Chapter 21

Crystal decided to explore her surroundings. She found stairs that lead to a garden below where she could see buildings in the distance. The trees and plants had overgrown the village and surrounding buildings.

Crystal found herself looking around and realised she must be in an abandoned village.

She found a toy laying on the ground and just by walking around she found that most of the people's belongings were still in the village.

Crystal found several dragon stables and other types of mythical creatures stables.

"Could it be true that people and mythical creatures used to be a lot more bonded?" Crystal wondered out loud, the truth was she has only seen a few small groups of dragon riders but no wild dragons or younger dragons.

She could also say the same for many other creatures, she hasn't seen any of them only so far the alicorns, the dragons a few unicorns and the mystical creatures that form part of the council.

"Something really bad must have happened here?" Crystal said but somehow knew now one was listening.

Crystal listened for the birds but she couldn't hear anything

. She found another staircase this time leading up to another road and decided to follow it. At the top, she looked around and thought that the land is so pretty wasn't the surrounding kingdoms maybe to jealous.

Nylla landed next to Crystal and asked, "What are you doing?" Crystal looked around and said, "I've been exploring, the village below."

Nylla looked around and said, "it's been abandoned," Crystal lifted a plant to read a sign that was behind the bush and said, "yes it seems whatever happened here it happened very fast."

Thunder had been watching Crystal exploring the surrounding areas and Starmist was keeping him company.

"It's been a long time, how are the other dragon elders doing?" Thunder asked.

"Well we everyone we ran into seems to be doing alright but we doing know if Rose and Forest are okay and it seems Zion and Volcano might soon leave for good" Starmist said.

"Zion and Volcano are very old, usually they would have been replaced as elders by now," Thunder said.

"Yes, the situation seems to be getting worse and everyone seems to assume that Crystal will destroy the world as we know it," Starmist said.

"You don't believe that?" Thunder said. Starmist looked at the grey clouds that have been surrounding the kingdom in an almost unnatural way and said, "they said the same thing when the wizard discovered his apprentice created the red beryl and green beryl" Starmist said.

"Truth to be told, if the wizard taught the apprentice right nothing like this would even be possible" Thunder replied.

"If history teaches us one thing is that its best to learn from it and move on," Starmist said.

Thunder took to go hunting while Starmist flew down to graze on more grass that grew wild all over the island.

Nylla to took off to go hunting for food and just her luck there was plenty to go around. Crystal found some fruit trees and started picking the fruit.

She carried everything in a basket that she found in the village and went back up the stairs towards the big building.

Crystal decided to hang out her clothes that were wet from the storm. Crystal explored the building and soon realised she had found the castle.

The rooms weren't as big as the castles that she has seen up to that point but it somehow felt like home. There were papers and broken class laying everywhere. There were pieces of furniture that have been broken but Crystal couldn't decide if the broken furniture was a time or an event.

Crystal found several pieces of artwork that showed who she guessed the royal family was but the one she really liked was one of her mothers.

She found several bedrooms and a dining hall. Crystal walked into a room that she guessed was the thrown room and inside was glass cases that showed different riding gear for different mythical animals.

They were all decorated with silver and different colours of stones. Crystal walked around the room looking at each piece and realised whoever made these was really talented.

The next room Crystal found was the library, it was the biggest room in the castle and every bookcase had a label that said what subject it covered.

Crystal found that there are books on crystal dragons and even books that covered each elder dragon by name and among these books was a book on the history of the dragon queen.

Crystal sat down on the chair and started to read its was only when Starmist entered the room that she looked up. "This is where you were hiding?" she said.

"Yes I just don't see what went wrong here and this book is interesting. The dragon queen is the voice of all creatures a flame burns signalling she's alive if it dies it means she is dead. Did you know that?" Crystal asked.

Starmist looked around and said, "many of those traditions weren't put into use any more due to the world's opinions." Starmist said.

"I think the dragon queen needs to be a silent ruler, only concentrating on the wellbeing of all creatures and not on pleasing humans," Crystal said.

"True when the queen of dragon started to please humans more she lost the respect of those that she really needed to care about," Starmist said.

"I don't think creatures should be forced to fight wars that humans started" Crystal suddenly said.

Starmist looked at Crystal and asked, "what do you mean?"

Crystal walked over to a bookcase that said magical items and took out a book and opened it and read out loud. The red beryl and green beryl works in unison to create the eternal flame that always burns and never goes out. It is known as the queens flame and it provides hope to all that see it.

Crystal looked at Starmsit and said, "I think Eoine stole the red beryl for his own needs and lied to the kings about what happened here.

The red beryl and green beryl and royal treasures belonging to the dragon queen alone. He stole not from the humans but from the dragons and the creatures"

Crystal said. "That can't be your saying that what happened here wasn't the Golsend kingdom's doing but Eoine that stole from us?" Starmist said.

"Yes, and I do believe that it would be best if we take back all the stolen treasures and bring them here and seal of this island forever," Crystal said.

"What do you mean Crystal?" Starmist said. "I mean we need to create a kingdom just for the mystical creatures and not let any humans in ever again," Crystal said.

"That could work but don't we need humans," Starmist said.

Crystal looked around and asked, "What do we need, they started this war they can end it. I won't let more lives be a sacrifice for there causes." Crystal said.

"Spoken like a true queen," Thunder said. Crystal walked out to meat Thunder and Nylla and asked, "can it be done?"

Thunder looked around and said, "Yes it can be done, for years this island was invisible with only a few residents but then the island was discovered and the stones were stolen. If we find the stones we can hide the island again and I do believe that there is a way to move the island" Thunder said.

"How do we find the stones?" Crystal asked. "That I do not know, we know the stones were stolen but I do know there are five stones for every corner the red and green beryl and the royal stone," Thunder said.

"so we need to find eight stones, and the creatures we free we will bring here so that they can live peacefully," Crystal said.

Yes, and the humans will never see this island again." Crystal looked at the building and realised the library could have a book on the stones.

"If we know what the stones do and how they look we can find them and bring them here. The red beryl controls creatures the green beryl frees them so the other stones must have a unique power connected to them as well.

Just one thing didn't you say that the wizard's apprentice created the red beryl and green beryl" Crystal asked.

"Yes but the red and green beryl you are looking for is natural stones they never lose their power and united they create a fire that only the mystical creatures can see," Starmist said.

Then we have a plan as soon as we know what the other stones are and where they might be we will go and find them" Crystal said. Starmist Thunder and Nylla agreed to the plan and soon preparations for the journey was set into emotion. The plan to create a place where creatures of all kinds can live in peace away from the world and its troubling humans that only create war.
