The City

Where am I?" I said, as my brain was  certainly spinning. I stood up slowly to make my blood rush back to my brain. I took in my new location and it seemed I was in an alley way. Huh, typical. Put my hands to my neck to see if it's still there...and it still is. WHEW!  Now all I need to do is to get help cuz I'm lost.

"HEY WHERE DO YA THINK YOU'RE GOING CROOKS!" A manly voice shouted throughout the city, blaring his sirens whenever there was a crook on the loose. I remember that familiar voice. Duke Detain! I hid behind some trash cans so I will not be seen...by anyone just yet. I mean gotta take on some precautions right? I just got here!

"AAAGH IT'S DUKE DETAIN RUN!" One of the robbers exclaimed. UGH they may be robbers but they sure scream alot. I thought to myself. Then my train of thoughts got cut because I saw one of them, oblivious of my presence, tried to hide in this same ally way as me. I then tapped quietly on the man's shoulder.

"Howdy, this is my turf--hyaaa!" I replied and did a round house kick towards him as he flew back out, into the handcuffs of Duke Detain.

"The easy way is rarely the best way!" He laughed to himself and zoomed away back to his police station to bring them to justice.

I then quickly got out of my hiding spot and tried to act casual as any lego being. The moment I turned right, I saw Tippy Doorman, the doorman of the city. Though I couldn't just blabber about this place and sound very outspoken, that I knew him from the start. It would be just so rude. I then pulled up my hoodie to not get much attention towards me. So I proceeded to walk on towards the building, but then remembered I don't have lego currency. I mean I don't even know if they even have a national currency. I can only hope.

"OH! What a lovely day isn't it miss?" Tippy replied...looking my way! Wait was he talking to me? I pointed to myself awkwardly.

"Uh, sir were you talking to me?"

"Ah yes I was. Hmm, seems like you are quite new here is that so?" Tippy replied in that posh way, well in a good way unlike Clara and Claire but eh.

"Oh, yeah... Yes I am." I stuttered litterally fangirling in my insides I never knew there was even a portal on the way here but I was nervous I mean what if they would never give me a place to stay in?

"Hmm, well in that case, I shall let you come in then, hope you settle well!" Tippy then opens the door for me unexpectedly. I was shocked! He was too kind! I needed to repay him but with what? I don't have a job yet!

"Wait, are you sure?" I asked in uncertainty and shock.

"Yes, I'm sure. Now the name's Tippy Doorman at your service. So, come along now." He patiently waited on me to go in. I really felt guilty but then went in anyway.

"Oh wait, what may be your name miss?" He asked, really interested in my presence.

"Uh, Florence Fox. Nice to meet you Tippy." I replied shaking his hand smiling. He sure seems real and seems like a nice guy. I guess it's not like in my real realm where there are such boys who are such nuisance. And girls who are such brats!

"Well, Florence what a unique name." He said cheerfully as his face glowed in delight because he was able to help me, a newcomer, in any way. I wish my realm would learn, one or two, from these guys.

"Thank you Tippy. I have a feeling I will have a great stay, here." I replied the same way. He chuckled kindly and closed the door behind him positioning back to his original posture, guarding the door. He certainly wasn't called Tippy Doorman for nothing. I smiled to myself and laughed lightly at the thought.

I then started my climb up the stairs. The walls were litterally covered with colorful bricks, big and small. The windows were clear as crystal and their floors were perfectly clean. Frames were hung and showed the pictures of when this hotel was made and how they modernised it, until today.

"Beautiful!" I whispered underneath my breath. I then heard a frail lady voice from behind me.

"Yes it is beautiful and this hotel was passed down from generation to generation. Hi the name's Mrs. Smith." Lady Smith answered. I quickly turned around and saw myself standing begore a lego grandmother who looked like in her 80s or so and and had a hoary head.

"Ah, hi the name's Florence, Florence Fox." I spoke as I anticipated to shake her hand which she accepted gladly.

"Here I'll show you around Lego city and so you can tell me more about yourself.. Let's start tomorrow." I happily said, sure, and told her that I gotta crash...I mean sleep, yeah I think these people normally use their manners.

"By the way, mind telling me the perfect vacant room for me to lodge in?" I asked absentmindedly.

"Ah yes, second door to your right." Lady Smith replied back as she walked around with her typical rack thing that help support her since she was old of course.

"OH thanks ma'am." said gratefully as she smiled back at me and surprisingly went down the stairs that easily, Tippy opening the door for her and saying his normal 'bon voyage' thing to Lady Smith.

I then went inside my apartment and sat back on the prepared bed, at that moment confused and was a total wreck.

"Wonder what I look like now as a lego brick?" I asked myself out loud. So I walked across the room seeing a mirror. I peered into it and gasped at the most stunning sight. I looked really beautiful, having long jet black hair, lightly tanned skin, having bangs, light green eyes and surprisingly having the most amazing smile that any girl has always dreamed of, with rosey red lips. Though out of all the beauty...was sadness.

"Well, I'm doing fine here and all, but how are my parents and Lilly? I miss them so." I spoke softly as my voice faded into whispers. I looked down seeing my necklace once more asking it to go back home or anything to get me out of here and go home because things were just not the same without them. But I failed several times.

Quiting, I then got up to shower and quickly changed into my nighties and flipped my phone on and PING! My feed in my social media notified me constantly. Which hit me then. MY PHONE WAS OFF THIS WHOLE TIME AND MISSED ALL MESSAGES! I then facepalmed myself. I'm so dumb.

