Selena Gomez- Wolves

I've been running through the jungle, I've been running with the wolves to get to you..

                 To get to you..

   I've been down the darkest

       alleys, saw the dark side

of the moon to get to you..

                 To get to you..

I've looked for love in every stranger, took too much to ease the anger, all for you..

              Yeah, all for you..

I've been running through the jungle, I've been crying with the wolves to get to you..

                  To get to you..

            I wanna get to you..

Maeve's P.O.V

A snap woke me up from my brief nap that exhaustion forced me into, my lithe body stiffened and went into defense mode. I loved travelling solo and didn't want to stick with other rogues or join a pack, its just too risky.

My eyes scanned the forest for any danger or sign of rogues or trespassing wolves but I saw nothing.. Or smelt..

I felt a snout nudge my run area and I automatically swiped the wolf with my claws and snarled warningly as I turned but lowered my claws when I saw Keane glaring at me.

"I'm sorry, keke.. But you shouldn't have startled me when I was clearly in defense mode!" I scolded her mentally in our mind link before eyeing the part of the forest where I heard the noise from.

"Learn to calm down, Mae. You're too uptight. I swear, you're worse than Kore when she was your age." She stuck her white tail up before bounding towards the part of the forest that the noise came from.

As she was gone, I tried not to think how I couldn't seem to remember who Kore was or how I became a rogue, I only remembered ugly snippets of my past that I tried to push down and forget from time to time . I also tried not think about what I had gone through trying to survive as the only female rogue in this part of the world. Keane was my only friend and although rogues who we'd stumbled into in the past didn't understand why Keane couldn't shift into a human, I knew and I'm not one to trust anyone so I never spilt.

I washed my face and cleaned up fast, already desperate to continue our journeying and not attract more attention. I unwrapped a cloth where some dried jerky were stored in and packed the rest of our remains from the roasted rabbit we had as dinner yesternight. I climbed up some trees and pluck as many fruits as I could in the space of two minutes and jumped down silently.

I stored them in the cloth for eating during the journey because who knows if we might stumble into a territory where the trees are barren, I'm not going to eat raw meat like Keane, that's for sure. Roasting is out of the option because we wouldn't want to attract the attention of other rogues and possibly trackers.

I dismantled the makeshift tent I made from leaves and eye the lake we had swam in briefly yesterday. I would sure miss the luxury.

Ready to go and glad I've not had to kill any living thing this morning, I twisted my hair into a bun, wore the fresh pair of clothes I managed to steal in a human town I visited last week which consisted of a crop top black hoodie and black oversized joggers that was tight only at the waist and wore the only battered sneakers I have.

I snatched up my rucksack and mindlinked Keane.

"Where the fuck are you, Keane?? I'm through and waiting for you but your furry ass isn't anywhere to be found."

"Calm down, between just checking out the intruder from this morning and finding out it was a hare, I'm okay." She replied and I shook my head at her, stupid hungry wolf.

" I don't care if you're okay! Just get your butt back here in the next two minutes, you wolf! " I yelled at her and blocked her. I scoffed at her stupidity and sat down at the edge of the lake, waiting for her. Keane was my best friend and rock even if she was a wolf, I don't know how I met her but I knew she was my wolf and could materialise in front of me. I have two wolves- Mania and Keane. I don't know how but I do.

Ever since I woke up in the forest- naked and not remembering a thing and with Keane next to me, I felt this connection to her. I can't remember my past but Keane does and no matter how hard I beg or threaten her to tell me, her answer is always the same- "You'll find out when the time is right, little one."

It drove me nuts each time.

I touched the hood of my hoodie and pull it further to hide my face, I didn't want people to know my identity. Since waking up, lost in that forest, I tried my best to keep my identity a secret because who knows if the people that messed with my head might be looking for me and since they knew what I looked like, they had a lead.

I always wore a hood even when fighting and if my hood ever got torn when I shifted or in battle, I immediately shiftdd to my wolf form and stayed that way till I could get a hoodie again. Currently, in my stash of hoodies, I had four blacks and two navy blues and 3 ripped jeans with about five underwears I alternated and washed, bra not included. My bumping into so many male rogues, good ones, taught me many things I needed to know.

The sound of light paws trotting my way dragged me out of my brooding and I looked in that direction to see Keane trot towards me and snatched my rucksack before trotting west.

"Not even an apology.." I mutter shaking my head as I follow her.

She laughed in a wolfish way, me snorting as it sounded weird.

