A few hours went by as Edward fell into the dream realm. Letting sleep consume his every being as he dreamt about the church down the street. Walking in the parking lot in front of the construction before him. Its cursing walls mimic his every movement as though someone was inside copying him and making the building move. The windows began to drip blood as screams from inside of the church broke through the dream realm spell that was casted onto Edward. Breaking him out of the slumber that he was happily in after a long day.
Edward sprung up from his bed as he felt his legs become numb. Trying to get onto his feet as he felt his legs tense up. The more and more he tries to get off the bed, the more his legs does not behave. His muscles began to curse at him as he tries to move, but couldn't. He lies back down on his messy bed. Looking at the ceiling before him. He felt his eyelids become a bit heavy as he felt the dream realm casting another sleep spell on him, but this time, before he could close his eyes. He saw blood oozing off of the ceiling and onto his bed.
The walls began to turn into windows as the bed began to disappear. Letting the limp Edward fall onto the ground. The hard and broken floor pierced into his back as rusted nails that aren't nailed into the ground, sprung into Edward's back. Poking through his skin and veins as he felt his body being penetrated by the nails. A scream was caught in his throat, but Edward's mouth couldn't open. He felt weak and his head started pounding in pain. His brown eyes continues on staring at the ceiling before him until he sees footsteps approaching him.
Each step was becoming harsher as each foot was placed onto the hard wood. Making the old wood almost break underneath it. The footsteps starts to become lighter as it soon stop before him. A woman with long curly white hair looking down at him with pale icy blue eyes staring down at him. She was about to bend down and grab Edward's face with her left hand. Blood dripping out a magic circle carving that was engraved into the hand. The blood would land onto Edward's face as he couldn't move. He continues on staring at the magic carving on the hand. He wanted to touch it to see if it's real, but at the same time, he is scared of doing so...
A loud knocking ranged throughout Edward's room, forcing him to open his eyes. Looking around to see if it was real or not. He uses his right hand to touch his face. Feeling sweat going down his face. It was sticky, but once he removed his hand from his face. He saw blood on his palm. He looks at it until he hears knocking on his door again.
Edward quickly gets off of his bed to get the blood off of his hand. Almost yelling, "Hold on!" He runs through a white doorway that leads into his small bathroom.
It has black and white checkered tile floor, the walls half white and half black. The top part of the walls that reach the ceiling was white as for the bottom half was black. There was a white squarish sink with black handles near the doorway, a white toilet that was right next to it, and there was a similar coloring shower in the right corner. The shower was big enough for 2 people, but that was it.
Rosy's voice was heard from the side of the door, "Your parents left an hour ago! They knocked earlier, but you didn't answer!" She says cautiously. Not trying to be mean about what she said or anything.
Edward turns on the sink and rinses off the blood. Looking up to see a mirror that has been recently attached to the bathroom just last week. It was broken because of Edward punching it out of frustration. He turns off the water and puts his hands onto the rim of the sink as he hears Rosy opening up his bedroom door and coming into the room. He hears her gasp as he turns only his head to Rosy while becoming confused as to why she is gasping.
Rosy quickly runs over to Edward and touches his back, "Y-Your back... It has a nail in it..."
Edward's eyes went wide as he stands up straight and feels his back. Feeling the nail being stuck in his back. His eyes went wide. Realizing the dream wasn't a dream. The blood was real, everything that happened to him was real. He didn't hear Rosy talking as he felt her hand grab onto the nail and yanked it out of him. Making his entire back hurt.
Rosy quickly grabs a face cloth and puts it over where the nail was at. Wondering how it got there. She places the nail onto the floor before grabbing another face cloth that was on a silver rail behind her. Her somewhat not busy hand grabs onto a handle at the sink and turns it on. Seeing water rushing down. Not knowing what temperature it was at. She forced the face cloth underneath the water and brings it over to Edward's back. Picking up the backside of his shirt and seeing the wound becoming purple. A gag almost left Rosy as she begins to clean the wound, "How in the world did you get a nail stuck in your back?" Her Canadian accent clearly visible at this time.
Edward shrugs, "I am not sure. I thought it was a dream..."
"A dream?" She finishes up cleaning the wound. Seeing rust and dirt come out of it. She felt her stomach sicken as she runs the cloth through the running water again, cleaning off the rust and dirt off the cloth, "What kind of dream was it?"
"I don't know how to describe it other than that it felt so real. The ceiling was covered in blood, the walls were windows... It looked like the inside of the church, but I couldn't see anything else other than the windows and the ceiling." Edward looks at himself in the mirror. He makes his eyes land onto the girl cleaning his wound.
Rosy continues with the process of cleaning the wound, "Than this dream might've been a warning in not going to the church?"
"I don't know. Prof. Guligs wants us to go there for a field trip." Edward looks away from Rosy.
"I don't think that will happen any time soon for both you and I. We are practically neighbors with that church, we don't need ta go there." She stops cleaning the wound and places the cloth underneath the running water. Rosy walks out of the room for a few short seconds before going inside of the bathroom with a roll of bandages. She begins to wrap up the wound, "That church gives me bad vibes."
