CHAPTER 27 - TENSED

Mave was so sleepy but he can't leave Friean because she drops her blanket often and it was so cold. He held the big leaf and never let go of it so that Friean's sleep won't be bothered.

Mave was about to close his eyes when Rex saw him and sat beside him making his nerves awake.

"What are you doing?" Rex playfully asked, "Taking very good care of my sister?"

Mave wasn't able to answer him and just showed him a small smile but in reality, he wasn't able to understand it because his mind was full of sleeping thoughts.

Rex pulled the big leaf from him and said, "Go and sleep!" he was shoving him away. Mave just looked at him, "Go on now! I will stay here. Go and get some sleep. We still have a way to go to be that exhausted."

Mave went to the spot where he and Ace talked a while ago. He decided to sleep there. But before he was able to close his eyes, the smile and answer of Friean never left his mind.

As soon as the sunrise, all of them were prepared to go out and see the deeper part of the forest but Mave was still asleep.

"The royal celebrity was still asleep? I wonder why he was so tired?" Tosh asked with full innocence.

Friean chuckled, "Maybe he was too exhausted about producing the campfire last night and then the rain came."

"I believe he got exhausted for a different reason?" Rex looked at Ace.

Ace raised his brows, "I agree!"

Hoax was just observing all of them and Roi stood up. David was busy fixing the place.

"Stop saying nonsense!" Roi laughed, "You better wake that sleepyhead now, Princess," Meta and Friean looked at each other.

"It was definitely you, Friean," Meta said, "We are not that close."

"Okay fine! Why waking up Mave is a big issue to all of you?" she moves towards Mave and shakes him lightly, "Mave? Hey, Mave! Wake up now, we are about to go."

Mave moved a bit and rubbed his eyes. By the time he was wide awake, he saw Friean sitting beside him and it freaked him out! He runs outside while covering his mouth.

Everyone laughed. Ace looked at Hoax and saw him laughing too.

"What was that?" Friean was confused, "Is there something wrong with the way I look?" and she looked at them.

Rex put his arm around her, "There's nothing wrong about you, Little Sis. You just have to prepare yourself because we are about to go."

Friean pouted and looked in the direction where Mave left.

"The barn is all set," David suddenly entered, "We can go back in here when we finished the days agenda."

"Thanks, David!" Roi said.

"Sure, no worries," he replied.

Mave came back rushing, "I'm sorry about a while ago. I was just shocked. I am not used to having a lot of people around me when I woke up. I am really sorry," he said while vowing down.

"Don't be. We understand," Rex and Ace shook hands.

Friean was just looking at him yet he felt so tensed, "I will not bring anything. Anyway, we will go back here right?"

"Yes, we will. That is why I fixed the roof and made a door," David answered, "All of you too, you can leave your things so that you can move freely."

"Well, that's a good idea. Besides I have nothing to bring. It is best for you guys to go out with fewer things," Meta agreed.

After a while of deciding whether to bring or not to bring some of their things, most of them head out bringing nothing.

"Ah! It's so nice to not having clinging things in my body!" Rex said.

"We've lived like that for years," Tosh, Hoax, and Meta shrugged their shoulders.

"Where will we go now?" Roi asked.

"Uhm," David was about to say something when Tosh suddenly spoke.

"The weather and smell on the East look fine. There would be fewer chances of rain there than in any other direction. Also, wild animals seem to have gathered in the West, so we have to go East," Tosh said with full confidence.

"But isn't it right to go on the West now? Animals would probably go East after their gathering?" David was trying to convince him.

"You may go on your own, David. Animals would probably go North after there. There are traces of there smell in the north," Tosh remained stiff.

"How could you all trust his instincts and smelling ability huh?" David was tensed.

Meta looked at him with disgust, "What are you trying to say, David? Have you gone mad when Snow died? We believe him because I too can feel and smell what he feels. What are you up to?"

Hoax stepped forward, "That's what I can feel too. What are you trying to do?"

"This is not the right time for these guys," Ace was trying to cool the atmosphere, "Can we all agree to go where most of us believes to be the safest direction to go?"

All of them voted for the East except for David who really wants to go to the West.

"Don't blame me if something bad happens," David said before he goes on the East first.

"What's wrong with him? He changed a lot after going out of the room according to Snow," Friean looks worried.

"They have their own circumstances to deal with, Little Sis. Let's mind how you will learn more about this thing? Hmm?" Rex convinced Friean so that she will not be distracted.

"Watch your steps carefully. There are some poisonous thorns were scattered," Tosh said.

"How did you know?" Mave asked.

Tosh lifted his feet and show them, "My veins turned violet," all of them were shocked.

"Oh my gosh! What happened? Are you okay?" Friean wants to rush on to Tosh but Mave hugged him.

"Be careful. He can manage. Don't be ridiculous, Friean," Mave said.

"But he's—"

"I'm fine, Friean. I have been immune to this. I think there's a lot to thank for my training that I haven't noticed but worked on this island," Tosh said and smiled.