        "Bitch." I mutter and huff.

                       ~*~*~*~*~

Keane suddenly stopped walking and tensed up, I felt it too as I stiffened and growled warningly. The air suddenly seemed tense and reeked of danger and of course, rogues.

The bright and lovely forest suddenly seemed quiet and eerie. Birds had stopped singing and I tensed more as I heard heartbeats- exactly twelve of them.

"Keane, merge." I mindlinked her and felt her confusion and disagreement as she stepped in front of me, her back to my front.

"No! What the heck, Mae? I'm not merging with you. You can't handle them alone!"  I threw her an "are-you-serious-right-now" look, over my shoulder as I turned too, out backs facing each other's.

"Okay, I know you can but I won't let you." She rolled her eyes and stood her ground.

"We're surrounded, Keane. Trust me on this one. Let's fight as one." I tred to reason as rogues emerged from all sides. I briefly glanced at Keane with a last pleading gaze before she huffs and turned a shimmery silver and looked almost transparent before merging with me. I saw the wolves step back in surprise but I only smirked before launching towards the nearest one.

I was sure one eye was glowing purple and one eye was glowing red but they couldn't see it because my upper face was covered, only leaving space for my lips to show. And that lip was currently pulled up in a smirk.

I dodged his claws and sink mine into his neck, tearing his head clean from his body before somersaulting and landing on the back of a grey wolf that was charging towards me, I slammed the sole of my feet on his back laughing when I heared a loud crack and a whimper from him as he drops, I just snapped his neck and turn to see three large wolves coming at me.

Keane howled in my mind and I felt her getting angry, mania was still sleeping and I shook my head at the lazy wolf.

I jumped out of the way, landing behind them and dragged the tails of two of the wolves. I spun and threw them against a large boulder some feets away and heard snaps, they laid still and didn't move. They were possibly dead.

The other wolf jumped on me and two more jumped on me, raking their claws in my skin in and I growled before kicking the nearest one, making him fly and hit a tree, hard. And didn't get up.

I slammed my palms in the chest area of the two wolves on me and they flew back but got up, trying to charge again but hacking up blood, the third one sunk his fangs into my leg and I growled in pain and grabbed a sharp dart from my hoodie pocket, throwing it at the wolf's neck and he dropped.

I threw two other darts at the two who were staggering to get to me and they dropped. Four wolves jumped on me, two sinking their fangs each into my hands and pinning them down, one clawed my chest repeatedly and one turned into a human, and brought out a syringe from a plastic bag and advanced towards me. I growled and kneed the one on me and kicked him hard, his claws left my chest as he flew into the human rogue holding the syringe.

The wolf holding my right hand with his fangs got momentarily surprised and I used that opportunity to rip my hand from his fangs and I

hissed in pain as I flew my fist into the snout of the one holding on to my left hand. He flew back whimpering as his snout broke, my dart flew straight at his chest and he dropped, I immediately turned to the one at my right and dodged his claws. I dove straight for his neck, smirking when I heard it snap.

I faced the two wolves but flew back as one jumped on me and clawed my face, I growled and flipped us as his fangs sunk into my collarbone. I growled and punchdd him repeatedly before stabbing him with a curved dagger I snatched from my joggers. I sheathed back the dagger but hissed in pain as I felt a syringe plunge into my neck, I yank it out but the content had already made it's way into my bloodstream.

I faced the human rogue and narrowly dodge a big log that he sent towards my head, I reached towards the ground and snatched up the syringe, I ran after him and stabbed it into his back. I released its remaining contents and watched as he started trashing around before screaming and foaming in the mouth.

I turned my back at him, walkdd to where my rucksack was and picked it up. I started to run west, our original destination.

Speeding in the forest with my feet barely touching the ground, I wondered how I got immune to wolfsbane or even have this much strength to begin with. I was a mystery to even my self, I thought with a sigh and tried to focus.

Four hours later, I started to slow down as the wolfsbane started to affect me, I was supposed to go around the pack not into it but as I began to feel weak, I decided to take a break and see if it'll fade. I tried to mind link Keane and Mania but I couldn't because of the wolfsbane, they would be feeling weak now. I stayed leaning on a tree for an hour, pondering on whether I should cross the border that was inches away from my feet or pass out unguarded.

As I began to see black dots, I made my decision. I managed to speed past the border and into the marked territory.

The last thing I muttered was "oh shit" as I saw three guys emerge with threatening scowls on their face and royal badges on their black uniform.
