Decisions

An agreement struck clear and they even made a firmish plan, the reward is handsome as well so Tim found the courage to take this task head on.

By head on, I mean the 30 year old Stingray slipped and hid between coral to avoid getting slaughtered by either Drake the mako shark or any other enemy.

Heck, if that eel beneath this coral didn't have a benefit, Tim would only aid to make the 1.5 meter long animal, fatter.

The plan that little Tim made here, is to keep a low profile until he finds Drake and then from a far appropriate distance, yell out that Harold the eel needs help.

That's the plan... well it was, now that he isn't exactly forced to do anything, the little stingray can go towards a different path and never meet any of these predators.

One thing that enhanced that thought, is finding 6 of the species that he's been looking for, partially hidden between a patch of blue coral, standing near what seems to be a sea sponge.

It's a blur regarding why these 2 species are standing so close to each other but it might not be random considering that animalistic instincts lead these species where to go and who to bite.

Whatever it might be, this can help Tim in the short term regarding health. Peeking up and around, trying to figure out if there are bigger enemies nearby, realizing that it's clean to move in.

It's good to be sure because this small hole is open and 5 feet across, a shark can easily bash its head in there and end Tim permanently.

Monch monch monch!

He tortures the first shrimp for a quick second and shouts, "Leggy crabs! Muhuhuhahaha!"

He might be getting a bit over the line but these creatures are playing a big part when health is a topic.

These shrimps can't get away that far and being in a hole, it's even harder.

So he had little to no trouble biting through all of them, the little thing holding the man back is having an absolutely full stomach.

He really doesn't need to eat anymore in aims to tame hunger and even has an urge to hurl everything out, but can't.

And so the system gives the honor to inform the hunch of a progress.

[Health bar = 77]

[Available system points = 37]

Well this played out in a couple of good ways, getting system points feels like a breeze with all these defenseless shrimp running around. The health bar increased by 3 points as well.

Now, Tim is raging between two decisions. Go back to his den and forget about the whole task or seek out the mako shark.

And he even has a couple of good points to aid either side of the debate. "If I go to the den, I can sleep and eat later when I'm less full."

That's a good decision, he can forget all about this risky task and just go to sleep, but yet one other thought is haunting the boy. "Harold has been down there for 6 months... that would make me go crazy."

"But the shark can kill me..." Tim raged with himself again and finally decided to do something wise. "System, what do you think?"

[Both eels and sharks are predators and are known to be smart. System can't access what they think so this task given to you can go for or against you.]

Spotting that the system is toying around with words a lot, Tim queries. "So you're saying, you don't know what I should do?"

[The goal is survival and both sides promise perks that aids survival. So the decision is solely based on the guest.]

Finally deciding what to do, Tim utters. "Yeah he can help me find all of those spiders and I can just hide in coral if they lie."

...

"Harold the eel needs help!" Tim shouted from the comfort of a yellow coral granted hole, once spotting what looks like Drake, swimming on a distance of 30 meters away.

One of the problems of being a stingray is of course the inability to make a lot of vocal abruption, most can't hear him unless standing very close.

Realizing that the shark is in no way close, the little Tim shouts harder, more than he ever did. "Harold the eel needs your help!"

To aid the thought of attraction, he starts waving the fins around, knowing that his body colour can grasp a lot of attention considering he's hiding in yellow coral.

A few seconds later, he spots the same shark charge forward, bashing the nose against coral but thankfully not able to catch Tim!

Still smacking his jaws, the shark heard Tim scream once more. "Harold the eel needs your help!"

And so, the shark stopped his rampage and shouts. "He's alive? I thought he got eaten!"

That's nice isn't it? A shark caring that much about an eel, but most importantly able to speak the ribbon tail stingray language.

Glad that the shark isn't trying to bite through these few seconds, Tim adds. "Yes, he sent me to find you and is stuck under a lot of coral."

Now swimming side by side, Tim spots it insane how such a day came. To swim near a shark without it trying to rip him in half, either human or stingray, Tim never expected this.

Finding the spot where the eel is wasn't too hard, Tim remembers that it isn't too far away from his den and even found the same long tunnel that leads to the under coral den.

Sure of himself, Tim swims in circles and yells out. "It's here, he's under here!"

As if an indirect sign to move away, Drake the mako shark charges towards the coral, bashing his head against it.

The coral is still in place obviously, so Drake repeats the procedure although wounds broke through his skin, getting stabbed at least a few times by the coral.

With no intent to stop, the shark charges forward again but this time hits the coral with his left side instead of his head.

Repeating the procedure, bashing his body against the barricade, coral flying away bit by bit, sand forcing a bit of a mist to rise.

Finally, tens of wounds after, they spot Harold slipping out of a hole, not appropriate for his size but still enough to escape.

Thankfully Drake stopped to take a break or else Harold could have been crushed by a 2 meter long shark!

Spotting his friend, Drake became tremendously happy and asks. "Harold, it's actually you. I thought you were eaten in the feeding spree!"

"I almost was." The eel added, spotting so many wounds on the mako shark and admiring how he's still alive.

Breaking the nice reunion, Tim reminds. "Okay now let's go get that shrimp."

Giving the boy a strong glare, Harold weighs in how this is going to go. "Get out of here, while you can swim away."

"But we had a deal!" Tim weighs in, yelling but then spotting how the shark companion is giving a strong stare as well.

Backing up his friend's words, Drake utters. "Boy don't make me bite you in half, fuck off."
