"What's wrong James? It doesn't suit you to look so serious hehe" Entering James's office, Eragon saw him pacing back and forth with a serious look on his face, which was quite surprising. Usually, James will sit with his legs on the table and smoke a cigar in laziness.
"You're finally here! what took you so long??" Ignoring Eragon's sarcasm, James looked at him with an unprecedentedly serious face "What the hell did you do since the last time we have met? Do you know you almost got yourself into big troubles?"
Sitting down on one of the chairs, Eragon was mildly surprised "Big troubles? Since the last time we met, I have only hunted the pirate Arlong! Are you saying hunting pirates can get me into trouble?"
"Sigh, a Marines Captain of the 16th Branch named Nezumi was just here, he adamantly demanded I cancel your application to the elites training camp at the Marine headquarter!" Releasing a sigh, James took his seat in front of Eragon and started explaining "He didn't say why he wants me to cancel your application… But, he only left sulking when he heard your recruitment was a direct order from Commodore Brannew from headquarters"
Eragon released a cold harrumph and his eyes narrowed dangerously 'That fucker Nezumi! I haven't found the time to kill him but instead of quietly disappearing into the background he comes looking for trouble with me?? I guess today will be a good day to introduce Zeus to the Marines…' After Eragon heard the reason James called him, he understood what needs to be done.
"When was he here?" If Eragon wants to pursue Nezumi, then he needs to find out the accurate time Nezumi left.
"15 minutes ago, but that isn't important!" Thinking Eragon is asking because he took the matter seriously, James was pleased "Anyway, I have expedited your transfer order to the elites training camp, you will leave in two weeks. Please don't make trouble during this time…"
"I understand, you can count on me" Standing up, Eragon quickly left James's office without waiting for his reply or even saying goodbye. When he left the marine base he ducked into a dark alley and used his transformation jutsu.
'Transformation Jutsu!'
Using Chakra change, Eragon covered himself with lightning and ran swiftly towards the direction of the ship docs at breakneck speed.
'I already knew something like this would happen someday, which is why I've never used lightning jutsus without a disguise' Currently Eragon looked like a handsome looking blonde man with green eyes, the same appearance he always has when he uses his lightning jutsu 'If Nezumi just left a few minutes ago, then I should catch up to him in a short while, I should probably wait until he leaves the docks before I kill him'
"Mmm?" Eragon moved swiftly while he was considering his course of action when he suddenly noticed a commotion on the road. People were gathered in a circle around something, blocking his path.
"Do you think we should help her? that poor woman…"
"No, she was with the pirate, just let her die"
"I still can't believe they managed to get into the city without anyone noticing... Luckily the Marines acted time"
"I hear you, I was scared shitless earlier!"
As Eragon was about to circle around the people obstructing his way and move on, he heard some of the passersby talking to one another. Getting a bad feeling he decided to see for himself what's going on, pushing the people out of the way he soon reached the inner circle and got the fright of his life.
"Caroline!!" Shooting like an arrow he reached Caroline's side instantly, finding her lying in a pool of blood, pale like a corpse. The expression on Eragon's face changed in an instant as the aura around him was going out of control. At this moment, a powerful and vast aura swept out from his body like a volcanic eruption, mixed with the sound of thunder "WHO DID THIS?!"
*Bang! Bang! …*
The people surrounding him were thrown backward fiercely, hitting the buildings behind them with such force that some people coughed blood and blacked out immediately.
Putting his hand on Caroline's chest, he managed to feel very faint heartbeats, so weak he almost missed it. Knowing time was of the essence, Eragon took her into his arms and quickly jumped Into a nearby deserted alley and used seals to lock the entrance, making sure no one could disturb him.
'It's not working! It's not working!' Using his Medical Ninjutsu, Eragon put his hands on Caroline's chest and tried to stop the bleeding. The bleeding slowed down but it didn't stop completely, and Caroline continued to turn even paler than before 'I need to think, what can I do??'
