Chapter 71 Death and Breakfast

In moments Loki rolls me over so I'm pinned underneath him and we are about to make love again when there is a knock at our bedroom door. We both whine in disappointment, reluctantly pulling apart and yet we are both smiling. Giggling a little at getting caught but wishing we could go on.

"One minute!" Loki calls out before kissing me on the lips, "Why did we have to get interrupted?"

I laugh, "I know but it's probably important. Go and answer it but remember we are still naked from last night so don't forget to put your clothes on first." I tease.

He chuckles, "Don't worry my angel, the only one who gets to see me naked is you but you should change too. I don't want to give you another spanking for showing off your gorgeous body to a stranger or someone we know."

"Just go." I say, playfully hitting him on the shoulder.

We laugh before he kisses me again and gets out of bed. He uses his magic to change into his pants, trousers, and long green tunic robe before I notice I'm glowing green too. In seconds I'm in a green nightgown with green lace matching bra and panties. It makes me roll my eyes and laugh as Loki goes over to the door, winking and smiling at me. God, he is so full of life and so carefree. It's nice to see considering how sad he has been, especially on the first day I saw him. He was in so much pain and now he is happy. We are both happy and yet I wonder who knocked on the door. I hope it's nothing to do with Kai or at least the news he is finally dead.

I sit up in bed, laying back against the headboard as he reaches the door and opens it. A servant is standing there, a smile on his face and he is holding a letter by the look of it from Odin. They exchange words before Loki takes it and shuts the door. He opens it quickly and I see a smile spread across his face as he reads it. I wonder what is going on, is it about Kai? Or maybe the coronation? We are becoming King and Queen today.

"What is it?" I ask him, desperate to know what is going on.

He looks at me and smiles, coming over to me, "Guess who was executed this morning?" He says with a twinkle in his eye, "I will give you a clue. He's an absolute dick as Tony would say and has a thing for wings."

My eyes widen and I smile brightly, "Kai's dead?"

"Dead as a doornail." He sits back next to me on the bed, "Father wanted to inform us straight away. He was executed by guillotine and then his body and head were burned so he can't be resurrected, just for good measure." He smiles at me, "He's dead."

I shake my head, amazed but smiling, "I can't believe it. Can I?"

He shrugs, holding out the letter, "Go for it. It's just father explaining how he died in a lot of graphic detail. It seems father did everything possible to make sure he stayed dead."

This makes me laugh as I take the letter and quickly skim read it. Loki wasn't joking about the 'graphic' detail. Odin has explained how they made sure his head was cut off, his body chopped into pieces and then all of it burned to dust. He is definitely dead and there is no way he could resurrect even if he tried. But it does sound like Odin enjoyed killing him. And yet saying that it was the last time he could execute someone. Or he just wanted the bastard to stay dead too.

I finish reading and look at Loki, "Make sure he stayed dead? More like he couldn't resist making sure his last execution was a good one. They chopped him up and burned him! It's brilliant!!" I say, sounding so happy about it.

Loki chuckles, "Soo true but I think he wanted him dead as much as I did." He smiles at me, "He's gone Katrina. He's dead and you're safe."

I feel a weight lift off my shoulders as I sign in relief, "Oh thank god. The bastard is dead."

"See? You have nothing to worry about. He's dead and he can't harm you or anyone again. We are safe and your nightmare won't ever come true." He kisses me on the cheek, "And now no one can take you from me again."

This makes me smile as I rest my head on his shoulder, "Good as I don't want to be taken from you again. You're stuck with me forever."

He smiles, kissing me on the head, "Fine with me my angel."

Then he puts his arm around me and pulls me closer so my head is now resting on his chest. So I'm lying in his arms, my hands on his chest and I end up fiddling with his tunic. While he holds me and rubs my back, playing with my hair.

"Oh and I ordered breakfast for all of us." Loki adds, making me smile.

I look up at him, "And that's why I love you."

He chuckles before he kisses me on the lips and I kiss him again. We are tempted to continue where we left off a second ago when I hear a door open, followed by our little girl's voice.

"Mum? Dad?"

I smile as I pull away from Loki and we look towards the side door to Hope's room. It's open and Hope is standing there, wiping her eyes. She's clearly only just woke up, still wearing her nightdress, and looks a bit sleepy. But she is smiling and looks so cute and adorable. Like a little princess, our little girl.

"Hope, did you sleep well?" I ask as I sit up properly.

She nods, moving over to our bed, "Mmm very well Mum. The bed is so comfy and I nearly forgot where I was. But then I heard you cheering and I wanted to see you both. What's going on? Is something wrong?"

"Nothing is wrong Sweetie. Kai is gone." Loki tells her, "He's been executed."

Hope smiles brightly, "Yay!!"

She doesn't even hesitate as she runs over and jumps on the bed, making us laugh. She jumps up and down, spinning about before she stops, a little dizzy. But when she focuses, she looks at us both before moving to sit between us. Sitting down on the pillow and resting between me and Loki. He smiles and kisses her on the head, so happy for her. It makes her giggle and I kiss her too, happy she is ok and safe. Now none of us have to worry about Kai at all. He's gone and we are safe.

She's about to ask something when her belly rumbles and it's such a cute sound. Loki smiles as he puts his arm around her and takes my hand.

"Hungry for breakfast?" I ask her, moving her hair behind her ear, "Your father has already ordered breakfast for all of us."

She grins, "Mmm very hungry. What will there be? Bread and cheese?"

