Chapter 4: Grandma

Jordan continues on leading the group to his house until he suddenly stopped to turn around and see that Edward was walking next to Li Wei. He waited for everyone to stop walking as he takes out his iPhone 7 to see that his mom texted him. He let's out a long deep sigh as he looks up at Edward, "My mom texted me to come home quickly, I have to catch you all another time." His voice sounded a bit disappointed as he puts his phone away.

Edward walks up to Jordan and puts a hand onto his shoulder, "Thanks anyway man."

Jordan felt a little of encouragement before running off to his home and feeling his friend's hand fall off of his shoulder. Leaving his friends behind to head on their own ways.

Edward looks over at Rosy, "Time for us to head home as well. I promised mom that we would be back early and since the mayor's daughter is dead, we might as well hurry."

Rosy nods and walks beside Edward as they both waved goodbye to their friends.

The walk was peaceful and quiet until the sounds of the sirens from police cars trying to find the car that has ran over Rebecca's body. Making the air hard to call peaceful as Edward and Rosy walk home. Not saying a word to each other as they watch cars go by and the ambulance stroll Rebecca's deceased body away with the mayor's SUV in toe. Going at a fast speed as though the mayor could just hit the back of the ambulance at any given second. The strong winds coming from the 2 vehicles made Rosy's hair fly into her face as Edward didn't have much of a problem with his hair as Rosy did. Their shoes clicking against the concrete below them as Rosy held onto her binders as Edward holds onto his bookbag. Waiting to offer a hand over to Rosy in case she needs it; which she didn't need help for.

It took the duo up to an hour to get to Edward's house. They had to go through a walk way through a nearby forest to try and avoid the church that lies a block away from Edward's house. It was not known to Edward as to why his family decided it would be a great idea to just buy a house that is near the church that legibly has reporting's of people dying at and missing at. Rosy has heard of Prof. Guligs wanting to go to the church for a field trip, but since Rebecca died by an unknown car. Who knows if there will be a field trip. It wouldn't bug Edward and Rosy as long as they don't have to go.

Edward hears his phone going off and takes it out to see that Markil has texted him, "Huh... First time Markil actually texted me in 3 years." He says in an unamused voice.

Rosy looks at the text message and reads, "Dear loser, we need to talk tomorrow during lunch time, don't worry about bringing your lunch money. I will make sure that you earn it. Winkey face." She stops reading and looks at Edward who puts his phone into his right pocket, "You're famous."

"Don't want to be." Edward walks up his driveway to see that his mother and father are home. He let's a sigh and walks up to the front door. He takes out a gold key and puts into the lock as he turns his head a bit to see Rosy walk up behind him. Not to close, but enough to where Edward or the door won't hit her. He smiles a little and unlocks the door. He is greeted with his mom, dad, little brother and sister, and his grandmother standing in a blue living room which has matching furniture.

The couches is dark brown soft cushion with blue and brown pillows on each side. The table that lays in the center while being on the cream colored carpet; digging into the floor. It is a dark oak wooden table with 4 legs with a squarish glass inside of a wooden frame that marks out where the glass is starting from. It has a grey potted bamboo that is small enough to be in the house, every newspaper that is known to the news about the church that lays miles away, and a cup of tea at somewhat near the lower right edge that is facing away from a flat screen tv that is being held up by a dark marble stand that looks to be wood, but isn't.

Edward takes his shoes off at a metal foot stand by the door. Looking over his shoulder to see his pink button up bloused with light blue jeans grandma. Her arms were crossed as her square glasses glaring underneath the circle fan. Her short light puffy white hair bounces as she looks outside.

"I felt something."

"Rebecca's death?" Edward says sarcastically. He moves out of the way for Rosy to take off her shoes. He looks back up to see his mother looking at him angrily.

Rosy turns her head towards the grandmother, "Are you hungry, Mrs. Johnson?"

"Call me, Belle." Belle says as her blue eyes land onto the young girl before her. She walks up to Edward and taps his left cheek with her right pointer finger, "I am not hungry, but someone is at the front door."

The front door knocked. Forcing Rosy and Edward to look at each other. Not thinking that someone would follow them home.

Mrs. Johnson walks up to the front door to see the mayor standing in front of the doorway, "Ms. Smithers, what brings you here?"

The mayor looks at Edward as she walks into the house. Noticing the mother walking out of the way for her to come in. She points a finger at Edward, "This is your fault... THIS IS YOUR FAULT!" She was about to punch Edward in the face if it wasn't for Edward's mother holding the mayor back. Ms. Smithers was fighting to get out of Mrs. Johnson's grasp until she felt herself being thrown out of the house. She turns her brown eyes onto the woman before her. Pointing the exact same finger that she has pointed at Edward at the woman before her, "YOUR SON IS DEAD!"

Belle walks to the doorway and looks at the mayor, "You call yourself a mayor? Get your head out of your butt and realize that my grandson done nothing to harm your daughter. Get off this lawn before I call the state governor and yes, I do have his number." She backs up from the doorway and closes it on the mayor. She turns to look at her daughter, "You allowed that chick in this house, Anna?"

Anna shakes her head and walks over to the couch that was near Edward. Sitting down on it. She looks behind the couch's backside to look at her son after a few short seconds, "Dinner is in the oven. Me and your father are going to head out of town for a few weeks. Your grandmother here is going to take care of you."

"I am not cooking." Belle walks over to the love seat that matches the couch. She flops down on it and looks up at Edward, "Don't worry about what that loser says, she is just upset that her daughter died because of some guy running her over. Which I don't mind, but she made this town become a palace for that privileged brat."

Edward felt happy that his grandmother is here. Without her, he would be feeling worse because of everything. He is happy that he doesn't have to deal with Rebecca hurting the twins or any of his friends' feelings anymore. It was a huge relief, but the true question begins... Who killed her? Edward heads up some creamed colored staircase as he hears Rosy, grandmother, and mother talk about something that he blocked out. He looks into a deserted hallway until he turns his eyes to see his closed bedroom door. It was a white door with a keep out sign perfectly digitally designed by Li. He appreciates what Li does for him.

Edward grabs onto a golden handle and turns it to reveal his red painted walled room. His bed was black as he covered the walls with bands and writers. He walks a bit into his room and closes the door behind him. He turns his head around to see a ghost of Rebecca standing in front of him. Shaking his violently, Edward looks back up to see that the ghost of Rebecca was no longer there. That was not planned...

Edward throws his bookbag over to an oak wooden desk as he walks over to his bed and lies down on it. His back laying against the messed up comforters as he stares at the fan before him. His room was dark as he didn't turn on the lights nor the fan, but he didn't need to. The room gets cold either way. He closes his eyes and let's sleep take over him. Letting him enter the dream realm as he hears the talking from downstairs engulf into his head...
