Chapter 45: The First Combat @ DIP Quarters

Slavica was indeed balancing herself over the bloody strings of Gwen as soon as she was mentioned. She was grinning and already on her usual side but at the same time, something was indeed different from her. She was emitting what she found within herself because of the help of Gwen which she'll be forever thankful for.

"I thought you never going to invite me." Slavica smirked as she offered her gentle hand to Gwen. Gwen smiled and grabbed her hand willingly before she was pulled up to her bloody strings.

"As if I would leave you behind, we're a couple. We'll grow together." Gwen sweetly chuckled as soon as she get up beside Slavica. She even kissed Slavica's mask that she made for her had been removed like a fading smoke in the air.

"Shall we, my queen?" Slavica asked like a knight that she always will be and Gwen smiled because she knew that she was not addressing it to her long gone queen but hers.

"Sure, lead the way." Gwen said and Slavica smirked making her energy spread like wildfire. It was giving Slavica an advantage to locate even more of the other fallen rogues around the perimeter.

'Position already?'

"On cue, Tucker, be the volcano. Yui controls his flames and Irina your blue flame familiars." Slavica commanded that everyone responded and stand by.

As Slavica's energy was spreading in a such wide range and one by one she smirked at finding the rest of the fallen rogues. Sensing the flow of what Slavica just found, Gwen began making her bloody strings move and turned their bloody color to bright gold.

"Cue." Gwen informed everyone on the team because what she did to her strings around the perimeter of the main DIP quarters was too bright gold.

The bright gold that was surrounding the entire perimeter was totally blinding which made the fallen rogues stop advancing. They were all looking straight at it while Tucker smashed the earthly ground with one powerful punch from his flaming knuckle as soon as he heard Gwen's cue. He immediately released his flame through the ground and formed heat that was ready to explode at every point where the fallen rogues were located.

"Vica, I'll activate my other strings just in case they managed to get away from it." Gwen informed Slaiva of what might happen.

"I don't mind, I'm preparing for it as well." Slavica agreed since she was also thinking the same thing when the explosion happened.

Their guess was right, some of the fallen rogues managed to dodge the flames as soon as they exploded from their spot. They were quick to dodge every fountain of flames that erupted from the earthly ground so suddenly.

"Like we thought." Slavica said and Gwen chuckled as she pulled away from Slavica's hold.

Gwen began walking on her bloody strings and with one flick of her fingertip at the bloody strings, it began to send a very strange vibration. Any fallen rogue came in contact with it will automatically be wrapped by the blood strings which was also a cue for Irina's familiar to kill it.

"Vica, the sight was totally not a good one." Gwen didn't like the earth will be covered with the flame which made it look like they were in an inferno.

"Me either." Slavica sighed but totally agreed with what Gwen was saying and made a tapping sound over her hand.

"Then let's clean this place." Gwen said and her calm facade turned into a very serious one which activate what she just used during her training with Slavica.

Gwen positioned herself on the bloody strings like a spider on the hunt while Slavica was also readying herself to cut everything in her way. Their stunts were very intimidating and ready for close combat action. Then one simple roar of groaning pain from the fallen rogues around the perimeter, Slavica collected herself before shooting herself to where it was coming from.

"Cleansing light." Slavica muttered to nobody as she dashed toward the group of fallen rogues that she was heading to.

With a powerful strike, Slavica pulled her sword out from her side and immediately made different kinds of sword swings that slashed every fallen rogue that she passed by. All of those fallen rogues in her way could not anticipate her sudden move because they were already gone. They were already chopped into body portions which exactly Tucker's volcanic eruptions around the ground, quickly burned those chopped bodies into ashes.

"What a nice cleaning." Slavica just muttered before going for another strike since some fallen rogues were still charging at her.

"Hundreds…I'm not sure about their number anymore." She clicked her tongue as she noticed something was not right again in their battle.

"Gwen, be wary. Something was not right. They were increasing like what happened around the cabin." Slavica immediately informed Gwen who was still on her spot.

'Don't worry. Already marked everything around the perimeter.'

"Sensing something?" Slavica asked as soon as she heard that response from Gwen while she was swinging her swords that making some of the fallen rogues be blown away.

'Don't you?'

"I do." She smirked when she was asked in return.

'Then we're good. Keep your sense open but not that high, I might affect you in case it already hit the target.'

"Alright, I'll make the others stand by and protect the barrier." Slavica agreed and let her command be known to her team.

'Good.'

As Slavica was preoccupied with her own spot, Gwen turned her attention to the fallen rogues who were patiently waiting to be saved by them. She went down to them and with her glowing hands, they were all being wrapped by the forgiving sun.

"Be released to what's binding you and change for the better version of yourself." Gwen told them and when those words hit every part of their being they were all being lifted.

They all feel light and free from what was binding them. They were all looking thankful to Gwen before her eyes turned in pure mauve that sent those saved fallen rogues inside the DIP quarters. When they were already gone and saved, Gwen went up to her bloody strings again and it was her time to do something for the quarters.

"Let's play something for our guests tonight." Gwen muttered while smirking as jumped from one string to another and when she found the right string to play with, she stopped.

She even positioned herself and raised her hands just right on her shoulders' level before making some flicking motions over her bloody strings. In every touch that she did, they were releasing a different sound that slowly took form into a melody. The song in the background was Transparent by the Paper Melody and it was echoing around the perimeter.

"Let's take something away from you." Gwen muttered as her eyes once again shifted into something either good or bad.

Her body began to be covered with her veins that were beating and glowing upward until they reached her face. It stayed on around her eyes and her skin turned pale white as if she turned into a vampire but not. Gwen was just pale and the energy that she was steaming out was totally bright like a sun.

