CHAPTER - TWENTY EIGHT

Thomson got up and wore his coat. He reached David's house who was sitting in his room. When he saw the front hall which was badly burnt he felt guilty.

" Thompson, my friend you're here" David came out of his room and hugged him.

" Yes, David I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't ask this right now, but can you tell me, when did this happen? I mean how did you know about the fire? " Thompson asked.

" Well..It all started at about 2am, we were all sleeping in our rooms, when suddenly I heard screams at the front hall. When I and my wife came out , we were shocked to see that the front hall was on fire.

Thankfully, we could douse the fire using the fire extinguisher and no one was injured. But the strangest part was when the police came to investigate into the fire accident they saw nothing suspicious. They couldn't find any clue whatsoever of the cause of the fire."

Thompson didn't say anything , because deep down in his heart, he knew the reason. But he couldn't say anything.

He was feeling guilty to involve them in this dangerous situation when he knew the reason behind it.

After a while, they both went to the hospital to visit David's son, who was now recovering. After returning to David's home, he took the book with him back to his house.

When Thompson came back home, he asked Bill, to come over to his house. Bill came within 15 minutes and as soon he entered the house, he was surprised to see Thompson sitting with a book in his hand.

" Sir, you called, Did you need something from me? "

Thompson threw the book on the table and said in a serious tone, " Bill, tell me everything you know about this book "

Bill looked at the book on the table, it was the same book which he had given to his master a few days ago.

" Its the same book, I had given you sir, what happened ? Is there any problem? "

" Where did you get this book from? "

When Bill heard this, he thought for a while and then replied, " I got it from another house where I work sir "

" Is there something wrong with this book , do you know something about it which you haven't told to me about...?? " Thompson asked looking at Bill's face, as if not to miss any reaction.

Bill was shocked, he took a gulp of air and then answered nervously, " Yes sir...."

Thompson clenched his fist and then asked with a loud stern voice, " Say it..."

Bill then, disclosed and narrated everything about the book. What happened in Mike's house and how they told him to burn it.

Thompson was furious with Bill for hiding this from him, but he knew that he can't get angry on him because, Bill was same like him, he also didn't believe in these stuff, that's he thought of selling it. He had no right to judge him.

Had he said these things before, he wouldn't believe him at all....but now, things are different....