He clenched his hands into fists and exuded a violent, murderous aura. His own heartbeat was like drums hitting strongly against his chest like he was in the middle of a marathon. Knowing he must stay calm if he wants to save Caroline, Eragon took deep breaths until he managed to calm down after half a minute. 'My Medical Ninjutsu is working, just not well enough… I need to increase my chakra control!'
Finally thinking straight, Eragon figured what he needed to do, he immediately opened the system and used all of his available experience points on the skill [Chakra Control], raising it to level 7.
[Chakra Control level 7 (0/65,000)
Allows the user to mould chakra more efficiently. The higher the user's chakra capacity reserves, the harder it is to use various techniques.
Please take notice: if the user's Chakra capacity increase while the Skill [Chakra Control] stay the same, then the chakra control percentage may drop nonetheless.
Current Chakra Control: 70%
+50% increased strength to all Ninjutsu techniques]
Using his Medical Ninjutsu again, the effects were noticeably different from before. The wound closed a lot faster and the bleeding stopped completely 'Now she needs a blood transfusion, if I remember correctly her blood type is A+ while mine is O+'
Quickly creating a shadow clone, he sent the clone to bring a blood kit so he could use blood transfusion inside the alley. He didn't want to move Caroline more than absolutely necessary.
'I shouldn't have left her alone even if it was only for a few minutes, I thought she would be safe inside the city' Looking at Caroline getting paler by the second, Eragon couldn't help but starting to have feelings of self remorse. Since they have reached the city and stayed at the hotel together, he didn't use his shadow clones to guard Caroline and Nami, thinking there was no need since they were inside the city where it was safe. He believed that since there was a large Marine base with many marines patrolling the city at all times, nothing bad could happen to them inside the city. Well, apparently he was wrong, no place is safe enough it seems...
The clone returned after several minutes with the blood kit, and Eragon quickly used the needle to prick himself and Caroline and laid down next to her while the clone continued using Medical Ninjutsu on Caroline.
'That's right, where is Nami?? Weren't she together with Caroline?' As he was waiting for the blood transfusion to work, it suddenly hit him, he didn't see Nami anywhere. Luckily for him, he left a seal on the girls so that he could always know about their location, just like the seal he put on his ship.
Concentrating, he could feel Nami's presence on the west side of the island, apparently, she was at sea and by every passing minute, she was getting further and further away from him.
A trace of suspicion flashed past Eragon's eyes 'What's going on? is it possible that someone kidnaped Nami and shoot Caroline? But why?'
Concerned about Nami's safety, he Immediately sent a shadow clone disguised as the blonde persona to chase after Nami. As chakra coursed madly through the shadow clone body, he used lightning chakra change and his speed was extremely fast.
It was only after half an hour that Caroline's paleness started to fade and change with a pink look. After all the blood Eragon passed to her, it would be surprising if the paleness didn't disappear.
Noticing Caroline's heartbeat and breathing return to normal, a wave of relief swept through his heart. Stopping the blood transfusion he picked Caroline gently into his arms before he disappeared from the alley.
….
Meanwhile, Eragon's blonde shadow clone was running on the sea, getting closer and closer to Nami's location. Until eventually he saw a marine ship on the horizon, and after checking with the seal he was sure Nami was on the Marines ship.
'What the fuck? The marines took Nami?' Although he was quite bewildered, Eragon knew what he must do. Diving into the sea, he swam swiftly towards the marine ship underwater, completely unseen. It wasn't his first time rescuing someone from captivity, and the first rule was to never alert your enemy before you save the hostage!
Reaching the ship, he made sure no one saw him as he climbs and enters one of the ship's windows. Spreading his awareness to cover the entire ship, he could sense all of the people's movements on the ship. Focusing on Nami's location, he did his best to maneuver around the ship without being seen, moving deeper and lower inside the ship. Eventually, reaching what could be seen as prison cells.
Moving his gaze on the cells, his eyes eventually stopped when he saw orange hair.
