Playing Around With The System

"System, it is fancy and good all that but what should I do with it. After all I am no doctor. All I want to know is the strengths and weakness of this bird. Not some fancy x-ray thingy."

[Please don't blame the system for host's own short comings.]

"Can you just shut up and explain thing properly for a second? If you can't then I have other ways to find out about it myself." Alfred warned.

Suddenly information on the eagle appeared on Alfred's mind. This eagle largely resembled very much like the bald eagles from his previous life. It has the same outer appearances and after system scanned its internal organ structure also appear to be almost similar to the bald eagle.

But as always there was an elephant in the room. Although the two types bird appear to be similar, there were many strake differences between the two. Although they have much in common, the wind eagle in large in size and appears to have much more sophisticated skeletal structure in side.

Not only the eagle's skeleton was tougher, its internal make up was much more complex. The muscles of eagle were much more developed and tendons were flexible and stronger. Not only that the brain of the eagle appeared to be much more developed and even the brain activity was comparable to a human baby.

The biggest difference was that the presence of a ball like organ, that was present in the eagle's chest and connected to different parts of the eagle's body. The ball like organ on the other hand appeared to be non-organic and solid in structure.

Alfred did not know what it was for as it was currently dormant, this particular organ appeared to be similar to the magic core of a animals depicted in various novels. This was quite the interesting finding for Alfred and he decided to investigate about it in the future.

After all Alfred's core interests lie elsewhere. After rummaging through the streams of information in his mind he finally found what he needed. The weakness of the eagle.

The wind eagle appeared to be a highly sophisticated bird of prey, with enhanced beak and shaper claws, it had a fatal weakness. The eagle was night blind. Even with all its enhanced body and well structured organ system, the eagle eyes were its greatest advantage and the only fatal weakness in its body. In the morning, although the eagle could see for a long distance with its keen eyes, it is vulnerable at night because it cannot see well in very low light.

"Looks like luck played a big part in this guy's capture." Alfred thought. "As the attack happened before the sun had even risen up, the eagle was in natural disadvantage. Add to that the dense forest where light was even scarce, it looks like Nathen got lucky, and got the jump on the poor eagle during their last battle."

"System, you did a good job." Alfred praised the system in his mind. "Looks like you are not so bad after all."

[Host, thank you for the compliment.] System replied. [It looks like, you too are not a bad host to work with at all.]

"Well don't let this into your head too much. You still need to behave or else I am warning you, system."

[I won't. In fact, while you were looking at the eagles information, the system was looking through to see what else it can do. Guess what I found, host?] The system said in a mysterious tone.

"Stop playing games and quickly tell me." Alfred said with an impatient tone.

[Host, for starters you should try to work on that attitude, for what I am going to tell you next will surely help you out in the long run.]

Alfred was intrigued. Although he knew that the system was a little perverted, till now it had delivered what he had asked for something. The confidence shown by the system caught Alfred's attention.

"Tell me did you find some kind of OP attack function that could destroy the beast tide in one attack?" Alfred asked.

[Sorry to pour cold water on your OP attack dream, host. The system had not discovered any such function. And from the looks of things it looks like, this system is a pure support type system, so don't expect to be any such function in the future.]

"Then what kind of treasure finding function did you find?" Alfred said with loss of interest clearly visible from the tone.

[Host be patient. The system promises you that it will be worth your time, so much so that you will want to kneel before the system and worship it as your Ancestor.]

"System, will you cut to the chase and tell me what you found or should I try mute you somehow for all the eternity." Alfred warned.

[Host. First, you can't mute me. Second, threatening someone is a crime and third, this system isn't afraid of anyone. So, host. Please try your worst.]

"Well if I can't mute you, at least I can ignore you. Never think you are the only smartest person in the room system."

[Host you are absolutely right. But if you do how are you going to get you super powerful almighty areal fighting force?]

"System what do you mean?"

[What I am saying is host, is that so you want a areal fighting force that is completely made up of flying beasts like the wind eagle in front of you?]

Alfred was shocked. Suddenly it was as if his mind had slowed down, it took him a while to realize what the system had said.

"System what did you say?"

[Host, don't be shocked so much. I completely understand how you feel right now. Take a deep breath and calm yourself down first.]

Alfred did as the system said. He took a few drop breaths to calm himself down first.

"System did you know what you are saying? Do you even know what is the concept of an arial fighting force is? Do you even know what kind of impact it will have in medieval battles where armies fight either on foot or on horse? Do you what an aerial force will mean?"

[Host, don't get so much worked up. The system knows what it is saying.] The system lazily said. [I said such an army is possible. I never said forming such an army is easy. At least it is not easy in our current condition. We still need to break our back to achieve what you are imagining.]

"Them tell me what do you mean by aerial attack force?" Alfred asked.

[Well for starters, say if we can tame beasts like the wing eagle, slowly but surely, we can build a aerial force made entirely out of flying beasts.] System explained.

"That's not a bad proposition. System." Alfred said still not convinced.

[Why just aerial beast, we slowly but surely, we can build army's build out beats like Level 2 or higher Lions, Tigers, Wolves and all the exotic creatures that attack the Everwinter forest. Your greatest headache suddenly becomes your new found strength. Think about it host.]

"It sounds all good and dandy, system, but why do I feel like there is a enephant in the room?"

[Well host nothing comes cheap in life. Everything has a price, host.]

"I knew it. Tell me what is the catch here?"

[Well its nothing big. Its that the cost of taming such high level beasts is a little higher.]

"How much?"

[1250 MP?]

"The hack system. That nearly all the MP I have left with me." Alfred exclaimed.

[Look at it this way host, although 1250 MP is high for us now, do you think it will the same in the future? Although we don't know how to gain MP yet, we can still figure it out in future. And besides, can you think any other use of MP right now? Even if there was, will it be as much as beneficial right now as a strong help like the wind eagle? Besides we still have still few pieces of scraps left after spend 1250 MP. We can still use those in emergencies.]

"You sound awfully pushy; don't you think system? Spit it out, what in it for you." Alfred asked suspiciously.

[Actually, its nothing much, the system is just excited about new function and wants to try it out.]

"Are you sure it is all?"

"There are no scouts in this world."

[God damn it host. Just trust me will you. I am genuinely curious about my functions and just want to explore how it works.]

"Fine, Ill trust you this time but in return you have to make sure that this investment of your is worthwhile." Alfred said in his mind.

[Don't worry host, this trusty system of will deliver for sure.]

[Do you wish to start the taming process?] [Req 1250 MP]

"Yes."

[Deducted 1250 MP from the host]

[Taming procedure begins.]

Suddenly as Alfred felt as if a very low voltage passed through his body and suddenly in the next moment, Alfred could feel a very faint connection in his consciousness. The connection was so faint that if Alfred was not paying attention, he might have never found it.

Alfred tried to focus on that faint connection and suddenly faint connection got stronger. He noticed that although the connection now was stable, there was no reply from the other side. He tried to send some thought to communicate, he still got no reply. It was as if other party was dormant.
