It doesn't take long before we reach her chambers and there is no sign of Kai following yet. He must still be in the arena. But I push the bastard out of my mind as we go over to the doors and I notice they are open a jar and I can hear voices. His voice… his heavenly voice.
We slip inside and I see Frigga on the sofa by a table, with glasses of wine poured along with a few snacks. But I'm focused on the man pacing beside her, Loki and I can't believe he is here. He is actually here which means I can tell him too. I can finally tell him as long as Kai doesn't suspect Loki is in here with me, I could tell him everything and kiss him. Be with him. But I have hurt him and it makes me frown considering he does look depressed and agitated. Clearly worried about me.
Neither of them have noticed us as Frigga is trying to calm Loki who is pacing while ranting, sounding so worried and hurt.
"What if this doesn't work mother? I can't lose her to that tyrant not when I have spent years trying to find her." He signs in frustration, "I don't know how to help her. She isn't herself and he must have cursed her or spelled her or something. He is controlling her somehow and every time I talk to her… I wish she would talk to me."
Oh Loki.
Frigga smiles at him reassuringly, "We will help her son but you won't be able to if you drive yourself mad. So relax, have a drink, she could be here any… minute."
She notices us and Loki follows her gaze as he picks up a glass of wine from the table. She smiles at me as does Loki who looks so relieved to see me. I guess apart of him didn't think I would come. God, I wish I hadn't hurt him so much but I had to protect our daughter. But he is here and now he can know the truth. God, I want to run into his arms but I need to explain first.
We move into her chambers and Sif shuts the doors and in seconds, I see the doors shine and the enchantment has been activated. I am safe and I feel my whole body relax. No more acting but it's best I check it's the same enchantment. Just in case it's changed as I can't risk my daughter's safety.
"Enchantment?" I ask Sif, "What does it do?"
She smiles at me, "It prevents anyone from listening in. So we can talk privately and no one can make out a sound."
I smile and then we turn back to Frigga and Loki as we go over to them. I have to resist running into his arms as we go over and I'm so relieved. I feared I would never get in here and now Frigga can know the truth and Sif can go and save Hope. But it's so much better as Loki is here too and I can tell him at last. I can end his suffering and tell him everything. I can tell him we have a daughter and I can finally stop acting like a bitch. Thank god I remembered the enchantment.
They are both looking at me, noticing I am acting the way I used to and I see hope in Loki's eyes as he looks at me. He smiles and for once I can smile back, not having to hide anymore or keep up the charade.
"Katrina." He smiles, "You came."
I smile, "How could I refuse? And to answer your question he is controlling but not in the way you think."
He looks at me intrigued, surprised by my change in behaviour as Sif sits down on the sofa opposite the one Frigga is on. I join Sif, sitting beside her, and Frigga gestures to us to have a drink. I take a glass and sip the wine, noticing the potion on the table between us. It must be how she wants to restore my memories. Too bad she made it for nothing.
Loki speaks up before I can greet Frigga, "Maybe it's best I leave you to it. I'm sure you would rather speak in private."
I shake my head, "No please stay." He looks at me surprised as do Frigga and Sif, "I want you to stay."
A smile dances on his lips, "Are you sure?"
"More than anything." I say with a smile, "But you could do me a favour?"
He nods, "Sure anything."
"Kai can't know you are here, he would go ballistic. Can you do an illusion of yourself lurking in the corridor so he doesn't know you are here?"
He smiles at me surprised that I know he can do that but complies, his hand shinning green as he creates the clone of himself in the corridor. His hand stops glowing and I know he has done it. Now Kai will have no clue Loki knows and now I can tell them everything. But more importantly, save our daughter.
He looks at me intrigued, "You clearly no more than you're letting on."
I nod as I sip my wine, relaxing back in my seat, "What can I say? I have a silver tongue."
This makes him chuckle slightly before I turn back to Frigga who is smiling at our interaction, trying to work me out.
"Frigga, it's good to see you." I say as I put my glass down.
She smiles, "You as well. Now as Sif has already told you, I have summoned you here as you told my son that you were interested in getting your memories back." I nod and she picks up the potion, "This is the strongest memory potion we have. This will give you your memories back and I insist that you drink it."
I smile as I take the potion from her and look at it, "Thank you Frigga but I don't need to drink it, I don't need to bring my memories back." I put the potion down as I look at Loki, "As I never lost them in the first place."
Their eyes widen and they stare at me in shock and utter disbelief. All three of them are stunned and are speechless. But I'm just looking at Loki who looks shocked but it's replaced with confusion and happiness. He knows I know exactly who he is, how I feel but he does look worried. As they all know I have been lying from the moment I returned and he wants to know why. He deserves to know why after the way I acted.
He moves closer, putting his wine back down, "You never lost your memories?"
I shake my head, "I lied Loki, I had to. He made me."
"Why all the deception Katrina?" Frigga asks me before Loki can speak, "And why only tell us now? You have been here for days."
