickly got up and ran towards his vehicle and started following them as well. Pretty soon it was getting dark, but they kept following them. Soon enough they caught up with them. They found their car abandoned near some trees. So they parked next to them. They got out and started looking the car over and took some stuff for evidence.
Then they heard loud music and an orange glare. So they slowly went down to investigate. They were behind some trees, and both kids had their backs turned to the trees. They had a fire going and they were drinking and being loud with the music turned up loud.
"Well now he knows not to be messing around with my money, nobody steals from me," said the kid.
"Whatever man," said the other kid taking a drink.
Then the police and Walker sneaks up.
"Freeze you're under a rest," said a reservation police officer.
They quickly pick them up and handcuffed them both and took them to the police cars.
"Hey man what about my car," said the kids.
"It's going to be in pounded kiddo," said the police officer.
So they took them to the police station and threw them in jail.
"Thank you again, Walker," said a police officer.
"Your very welcome any time," said Walker.
Walker left the station and drove home. When he arrived the porch light was on, but no house lights were on. So he quietly unlocked the door and walked in and closed and locked the door and went upstairs and went to bed.
