'I must hurry, I must stop him' Running as fast as her legs possibly could, Nami was anxiously moving through the village while hoping she won't be too late.
"Nami, where are you going now?? Will it kill you to stop for a second?? Wait!!" Genzo just arrived outside of Nami's house only to find her running past him once again. Exasperated, he once again ran after her 'Damn, tomorrow I will probably have the worst muscle cramp I've ever had'
*BOOM*
Suddenly, a huge explosion shocked the entire village, shaking the earth so strongly that a few staggering villagers even fell on their butts!
'Earthquake?! No, that thing over there must be the reason!' At first, Genzo believed it was an earthquake and just as he was about to yell for everyone to lie down on the ground he saw a huge cloud of black smoke rising on the horizon. Immediately realizing it must have been an explosion he once again renewed his strength and ran after Nami.
*BOOM*
Not expecting a second explosion to occur, Genzo lost his balance and fell on his face from the inertia of his speed. Standing up, he saw the second explosion has happened where the first one had occurred 'Another one? what the hell is going on today??'
As he ran towards the black smoke he began to notice it was coming from Arlong Park, after hesitating for a moment he gritted his teeth and continued chasing after Nami.
Meanwhile, Nami's anxiety reached its peak. With horror in her eyes, she draw strength from god knows where and moved even faster than before 'They must be fighting already, I must hurry or he really might…!'
Not daring to continue that line of thought, Nami prayed she won't be too late. She knew Arlong valued her greatly and treated her like a crewmate of his, so if she threatened to kill herself maybe he will let Eragon go, or so she hoped…
Determined not to let anything bad happen to Eragon, she finally reached Arlong Park. Panting, Nami couldn't help but stop and watch in wonder as the entire place was in ruins, there was no stone left that didn't have burn marks on it 'What's going on here? Did the Marines bomb the place? No, that's impossible..'
This wasn't the first time Nami was at Arlong Park, she has been there dozens of times already. Picturing in her mind how the place was supposed to look like she couldn't believe she was in the right place. The contrast was too big for her to swallow, thinking she might have got to the wrong place.
Only when Nami noticed Eragon sitting on a pile of black stones did she get back to her senses. She approached him while the shock in her eyes intensified "W..What happened here? Did you do it?"
Eragon replied with a chuckle "Yep"
Hearing his confirmation, Nami couldn't help but gasp. She already saw Eragon kill a ship full of pirates single-handedly, so she knew Eragon was powerful, but changing the landscape so thoroughly was beyond what she believed was humanly possible.
"Are you serious? B..But how?" The skepticism in Nami's eyes only increased the more she thought about it. Looking at Eragon's face, although handsome, he was too young!
'Should I just show her?' While Eragon was considering if he should use the fire jutsu again, he heard Nami's sudden exclamation.
"T..That?!?!"
Following Nami's line of sight, he saw she was looking at the burned body that was lying next to him "Do you recognize this fishman? He must be quite lucky as he was the sole survivor after I bombed the place twice…" Walking over Eragon kicked Arlong's body, making him roll till he reached Nami's feet.
Nami's mind was blank, she was staring blankly at Arlong's nose, obviously recognizing him. When reality finally registered in her head, rage started bubbling in her heart. Immediately Nami started kicking Arlong in the face savagely, she only stopped when her leg went numb.
"Huff huff What's going on here?? Huff, who did this?" Just then Genzo walked towards them while gasping with the same shocked expression Nami had when she first arrived.
Eventually, Genzo's gaze rested upon Arlong's body. Noticing Nami's swollen leg with blood smirched on it he immediately realized what just happened.
"Now now, everything will be all righ... "Putting his hand on Nami's shoulder he tried to comfort her only to have his hand shaken loose.
"Sob sob" Throwing Genzo's hand off her, Nami ran straight into Eragon's chest with tears streaming down her face.
Feeling Nami's shaking body as she cried, Eragon wrapped his hands around her waist softly, hugging her back "I am here, he can't hurt you anymore. There there, cry it all out"
Taken aback, Genzo moved his gaze between the two of them and a shimmer of further understanding passed through his eyes. Sighing, he walked away as he figured it was best to leave them alone for a while.
Several minutes later Nami finally calmed down, but she still hugged Eragon strongly. She didn't have the gut to face him..
