Chapter 5 : Lowering my self-esteem

The magnificent smell of the rain-filled my nostrils making my heart jolt in happiness. The giggling session of mine was stronger while I was trying to hide behind a tree.

"ROSE, come out now babe. Okay, I lose an angry bird." A very familiar, deep, masculine voice told me. Now, as I won, I came out of the woods with a victory smile but soon my smile disappeared as I found no one in front of me. My heart was beating rapidly as the thing I feared the most was losing him.

"Rico, WHERE ARE YOU?" I was shouting like my life dependent on him. Suddenly a pair of hands were wrapped around my waist from behind and pulled me to his rock hard chest. The woodsy scent calmed my nerves instantly as I knew it was him.

"Don't you dare scare me like this, Rico? You almost killed me down there, you know! I would have died. You can't scare me like this. I felt..." I was a blubbering mess. He pulled me closer to his chest leaving peppering kisses on my shoulder sending sparks all through my body as if he was the current that was flowing inside me. That was enough to shut me up.

"I would never leave you angry bird, you know that." His husky voice was making my breath heavier. How could only some words leave me all hot and bothered!

I turn around and play with hugged him tightly as it was one of my habits and I could tell he like that too as much as I did.

"What would I ever do without you?" His voice was too low for me to hear but I knew he meant every word.

"Who said I was leaving you ever?" I looked up getting lost in those deep amber eyes that were filled with intense emotion that anyone would die for.

The blaring sound of my alarm made eyes fluttered open and the last thing I could remember was those deep amber eyes burning with so much passion just for me. Just me...and I felt loved. It was weird how real it felt. Like it was taken from my memory lane. Since the last accident, a lot of memories came like this, and surprisingly all of that was about the same person whom I don't even recognize. It feels like a part of me was missing its piece. But I don't even remember the stranger. Doctors of mine even think he never existed. He could be a mere imagination of mine. But my heart knew he was more than that and the promise was not mere imagination. It was a vow that we both intend to keep though I can't remember.

The insightful gaze of those eyes made me shudder with such an emotion that I couldn't recognize...

It was almost 6:00 am. Breaking my thoughts, I went to take a shower. Today was an important day for me indeed very important, as I get the chance to prove myself as a true heiress of our empire from now and then. I don't want to left any stones undone.

I will work myself to death if that's needed.

I wore a high waist, polished palazzo pants, and nude color top, and added a bit professional look with the makeup. After feeling satisfied, I came out for a new adventure in life. It was not going to be that bad. Let's hope for the best...

Stepping into the building of the "Stormer" empire, my mouth hung open. It was like indeed a castle of glass. Its beauty was more than enchanting. It got me spellbound a few seconds before I got my pieces together. I went to the reception feeling more confident than ever.

"Hello, I am Lavender Rose," I smiled at her but the girl rolled her eyes at me.

"The new PA?" She told as if she was surprised.

Woah!!! I was the PA ?! Didn't my father find any way to make me feel lower than that!

"Probably, yes," I answered bitterly still plastering the fake smile. Did I need to become someone's PA first to learn the business? This was too much!

"You should wait here. I will let Charlotte show you around and if you need anything just ask her. And I am Shayne." Maybe she was not that bad, huh! that was smooth. I nodded as I was turning my heels to wait in the hall.

"And Ms. Rose don't try something stupid to get yourself fired on your very first day." She gave me a toothy smile. Okay, she was a weirdo.

"No promises, Shayne." I smiled, this time, indeed a true one.