I frown, knowing she is going on about the food that we used to eat. The horrible meals that he used to give us bread and cheese and occasionally soup or stew if we were lucky. My poor darling daughter, she has no idea how good proper meals are. Loki picks up on it, his face pained as he knows what she is going on about.

He speaks up, taking her hand, "There will be loads of food. Like toast, jams, cereals, bacon, sausage, hash browns, mushrooms, beans, and anything you could think of or desire." She licks her lips, "You can have anything you want Hope. No more horrible bits of bread and cheese."

She smiles, "Sounds great dad. When is it arriving?"

There is a knock at the door and Loki smiles as he looks at her, "That will be it now."

Hope squeals with excitement as he gets out of bed again and goes to get the door. In moments servants come in, holding trays full of food which are brought over and put on the end of the bed in front of us. Loki thanks them, even tipping them before they leave and he joins us. Hope looks like she is in candy land as Loki plates her a bit plate of food and gives it to her. She looks so happy as she digs in, moaning at the taste and making me smile. Loki passes me a plate before making a plate for ourselves and we eat together. A happy family and yet we are not complete. Hela isn't here and I wish she could join us for breakfast in bed.

It seems she must have read my mind as there is a knock on the front door and Hela slips in, wearing a bright green gown with a smile on her face. Hope cheers, yelling her name with her mouth half full and it makes us laugh. She is incredibly happy to see her and so is Hela who comes over to us.

"It's good to see you too Hope." Hela says with a smile, "But best to eat with your mouth closed."

Hopes smiles at this and keeps eating as she comes over and joins us. Plating up a plate of food for herself as she sits on the bed and joins us.

"You got the day off Hela?" Loki asks, clearly surprised, "You are normally gone by this time in the morning."

She smiles, finishes a piece of bacon, "I have actually. It seems even the gods are happy that Katrina is back and thought I would like the day off. So I thought I could spend the day with my little sister? Teach her some magic and show her around? As I know you probably want to go to Tony's grave."

"Uncle Tony?" Hope frowns as she looks at me, "He died?"

I frown but nod, "Yeah he did but he's at peace now. He's in Valhalla watching over us, drinking whisky, and having a good time. So we are going to his grave to say goodbye but if you want, you can spend the day with your sister instead?"

Hope beams, "Can I mum? Dad?"

I shrug, "It's fine with me." I look at Loki, "What do you think dad?"

Loki smiles at this, looking at her, "Well... maybe… hmmm."

"Please dad, please." She says, so keen, "I will be good."

"You can but only if you prank Uncle Thor." Loki says with a grin, "It's a family tradition that must be done."

Hope smiles and nods, "Yes yes can I go? Please? Please?"

He nods, "Of course you can sweetie but finish eating first. You're going to need the energy if you're going to be running about, practicing magic, and messing with Uncle Thor."

She squeals in delight and quickly finishes her breakfast, drinking back her juice. We finish eating breakfast and she wipes her face with a napkin, beaming, and full of excitement. She is really looking forward to spending the day with her sister and I'm glad Hela offered. I don't really want to take her to the graveyard with us. I want her to spend her first day in Asgard, having fun and causing mischief. Not having to go to a place of pain and see me cry.

"Can I go now mum?" Hope asks me, beaming at me.

I look at her and smile, "You need to get ready first. Have a shower, do your hair, and chose a dress you want to wear. But don't worry the moment you are ready, you can go and play with your sister."

She grins and Hela speaks up, "I can help her shower and change?"

"Are you sure?" I ask her, "I don't mind helping her."

"It's ok mother, I don't mind." Hela says with a grin, "I want to help my sister and I can always plat her hair or something. It will be a lot of fun."

I smile and give in, "Ok, you can go." I kiss Hope on the head, "Just be a good girl, well, somewhat good."

This makes her giggle and she hugs me, "Thanks Mum." Before she pulls away and hugs Loki, "Thanks Dad."

He kisses her on the head, "Go and have fun. Just be careful and make sure you prank Uncle Thor good for me. He loves snakes, just a hint."

She giggles as she pulls away, "Ok Dad, I'm on it."

I can't help but roll my eyes as she climbs out of bed, waves goodbye to us before she runs back into her room through the side door. We laugh as Loki magics the trays and plates away as Hela gets to her feet and looks at us.

"I got the same letter." Spotting the letter about Kai on my side desk, "He is definitely dead, I checked myself on the other side just in case. So don't worry, Hope is safe and I will look after her."

I smile, "I know you will. Thank you my daughter."

She smiles, saying goodbye to us before following Hope through the side door into Hope's room. I hear them chatting before the doors close and I look at Loki, both of us smiling. We kiss before getting out of bed and going to have a shower together. Which ends up in us making love, impossible to resist each other before we actually shower and get out and change.

Once we are ready, we leave our room and begin making our journey to Earth. Making our way to the stables where Loki helps me onto his horse and we ride to the Bifrost, resting in his arms. And yet as we journey towards the Bifrost, I find myself getting nervous and I feel this horrible pit in my stomach. This sense of dread, nerves, and pain, and also excitement. It's a mix of emotions, piled into one and I know why.

I guess I always knew this day would come. The day Tony would die and I would go and visit his grave. But I'm visiting years after he died, not able to go to his funeral because of Kai so was unable to say goodbye. And now I finally can say goodbye properly and it's going to be strange. Arriving on Earth where Tony is dead and I'm going to see his grave. Where he is buried and honestly I don't know if I'm ready for that. But he is my brother and I need to say goodbye. To say goodbye and make my peace. I'm just not sure how I am going to react but I know I will cry, no matter what.
