The officers didn't suspect a thing and knelt down speaking to her in a soft tone in order to calm her down.
Turning towards the bullies they addressed them in a gruff voice before taking Ying Yue's money as evidence and giving Ying Yue replacement money from their own pocket.

The officers bought her act and let her. She ran on her tiny legs towards Zhi Lan and hugged her around the neck burying her face in Zhi Lan's hair.
Putting her mouth close to Zhi Lan's ear she whispered so as to not catch the attention of the officers,

Zhi Lan got scared but tried to act tough infront of her minions and pushed little Ying Yue away while shouting,
