My Running Nightmare

Renee’s head snapped towards Jesse and she instantly regretted it. She tried to maintain her facial expression so it didn’t give anything away. She couldn’t act out of place now. Had he really just gone driving or had he found out about Kevin? But how? She had been extra careful to hide anything about Kevin. Kevin said he had always made sure that Jesse was nowhere around when he’d come to see her. She had to know. 


 “Why do you want to go so far away to eat and get a hotel room?” Renee asked. 


 She was trying to act like it wasn’t a big deal but he’d seen her flinch when she’d jerked her head towards him. The restaurant was right across the street from the hotel that Kevin was staying at. It seems that Renee did know Kevin was in Washington. He couldn’t get angry and let her know that he knew Kevin was here. If he did something to Kevin, would she know about it?
