Chapter 43 Not a Threat but a Pledge

Shai looked around her and was stunned, The figure made a portal to the internet...of whatever Herman had done. the figure huffed looking over the landscape of the internet. It wasn't the same as last time,

"Shai," The figure spoke.

Shai looked up at him and saw that she could see his eyes. It was a rich hazel looked at her with concern,

"Shai your time to fight the AI has come. Bring it to its knees," The figure told her.

Shai looked ahead and saw Herman, he's legs were torn apart his body glitching, staring at the two of them.

"I'm guessing not fighting him is a no?" Shai asked

"Yes, Shai," The figure responded,

"Then fine. Make another portal to get me when I am done," Shai muttered

Shai dropped down onto the floor of the internet, she looked down at her feet starring at the codes under her feet,

"What is this?" Herman muttered

Herman's gaze stayed on Shai, thinking of when he met her first.

"This is the woman they brought to fight me? She was too weak in her bed? But when she protected that boy she was stronger than expected." Herman thought

Shai looked up at Herman and noticed that a screen from above them was cracked. She saw two shadows over it... They seem to be talking back and forth almost arguing but not quite.

"That was a pitiful attempt of an emp," Herman scoffed

"Emp?" Shai mumbled

Shai kept looking up as Herman glared at her. She was standing in front of him asking him questions while looking up at the damn screen. Ignoring who she is supposed to deal with.

"You are one of the most oblivious human I have ever laid my eyes on," Herman mumbles

He raised his hand lifting up the codes from behind her but Shai pulled out her weapon and shot it at Herman, it glowed a bright white and the bullet went through Herman. The code went at Shai who moved away from them but some of it hit her thigh. Shai hissed feeling the codes burn her.

"What was that? A pathetic attempt at damaging me," Herman scoffed

He walked towards Shai who had the weapon pointed at the AI. It shined a red which only meant it would burn.

"That figure should have thought of someone else to stop me..."

He stopped in front of her and looked at her with a cold stare, he reached out to grab Shai but she stopped him by chuckling.

"What are you laughing at? You have nothing to laugh about," Herman said

"I do," Shai said

She looked up at him with five new lines of white behind her. She ducked as the line of lighting went to Herman who expected it to move through him but it hit him. Herman felt the electricity go through his frame sending him away from Shai, who stood there with a playful glint in her eye. Herman stopped himself from going further away holding his feet into the codes.

"You shouldn't have thought so low of me," Shai told him,

Herman felt stinging as he flinched from the pain. No, he could feel the pain she caused him.

"You not wrong human. but in the end, I will achieve my goal," Herman seethed

Shai saw that the lighting hit him worse than she thought. His glitches got worse while he glared at her intensely. She felt the weapon shake to the left, alarming her of what was to come. Shai saw that Herman moved closer to her and started to say,

"You may have been able to outsmart me at first Shai. but I won't let that happen again, I'm too perfect for that to happen," Herman told her.

Shai waited for Herman to try anything and he did, Herman disappeared from her site only a foot away from her, Shai had seen this tactic before but something didn't feel right about it this time. She felt the weapon shake again all around her.

"You humans are so blind to the world around you,"

Herman appeared in front of her. Shai wanted to raise her weapons but it didn't shake.

"Always having a people of the "elite" trying to control you. Willingly or unwillingly,"

Herman appeared beside her and the weapon didn't shake.

"There are a few that would know what was true until they grew,"

He appeared in her right and the weapon didn't shake.

"There is the blind that followed the lies blindly but the few who knew stood true."

Herman appeared behind her and the weapon shook, Shai looked at the weapon finding it to glow a deep red. She held the weapon behind her and shot it. The three other Herman's went after her, and she felt the weapon shake again and saw that it was a bright blue, She shot it at the floor and made her move away from two of them but the third one grabbed her leg. Shai felt her leg crack under the pressure of Hermans's strength. Shai flew into the air while Herman didn't let go of her, Shai snared at the pain and pointed her weapon at Herman,

"This isn't your wind to ride on," Shai huffed

Shai saw that the weapon had a white and blue shine to it. She shot it at him and a great gust of wind ripped him off of her,

Herman glared at her form as dark red clouds went around him,

"This is new?"

One tried to touch the dark cloud and all of them felt a burning sensation in their hand moving up to their shoulders. Herman glared up at Shai as his clones started to glitch.

"I can't see her through these dark clouds," Herman muttered

He started up waiting for her to fall, while a thought came to him,

"That weapon is familiar... It is from the old times," Herman thought

"That scroll... "

A red shined from the clouds, it went closer to Herman who tried to move past the clouds around him, but the burning stopped him,

"What is this I can't get through?" he questions

He lifted up the codes but they vanished. He felt a heat from above him and saw that it was mentors.

"Mentors in the interment," He mumbled

It headed towards him more than five. He glared at it. She thinks this would work for him.

"I might not be able to get out of these clouds you have made. but I will just appear where she is and end this quickly," Herman thought

He thought of appearing next to that annoying woman, he felt his body move but discomfort went through his body, he appeared back where he was staring over where he thought she would be.

"I won't be able to get out of this cloud... Human!" Herman yelled out,

The meteors were three feet away from him. An outline of Shai appeared with her eyes glowing a deep brown. She watched the AI glare at her, wishing for nothing more than to be rid of the clouds and end here, but Shai had been watching him waiting to see what he would do next...or make another plan.

"What? Can't you see that I'm watching?" Shai mocked

"I won't stand for this let me out," Herman told her.

"Why would I? Maybe you just need to wait and see if the clouds evaporate or not and burn under a pile of rock... Seems ironic no?" Shai said

Herman snarled at her with vexation burning within him. She taunted him while he was stuck between death and life. She is inferior to him in every way. Intellect, strength, life span, leadership, she has nothing compared to...

"You have nothing to stand against me," Herman scoffed

Shai stared at him unamused as Herman continued,

"I have everything you don't have. Control, life, power, intelligence, you have nothing Shai aqua,"

The clouds turn darker as Shai lifts her hand stopping the meteors. She was starting down at her feet and said to Herman,

"You have no idea what I have Herman. You blind fool."

Shai looked back at him, Herman shivered to see her eyes glow a menacing gold, her hand clenched her weapon that shaped in her grip. Trying to get her attention in a way. she glanced at the weapon,

"Don't worry,"

She glared back at Herman and dropped her hand, letting go of the meteors.

"I won't go that route,"

Herman stared at her as the meteors were close to hitting him,

"I have every right to stand against you Herman," Shai said

"How many lives have you ruined? How many times must humanity be in fear of you Herman before you are done away with it?"

She snarled at him.

"This will be your end, Herman. I will avenge what you have done and after this your manipulators as well!" Shai yelled

Herman smirked at this before having the meteor hit him,
