Episode 15

Prince Hielo stood back patiently observing his sister's ceremonial meal. The plants that were arranged on her plate had been washed by hand by the elite ladies of the Glaciers. The women stood to their queen's left in order from weakest bloodline to strongest. Cerulean had implemented this new system when she was barely an adolescent. She had explained to her younger sibling that it was best to keep the most vulnerable closer to the inside circle, since they historically fell prey to coupes and uprisings. The higher ranking members of their society enjoyed their new place as gatekeepers and heavily policed the decorum and manners around their regions.

"How fares our duke?" Cerulean asked no one in particular. She was always careful not to make eye contact with any single person, her theory was that this would create an emotional barrier between herself and her subjects. She was right. Their people regarded her as a god more than a person that breathed and bled.
