Chapter 29

Crystal decided that she had enough of exploring for one day and decided to go and see what the other riders are up to but when she got there she wasn't expecting the discussion that she heard among the riders. "Simon, your father told us to find a way to stop her, why are we helping her?" one ask.

Simon had his had in his hair and said, "because we weren't expecting ancients and elder dragons to gather and the black stone we found today was the priceless black diamond that was discovered in the lost lands."

One rider got up and said, "wait you mean that, it's not the black stone of the lost tribe?" Simon looked at the rider and said, "Yes I don't think its hear, what we found so far poses no tread and if she continues to do things this way.

We might be able to find the ancient dragon of time?" Simone said. "Why is this dragon so important?" a rider asked. "It's important because he can send us back in time and then we can prevent Crystal's birth and this whole war," Simon answered.

Crystal took a step back and returned towards her home and where Starmist and Nylla stood waiting for her. She told them Simons real plan, "he's not here to help, he only wants the time dragon so that he can prevent me from being born," Crystal answered.

Nylla and Starmist looked at Crystal and asked, "how many different ancient dragons are there?" Crystal looked at the box where she kept the keystones and said according to this there are two more trials," Crystal said.

That night Crystal fell asleep next to Nylla and Starmist decided to stay close by. She heard legends of the time dragon and even as an alicorn she had sworn to never tell a soul where the time dragon really is.

He was asked to help in the war with Callion but he refused to help the riders or the mystical creatures.

The next morning Starmist took Crystal to the far side of the island and said, "don't worry about the ancient time dragon, he guards over time and against those that want to use his power.

The truth is the time dragon is sleeping right now and it is said he only awakens when the rainbow dragon makes her appearance to crown the dragon queen."

Crystal looked at Starmist and said, "so he only comes when the rainbow dragon calls him?" Starmist who was standing walked over to the ocean water and said, "he is not the only ancient dragon that chose to answer only to the rainbow dragon Crystal."

Crystal got worried and asked, "what do you mean?" Starmist told Crystal to mount so that they could go for a flight.

Starmist chose to land at the space tower where the ancient space dragon stood guarding over the island. Crystal dismounted and aksed Starmist, "what is wrong Starmist?"

Starmist looked around and said, "what I am about to tell you does not leave this island?" Crystal was shocked and asked, "Is this secret that dangerous?"

Starmist looked around and towards that ancient space dragon and said, "not only is this secret dangerous it's forbidden by all to even talk about it," Starmist said.

"Starmist your taking a big risk telling her that law," the space dragon said. "She needs to know there are riders that are looking for the time dragon again and I was tasked with teaching her. I believe its time she knows bout this law and how come it's forbidden to talk about certain types of dragon," Starmist said.

"You chose to tell her here," the space dragon asked. "The riders are back on Golsend and truthfully they need to be kicked out for even thinking of the time dragon," Starmist said.

"Okay then you may tell her but then we decided about what to do with those who asked about the time dragon," the space dragon said.

"Crystal there are many different kinds of the ancient dragon all with a pure element. When the first rider queen was chosen it was decided that only some of the ancient dragons will have contact with her directly and the reason for this is that it was feared that some of the ancient dragon's powers would be abused if they were ever discovered.

The rainbow dragon was selected as the one ancient dragon who could protect all the secrets. The ancient dragons of water, nature, fire, air, metal, ice, thunder, space, light and dark were chosen to help guard the island against harm and to help the queen guide and protect those that lived there," Starmist said.

Crystal looked at Starmist and asked, "why were the others kept a secret?" The space dragon laid down and said, "fear can be a dangerous thing child, some of the ancient dragons can destroy mountains others can control the sun.

Their power is so dangerous that it was decided that they would make a living in another dimension and only show up when it was needed.

The time dragon was needed at one time because of a wizard that invented time travelling and didn't understand the rules regarding time travelling," the space dragon said.

"What are the rules regarding time travelling?" Crystal asked. "Well for the one you can change the future or the past and depend on what you do you can make it possible for certain people in your time not to exist at all.

Changing the flow of time is the last resort in any case and this war does need the time dragons power," the space dragon said.

Crystal looked at Starmist and asked, "what are we going to do about Simon? I guess they overstayed there welcome, I cant put the ancient or the elder dragon is more dangerous than they already are in I mean.

There's the red beryl the green beryl and the black stone of the lost tribe. It looks like we truly are alone in solving this problem?" Crystal said.

"What of the red beryl and green beryl do they want?" the space dragon asked. "There are two types of green and red beryl, one is fake its used to control dragons and humans the other is used as a flame representing the dragon queen.

Rumours said that the fake red beryl was sealed in Golsend but things happened and well the stone was stolen and Eoine now controls dragons but I can't find any evidence that the stone was here on Golsend," Crystal said.

"It's the same stone that started the war years ago in Callion," Starmist said. "I think I need to ask the riders to leave," Crystal said. "Yes it would be best, this island is a save haven for us and if the humans can't understand that they are not welcome," the space dragon said.

Crystal felt her heartbreak into tiny little pieces and said, "I'll ask them to leave tomorrow." That night the riders gathered in the centre of the island and Crystal called Simon over.

"I think it's better if you and the rest of the riders go back to Callion for a while," Crystal said. "What do you mean?" Simon asked. "The ancient dragon elders doest like some of the topics you and your group have been discussing and they want you to return to Callion as soon as possible.

There is no evidence that the fake red beryl or the black stone of the lost tribe was ever here. You need to look for them somewhere else," Crystal said.

Crystal didn't give Simon time to react and went into her home where she sat in a corner and cried, she never told anyone but secretly she started to like Simon. Simon tried to knock on her door but the ancient elders asked him to leave right away.

The next morning Crystal found a letter below a rock next to her home.

She wanted to read the letter but her heart would let her read the letter and so she placed it in her home without reading the letter and continued to care for all the dragons on the island.

It was Forest that noticed Crystal wasn't okay and that the workload was too much for her alone. He came to her and asked, "why did the riders leave?"

Crystal took a deep breath and said, "They wanted to ask the time dragon for help to go back into time and prevent me from being born."

Forest looked at Crystal and asked, "are you sure that's what they said, "yes I heard them and some of the ancient dragons didn't like the idea," Crystal said. "So you had to ask them to leave?" Forest said.

"I thought it would be an easy thing to do but if not, I don't understand why everyone abandons me with some kind idea that they can kill me.

The worst is I started to like Simon, for the first time in my life it felt like someone cares about me and I had to send him away because he has the plot to kill me," Crystal said.

Forest understood the pain Crystal was going threw after all he had to witness her mothers tears when she knew she would not be able to raise Crystal on her own. "Come child let it all out, you will feel better soon," Forest said.