She whispers softly in his ear (I'm taking it all)

Is he the only one she wants to hear?

She refuses to repent

She'll be restless, breathless

Searching for what she missed

"Let's see what you've hiding to make you fall into madness like this." Gwen whispered with her cold and mighty voice that send too much imperious energy that made everything or everyone stopped and halted in their tracks.

Gwen let her brightness flow drastically fast to the bloody strings that were spread throughout the entire perimeter of the DIP quarters. As it passed through the bloody and bright strings, all of the remaining fallen rogues around the perimeter has been marked.

Give me your eyes

For I see not with my own

Give me your lungs

I breathe his breath, not my own

I'll take your soul

I need something to call my own

All of their eyes were set to look in one direction and they could not divert it from whatever tried to break them from it. Each of the fallen rogues around the perimeter was being lured into something that they have never encountered before. The radiating brightness was wrapping around their lungs, squeezing them to slowly lose their breath but one thing those fallen rogues didn't realize what was happening to them anymore.

"Selfishness. Greediness. Domination. Power. Money. Etc…all of the desires were normal for any creature but being too much without consideration if they already hurting somebody just to get them, that's the worse way to achieve what they've desired." Gwen muttered what she saw at each fallen rogue's reasons for their fall into madness.

"I have to cut them and restore the balance from within, so, a new form of life will be born." She continued which everyone in her team heard about especially Slavica.

Slavica knew that Gwen was in her different zone as soon as she heard her voice speaks like that. She knew that Gwen was once again awakened into something that made her feel so proud.

"She's keeping up with me." Slavica smirked proudly and leave some commands to her men.

"Guys, position pillar. Gwen was already in her new awakening that will surprise us all." Slavica commanded her team who gasped but they never expect any less from Gwen. She was indeed their promising teammate of them.

Desperate and lonely, she's dead in despair

She moans, and she groans in the deathly still air

Hollow to all but the ones who can see

That without someone now she would cease to be

As Slavica's team was positioning themselves to protect Gwen, Gwen, herself was too preoccupied with what she desired to do to the remaining fallen rogues around the perimeter. Each of the remaining fallen rogues began gasping and groaning as they all feel the pain of being breathless.

Stolen from his mind, passions of his kind

Nothing left behind

Haunting his ear

Gwen taking was not just their breath but their madness and everything that pushes them to fall. Meaning, their entire existence. But when she finally moved away from her spot, she began making some of their skins melt in the brightness that was lightened around them. Then their flesh began to roast on being directly hit by the heat that was radiating around them. But what Gwen really does to each of her contact with them was something she had never done before.

"Let's take them away from you." Gwen whispered to every fallen rogue that she came to greet before piercing them with her swords. It was not just piercing their flesh to the bones but it was sucking their energy and life force until decayed into nothingness. Their entire existence was gone.

When they were all gone, Gwen snapped her fingertips and everything around the DIP quarters' perimeter all came back to it usual form. There was no trace of being attacked or bloodstains from those fallen rogues.

"You clear everything without being assisted by us, Gwen?" Slavica appeared to Gwen's right and walked to her.

"I'm pissed that's why. Plus, I'm hungry." Gwen answered as she let herself be engulfed in the loving and protective arms of her lover, Slavica.

"Since when you turned into a foodie monster, Gwen?" Tucker teased as he approached their spot with his mate beside him.

"Shut up, Tuck. I could feel Yui's nearing her heat." Gwen rolled her eyes and reminded Tucker about the coming of Yui's heat while she was still snuggling around Slavica's arms.

"Already?" Tucker reacted and looked over the blushing Yui. It was confirming what Gwen had mentioned.

"Irina, food?" Gwen turned to Irina as soon as she came to their spot and was gently put down by her blue flame monster which looked like a golem.

"Okay, but Slavica will join me." Irina chuckled at how Gwen loved Irina's cooking even though she had a sweet tooth.

"Oh, I wanna taste it." Gwen winked at Slavica when she heard that from Irina.

"Don't expect too much from it. I'm no cook but I can." Slavica grinned but shyly scratched the back of her nape when Gwen gave her an excited look.

"Still, it's your cooking." Gwen insisted on having a taste of Slavica's cooking.

But as soon as they entered back into the DIP quarters, they were welcomed by glares and those fallen rogues that they'd saved were being held captive. Sharp objects were also pointed at them when they got inside which surprised them. They wanted to ask about what was going on until those team leaders who rejected them came on speaking.

"Sorry, but you let them inside and they were not invited by the DIP. They weren't allowed to be here." The smirking team leader speaks first.

"I see, then I'll mark them." Gwen firmly but in a sarcastic tone when she countered him.

"You're not a DIP member so don't fool yourself, little girl." the second team leader, a lady spoke back at Gwen's comment.

"I see…Vica, are they one of the elite teams in the DIP?" Gwen turned to Slavica and asked loud enough for everyone to hear.

"Yes, why?" Slavica answered and wondered at the same time.

"I don't sense it from them what I could sense from you." Gwen just shrugged her shoulders which angered those two team leaders.

"WHY YOU?!" they both reacted at the same time.

"Hit the nerve?" she sarcastically asked as she provoked them. They were about to retaliate when Slavica beat them to it.

"Don't provoke her. You'll die." Slavica warned them but they just laughed.

"As if she could. She's nothing." the laughing team leader said before giving a weird vibe to Gwen. Gwen sensed that he was a pervert which made her roll her eyes in annoyance.

"I'm not 'nothing' but I am something." Gwen said as her voice shifted quickly to the recent awakening that happened to her.
