Chapter 23

Starmist came towards Crystal and asked her, "How do you plan on doing that all the information we had was destroyed in the fire."

Crystal took a deep breath and replied, "we will figure it out somehow, I mean five stones mean five points" Crystal said.

"You need to be careful, those stones have more power than most know about putting the wrong stone in the wrong location can be really bad," Thunder said.

Crystal thought for a while and said, "then we need to study the stones and the locations. It the old times they didn't have books.

Forest said that some landmarks bare more secrets than most books ever written." Thunder looked around and said, "you might be right, even though it was before my time I believe there were ways to keep information in case of something ever where to happen."

Nylla landed and said, "the riders are back and they brought that darkness with them again." Crystal and her team went into hiding.

The group left quickly and Crystal realised her original plan worked.

"There's a rampaging dragon here let's leave," one said.

Crystal wondered what the difference was between the green beryl the elves was guarding and the green beryl in her hands but was distracted when she heard a loud explosion.

Crystal closed her eyes and focused on the surrounding forest. Crystal soon realised the horrible truth, "it's Forest and Rose, they are barely alive." Crystal said looking at Nylla.

"Calm down young rider we can help then but not if we get caught." Thunder said.

Crystal remained quit and when the riders left Crystal ran towards the two injured dragons.

Crystal couldn't believe the riders would give two respected elder dragons these kinds of injuries.

"Just what happened, what did they do how is this possible?" Crystal asked. She looked at the two dragons and realised they needed to be treated. Crystal looked over Rose and noticed she was poisoned her wounds were infected and she had almost no strength.

Crystal noticed that Forest had the same symptoms and looked up in the book of dragons for a solution. Crystal found giving them the poison antidote a lot of water and food would help.

She also learned that Alicorns was one of the few animals that can heal dragon injuries to a point where it's not so dangerous and Crystal asked Starmist if she would help.

Starmist did what she could to heal the two dragons but could only do it in small amounts over time. Crystal and Starmist spend the next few weeks trying to heal the two elders.

Nylla and Thunder brought them food and made sure there is fresh water close by. Then a few weeks later after everyone's hard work Rose and Forest were strong enough to walk around again.

"Thank you, Crystal," Forest said. Crystal looked at the two elders and asked, "If the stone Eoine has isn't the real stone, what is going to happen to all of the dragons?" Crystal asked. "The dragons will become less and less until they don't exist anymore," Thunder said.

Crystal found that for the first time in her life she wanted to do something but what she wanted to do is dangerous.

"Is there a way that we can stop Eione?" Starmist looked at Thunder and asked, "How was the last war won?" Thunder looked at Crystal and said, "I don't want to remember the last war but as I recall the elves has a green beryl that can free the dark dragons from Eione's control" Thunder said.

"Then that's what we need to do first?" Crystal said. "I think what we need to do first I make sure those riders cant come in uninvited again," Nylla said.

Crystal and the dragons talked for hours trying to come up with a plan and in the end, it was decided that the five cornerstones will be restored first and then once the barrier is created and the island is invisible again.

Will Crystal attempt to find the kingdom of elves and find a way to free the rest of the dragons. This way any dragon or creature that is freed can be brought to the island and they would be saved.

Crystal and the dragons started to make preparations for the difficult missions ahead. Training, planting crops making sure there is plenty of food going around but soon Crystal realised she would need help with the missions ahead.

She was finding it difficult to do all the work and look for the stone pillars.

"Thunder do you know if any of the former members of Golsend might be willing to help us?" Crystal asked one day.

The elder dragons looked at one another and asked, "why do you ask?" Crytal looked around and said, "this is to much work for one human."

The dragons looked around and said, "why do you need help?"

Crytal looked shocked at the dragons and said, "where do you think the food is going to come from if we take in more dragons and creatures. We will need a lot of food and fresh water? I can't do it all alone and restore the barrier to keep the island form being discovered." Crystal said.

The elder dragons agreed but feared if a stranger is brought onto the island know, it could put their lives in danger. Crystal did what she could to prepare for the coming war fixing dams as best as she could.

The dragons had to help even though they all complained about the work not being meant for them but Crystal didn't listen and ordered them around anyway.

She also started a herb garden that grew everything from medicinal to spice for food. It took months to prepare for the coming war and one day Crystal found one of the five stone pillars of the island.

Crystal looked at the pillar and started to clean the pillar and realise every pillar was unique just like the stone that belonged to that pillar.

Crystal saw that this stone pillar had symbols that represented water and soon found the stone that had a water symbol on it.

She placed the stone in the keyhole of the tower and realised the tower was activated when the power started radiating from the tower.

She looked around and noticed a thin layer of water surrounded the island. Forest landed next to the pillar and said, "well done my dear."

Crystal smiled and said, "Only four more to go and I think I know how the pillars work every tower work but we still need to figure out the rest of the stones."

What Crystal didn't know was that every stone that has been activated summons a guardian that guards that stone and the water pillar was guarded by an ancient water dragon.

One of the original dragon elders and would only learn this as every one of these ancient elder dragons will test her to see if she truly will become the next dragon queen.

Thunder knew about all this but wanted to see if she had what it takes to protect the mystical creatures. After all, he is one of the ancient dragons and he knows that if the test isn't difficult the queen will never truly be prepared for the tasks that lies ahead after all not all of the ancient dragons had agreed that taking on a rider would be best some despised the idea but it was the first dragon queen that proved them wrong.

It was predicted that one day another will rise to protect them from a great evil and Thunder was sure that Crystal was the very queen they have been looking for all these years.

Crystal discovered the next day that the water pillar was in a dam-like structure with a lot of water in. "This wasn't here yesterday," Crystal told Nylla.

Nylla looked at the water and said, "its the cleanest water on the island but somehow I don't think drinking this water would be a good idea?"

Crystal closed her eyes and felt that the power the tower was radiating of felt ancient somehow.

"This power, it feels somehow very ancient," Crystal told Nylla. Starmist arrived and said, "That's because it is ancient, it means that this tower is guarded by an ancient dragon and this one will test you, Crystal."

Crystal looked at the water and asked, "what are the ancient dragons and how are they different from the elder dragons?" Crystal asked.

"Well the ancient dragons are a lot older then the elder dragons they have pure elements like water, fire, thunder, light, dark, time, storm.

Forest, for instance, is a form of a hybrid dragon and hybrid dragons have a shorter life span than a pure dragon. They are called ancient because some believe that they are actually the original dragons," Nylla said.

The water raised towards the sky and when the water fell towards the ground stood a blue dragon just as big as Nylla and she said, "You will know my name once you proved yourself worthy to be the queen of dragons and I will be give you your test" the water dragon said.