Edward knew that the church is giving off horrible vibes, but from what he saw. He has rising questions: Who is the women with white hair? Why does she have a magic circle marking on her hand? What is the message is he receiving?
Edward feels Rosy finishing up bandaging his back as he stands up. Letting his shirt fall back into place, he turns to see his dear friend and sister, "Thank you."
Rosy smiles as she turns and walks away, "No problem! Just make sure that you at least eat dinner!" She left the room as she leaves Edward all by himself.
Edward turns towards the mirror before heading downstairs. Turning off the lights in his room as he closes his bedroom door. He looks down at the handle to see that his hand is pale as snow. He let's go of the door handle as he notices that his hand was a bit scratched. Not knowing where it came from, he left it alone. He turns away from his door as he walks towards the staircase to see his grandmother putting on her shoes, "Where you going?"
Belle turns her head towards the younger generation, "Going to the store. I need alcohol and your mother doesn't want me to drink, but I want to drink so screw her." She smiles as she opens up the door and walks through it while closing the door behind her.
Edward shakes his head and finishes walking down the stairs. He turns the corner to see Rosy leaving the kitchen.
"Did Belle leave?"
"Yeah."
"Where is she going?"
Edward begins walking into the kitchen, "Heading to the store."
Rosy turns to Edward, "For?"
"Alcohol." Edward walks up to a black fridge. Opening it to see the different kinds of food in it. He hears the front door slam shut. He closes the fridge door as he walks a bit to see that Rosy was nowhere in sight. He shrugs and takes out his phone to see that Li and Maria both have texted him. A frown tugs on his lips as he reads both wanted to be his field trip partner. They want to go to the church even after hearing that deaths happened there. There is some relief that Jordan has some common sense that haunted places aren't the best places to go on a field trip. Especially one with missing people in.
Edward speaks on text-to-speech, "Sorry you 2 crazy clowns, but I am not sure if I want to go on the field trip." He stops pressing on the button as he walks in the living room. Putting his phone onto his lap as he sits down. Feeling relief of not having the nail in his back anymore. Not knowing how the nail got there in first place was very confusing. His dark brown eyes lays at the tv before him as he hears his phone go off. He picks it up to see that Li has texted him in wanting to call.
Edward presses the call button on his phone and begins to wait for Li to answer. Once he hears the other side no longer ring, "What's up man?"
"How come you don't want to go on the field trip?" Li asks concerned.
"Because man, that church is reported to be haunted and our history teacher is a lunatic." Edward grabs onto a remote that sits on the left arm of the couch.
"That is true, but the reason why me and Maria asked if you want to be our partner for the field trip because of the popular kids."
Edward turns on the tv and waits for it to turn on, "What about them? Why do you guys care about what they say?"
"Not about what they say man rather what they are doing. They have the twins hostage." Li says urgently.
"What?! Why?!" Edward sits up while dropping the remote onto the ground below him.
"Because they think that we killed Rebecca and now they want revenge. They also told me and Maria that if we don't go, they are going to feed the twins to Markil's uncle's lions."
"Doesn't Markil have other things to worry about than Rebecca's death?" Edward narrows his eyes and puts his elbows onto his knees.
"No."
Edward rubs his eyes with his free hand. Hearing the front door open, he turns his head to see Rosy walk in with the now drunken grandmother. He points at Belle as he stares at the drunken woman before him and Rosy.
Rosy wipes some hair out of her face, "Don't ask and come help me with carrying her to your parents room."
Edward quickly says to Li, "I will have to call you back. My grandmother is drunk and Rosy needs help carrying her." He hangs up on Li before he can answer. He gets off of the couch and runs over to Rosy. Grabbing onto Belle's legs and helping Rosy bring her to the room.
Rosy cautiously takes steps as she looks over at Edward, "What you and Li were talking about?"
"Apparently the popular kids have the twins hostage." Edward also takes cautious steps in not falling nor letting the grandmother go.
"Why do they have the twins hostage?" Rosy's voice becomes concerned.
"Because they think that we killed Rebecca."
"I mean..." Rosy smiles at Edward, "I mean we didn't kill her, but we are happy that she is dead."
Edward smiles back at her as they go to his parents room, "So now we are forced in going on the field trip for the twins."
Rosy sighs heavily as she places the top part of Belle's body onto the bed. She watches Edward finish up with putting his grandmother onto the other side, "We are forced in going to that church?"
Edward looks at Rosy and nods. Not saying another word.
Rosy takes in a deep breath, "Hope that you are ready for Prof. Guligs preaches about that place."
Edward rubs the back of his neck with his left hand, "I don't know about that."
"The old man might have a weird vibe to him, but his words mean well." Rosy begins to leave the room.
Edward follows her out of the room, "You can say that again..." He closes the door. Letting the darkness in consuming the grandmother.
Belle opens up an eye as she puts a hand into her pocket and pulls out a flask. Opening it up and taking a sip out of it, "Ahh, damn kids..." She closes the flask and puts it on a blue circular side table next to her before going back to sleep.