I look at her, "Because I couldn't speak openly with Kai watching my every move. But I remembered your chambers were enchanted so I knew if I told my husband that I wanted to remember, that you would bring me here." I smile, "And that way he couldn't listen in."
Sif nods, "Which is why you asked me about the enchantment."
"Exactly. I didn't want the bastard listening in, not after what he did." I look at Loki, "But I am pleased you didn't think I was dead considering how much effort Kai put into faking it."
He smiles at that before he moves closer, frowning, "So it was Kai who took you?" I nod, "What happened that day? As I thought you were dead until Tony and Hela made me see sense and made me realise you were alive. And we couldn't find you anywhere and then the past few days… what happened to you?"
I take a breath before I tell him everything, "Well Kai ambushed me in the gardens and he used some sort of spell to stop me from using my magic. I couldn't even speak telepathically. His men pinned me down as he cut my wings off and took them for himself. But the wings crumbled to dust, to pieces and he was pissed. Very pissed. But at the time we had no idea how I survived so he decided to take me and fake my death so he could find out how."
He looks at me surprised, "They crumbled… how strange."
I shrug before I go on, "Well after, I woke up in a cell-like room where he has kept me prisoner for the past 7 years. Cloaking the castle so I couldn't be found and blocking all magic." I tell him, skipping over the giving birth bit, "Then a few days ago, he made me come with him here to Asgard and threatened me. Well blackmailed me to do everything he wanted. He made me lie about having amnesia and how I loved him and not you. All so he could find a trinket that Odin took from him. I was just a distraction so you wouldn't notice him snooping about." I sign in frustration, "But I had no choice. I had to lie and keep us this act."
Loki nods his head slowly, "So I was right, he is controlling you."
"Yes he is." I tell him, "It's why I made up this plan to get in here. So I could tell Frigga and slip out of his grip and get back to you. It was the only way."
They are all silent as they take a moment to digest everything I have said and they are all shocked by it. Barely able to comprehend everything I have told them but they know it makes sense and it explains my behaviour. At least they know now but all I can do is look at Loki. He finally knows nearly everything and he looks so shocked but relieved. He knows I have no feelings or anything towards Kai and that I really want to be with him.
I stand up, moving over to him, "I am so sorry that I hurt you… that I broke your heart like I did. But believe me, I feel nothing but hated towards Kai. I love you, not him and the moment I saw you when I first arrived, I wanted to run into your arms. But I had to lie and keep up this horrible charade to protect her and me. You're my husband and I love you, only you."
He smiles brightly before pulling me closer to him and kissing me, bang on the lips, and the spark between us catches alight. The spark I have missed so long and finally, it's back. I kiss him back as I wrap my arms around his neck as he holds me, both of us getting lost in the intensive love between us. It's explosive, full of desperate desire to be with each other, finally reunited at last and together. How I have missed this feeling, how I missed him. He is desperate to touch me, holding me tightly and so am I. But I'm not free yet and neither is our daughter. I have to finish the plan and tell him he is a father again. God, he knows how to kiss.
We pull apart but he holds me tightly in his arms, not letting me go and I rest my head on his chest as we both savour the moment. Savouring this moment of finally being together, at last.
"I love you too." He whispers, kissing me on the head.
I smile, "Now you know how to kiss." He chuckles at that, "I am so sorry I hurt you. All the lies and the way I acted, I even slapped you."
We pull apart so he can look into my eyes, "I don't care. All I have wanted for the past 7 years is you back with me and you are. And yes I was hurt the past few days but I knew something was wrong and I wasn't going to give up on you. You are my wife and I wasn't going to let you go without a fight." He smiles, holding me tightly, "God I've missed you."
"I've missed you." I say with a smile, "More than what words can say."
He smiles, looking me over, "Are you ok? He hasn't…"
I nod, "I'm ok, well ok as can be expected but thank you, for telling me about Tony."
"It's ok, you deserved to know."
Then he kisses me again before we go over to the sofa where I am pulled into a hug by Frigga and Sif. Before they sit back down where they were and Loki sits down beside Sif and I sit beside him. He puts his arm around me and I rest in his arms, breathing in his cologne. God, I love being in his arms again. He is clearly thinking the same as he holds me tightly, not letting me go.
Frigga smiles at me, "I am pleased you two are back together. But we still need to deal with Kai."
Loki nods, "Yeah that tyrant needs to pay for what he has done." He looks at me, "You said he was controlling you, how? How is he doing it? As you clearly couldn't come to me."
I frown, "Believe me I wanted to but he knew out of anyone I would go to, I would go to you. I couldn't even speak to you telepathically as if there was any sign you knew, he would have killed her in a heartbeat. I couldn't risk it."
He looks at me confused, "Her? He has someone else prisoner?" I nod, "Who? Who does he have? Katrina?"
I take a breath, "There is something you need to know Loki, something important and it's the reason I am still alive. The reason why when he cut my wings off, that they crumbled and I didn't die. That I survived and the reason he did all this." I look at him, "Loki, he has our daughter."