Hearing the crying stop, Eragon moved his hand from Nami's back to her face so she could look at him. He showed her a smile and spoke while caressing her flushed cheek "Does this mean I get a kiss even though I came here?"
A trace of unease flashed through Nami's eyes, her thoughts were in a total mess, she couldn't tell if Eragon was joking or not.
Looking at Nami's facial expression change every few seconds was so amusing Eragon couldn't help but start laughing. He didn't want to force her to do something she wasn't completely at peace with so he pinched her face softly before letting go "That uncle from earlier must be worried, the rest of the village has probably arrived here too.."
When Eragon's hands released her, for a fraction of a second the corners of Nami's mouth inadvertently twitched. knowing Eragon was probably right and this wasn't the time nor the place, she took a deep breath before she said with a radiant smile "Thank you!"
"You're welcome" smiling back Eragon turned his attention to Arlong before saying "What do you plan to do with him? If we don't treat his wounds soon he will die.."
After thinking for a while Nami said through clenched teeth, "He doesn't deserve to live after what he has done!"
"Very well" Drawing his sword, Eragon sent a compressed blade wave and behead Arlong from a distance of 5 meters away. Controlling his strength perfectly, only Arlong's head flew into the air as the invisible blade wave dissipated before hitting the ground.
[Ding, you gained 2,153 experience point]
'Wow that's the first time I got over 2,000 experience points for a single kill, luckily it's me who killed him' Noticing the amount of experience points he got, Eragon was delighted. 'I shouldn't be this complacent and wasteful in the future, next time I should just kill before thinking further'
Dumbfounded, Nami looked at Eragon weirdly "I didn't say we should kill him, I just meant we should let him die from his wounds…"
"What does it even matter? The wounds were also caused by me so technically it's me who killed him either way" Shrugging his shoulders, Eragon returned the sword to its sheath. Looking at Arlong's badly malformed face, it was completely unrecognizable. Not only were there born marks everywhere, but it was also badly swollen from Nami's kicks, even the nose was also twisted 'Such a shame… 20 million going to the garbage'
"By the way, where is all of Arlon's money? That money belongs to the village, you better give it back right now" Looking at Eragon with a blaming look, Nami started accusing him
"How would I know where it is? It's probably buried here somewhere… Since it's your money you can dig it up yourself" Dusting his hands, Eragon looked at Nami with an evil look in his eyes "Now that we are done here, when do you plan to start cleaning the ship? I also have quite a lot of laundry waiting…"
Nami's cute little nose scrunched up and she huffed before heading towards the park gates, choosing not to bicker with Eragon.
"Hey, I am not kidding, you still have to pay back what you have stolen" Walking in big strides Eragon caught up to Nami and walked shoulder to shoulder with her.
*Chattering*
Unsurprisingly there was a huge crowd standing outside of the gate, whispering with one another while none of them dared to enter inside the park.
Gathering her courage Nami climbed one of the big rocks, making sure everyone is able to see her. All of the villagers ceased talking as they looked up at her with a wondering expression on their faces.
"Arlong's and his fishmen are dead!! They won't be able to terrorize us any longer, we are free!!!" Taking a deep breath Nami yelled with all her strength, her face flushed red in excitement.
"What?! Arlong's dead??"
"How is that possible? Who can possibly kill those monsters??"
"Impossible!"
Already expecting they wouldn't believe Nami's words. Genzo also climbed on the rock to stand next to Nami "It's true, I saw it with my own eyes, the fishmen are dead!!"
Hearing the confirmation from the village sheriff, the people finally started to believe they weren't hearing nonsense. Looking at each other, ecstasy took over them.
"We are free, we are free!"
"Sob sob, mom do you see this?? The day has finally come!"
"Yes!! they finally got what they deserved, hahaha"
Watching as the people laugh while some of them cried, Eragon could feel how much suffering they must have gone through. He didn't want to admit it but their intense reaction affected him deeply, he wasn't really a heartless person as he thought.
"And all of this was done by a single person, Eragon, a Pirate Hunter!!" Hearing his name being called, he turned his head to see Nami pointing at him while shouting with a grinning face, as if saying "you are screwed!"
"Eragon! Eragon! Eragon!"
Helpless, he gave Nami one resentful look before disappearing in the face of the agitated villagers 'She sure is vindictive..'