"Florence...WHERE ARE YOU!"

"CUKOO GURL YOU THERE I'VE BEEN CALLING YOU!!!"

"GURL ANSWER THE DAMNN PHONE!"

'OH SHNAP! What am I going to say?' I thought. Oh man. I can't say where I am or my dad will kill me for breaking my promise! What do I do then?

As anxiety was about to creep on me again I immediately got shut eye and slept and dreamed something that was weird.

It started when I was just enjoying the lush green grass when I experienced this. An earthquake broke out and saw a flying angel with green hair and stretched out his hand ready to grsp mine.

"Come with me Florence you are in danger." He spoke with softness and firmness in his tone, and his eyes were filled with love and compassion.

I allowed him to take me up with him and so he delivered me from the earthquake. I then looked down and saw something horrid. My friends and family all had murderous looks on their faces, giving me the vibe or hints that they all hated me, which concluded the result of the earthquake. They wanted to kill me.

"Thank you sir, for saving me." I smiled sadly.

"The name's Daniel, and You are welcome, I was sent to care for you and be there for you in your toughest times."

"Thank you again Daniel. Are there others like you?"

"Yes, there are."

"What are their names?"

"That's another story for an another day." He lovingly replied, as everything started to slowly fade into black and unconsciousness.

I woke up again, surprisingly comforted at the thought, of an angel watching over me plus a whole lot more I wonder when.

I looked at the time it was 3am in the morning and so I had the chance of sleeping again, but I couldn't. What did the dream mean? Was it just psychological affects reflecting on my situation or does it have meaning? And Daniel? Who was that guy?

Having nothing to do, I just changed into my morning clothes with my thoughts on that dream, while at it. Who could I talk to about that? I'll just be thought as crazy by the most popular people here. Would they even truly accept me as one of them even though I look pretty would they look deeper and know the real me? Such as my mom and dad and Lily? At least I don't have to go to school continuously and maybe start making a difference here but I don't know if they would accept me as I am. UGH! And just at the thought of it and I started stressing. I need more shut eye, and so, I slept again, not having that rediculous dream ever again. Taking me into oblivion.

I miss you mom, dad and Lilly. Please be safe. I cried dearly and wept much.

CRASH!

Great. Just when I needed sleep there had to be a subsequent crash in my room. I sat quickly upright on my bed to look around to my left finding a young man in a black mask with blueish greenish eyes, wearing a gray and white stripped shirt and wearing a long black pants, with blonde hair.

He somewhat hurt himself while in the process seeing shards of sharp glass on my bricked floor having some of them grazing deep within his skin. Why was he here to steal? There was nothing here. I swiftly stood on my two feet and panned my room to see something useful to tie him down, while he was unconscious for awhile, for the cops to easily capture him. I then found myself a jump rope and tied him down. I swear this is going to be a habit of mine. WHY A JUMPROPE! Anyways, I picked him up and slowly moved him to a corner of the room to leave him there. I was cleaning up the mess with a broomstick I found, until, a cop came in quite dashingly, in his normal police blue clothes and handcuffs with sunglasses on his black haired, head for effect? I guess.

"I swear climbing up the stairs is going to be a habit these days!" Said the voice, hearing panting and heaving, that I have heard from yesterday morning. It was Duke Detain! The voice being all too familiar.

When he came to he said, "Sorry ma'am, nothing to w-" his voice trailed, seeing the theif was tied up already and was just propped at the corner of the room, as he walked in.

"Did you do that?" He asked in complex, scratching the back of his neck.

"Uh, yeah I did." I spoke out awkwardly.

"Was I not-"

"OH! No, no you did perfectly fine, miss..." He looked at me questioningly.

"OH! Right the name's Florence Fox. Sorry about my manners." I apologised. Man I need to work on my social skills.

"OH, it's fine. I'm sorry to move in the way I did. I was just trying to chase this guy so, I'm the one who needs to thank you." He said with worry in his eyes.

"Pfft, what? It's fine it's the police's duty to finish the job, you can take the credit honestly. Besides I just moved in." I smiled kindly clearly seeing that he just needed to do his job.

"Oh, OK. But I have to owe you something." He spoke flustered and embarrassed because of his sudden outburst while coming into my room.

"No, it's fine really. Take the credit. Anyways I can just finish cleaning this mess he made." I said with a sigh of exasperation, pointing to the corner where the man lay, blaming him of the mess in my room.

"Well, I'll need to take him to jail." Duke then sauntered towards the unconscious man and stooped down to pick him up until he suddenly stopped, staring at the man's back.

"Were you a cop?" He asked, as he kneeled down to take a more closer look at whatever he was looking at. So, I walked over to see why he asked that. And lo and behold, the way I tied the man up, was of a cop's way of tying someone up if he or she doesn't have handcuffs. My eyes widened and realised that I might've blown my cover.

"My parents were cops and taught me how to do that." I silently stated, as Duke looked down sadly that he knew he touched a touchy subject...which he wasn't supposed to talk about but I just let him. He didn't know any better.

"I'm sorry... I-"

"No, it's OK... You didn't know any better." I smiled sadly at him.

"Well, it was nice to meet you..." He said as he got up from crouching, "...and you know what?" he asked looking up to me from doing his business.

"You would make a good cop, you know." He smiled kindly, and went his way, as he said one more thing.

"I owe you...really...thanks Florence. Till we meet again." Then he left out the door, with the man on his shoulders.

No, Thank you Duke Detain. For being a great friend to me even though you even hardly knew me. I then went back to a full, rested sleep.
