Like a Reunion - Part 3

Lanie can see it. Penelope was not fine though, it looked like she was. She was faking her smile and her eyes looked tired and sad. Mrs. Hossler was still her mother after all even though she did bad things and was punished like that. 

They sat down beside Penelope. They were quiet, no one dared to speak after Tyler said his condolences. Penelope and Tyler were both aware of it, that her mother was the one who killed his family. But they are good and seem casual now, at least, for business. Penelope excused herself when other people came. 

"We can go now if you're uncomfortable." Lanie said to Tyler. He looked at her and nodded. He, honestly, felt suffocated in that place. He only went because of Lanie. Tyler bowed down to whisper to her, "I'll wait for you outside." Then, he stood up and exited the funeral home. 

Few minutes, Penelope finally approached her. She smiled at Lanie. "Where's Tyler?" she asked.
