This... well it isn't the easiest on the subconscious. He risked getting eaten by a whole ass mako shark and yet got his good will trambled with what we can holler at as trickery.
Of course he fled the scene, fighting a whole 2 meter mako shark and a big moray eel as well is nothing but stupid. He would be ripped to shreads, eaten and afterwards the two would have a laugh about a dumb stingray.
His speed that has been temporarily upgraded to level 5, proved well to escape the scene before these two change their minds in terms of hostility.
But yet, regardless of who might the odds favour, Tim's mind still echoes. "They will see! They will die on my hands, fins..."
Vengeance strikes strong in the young stingray's mind although he's aiming for big goals. And right now, his thoughts advise. "I need to find more leggy crabs, I have to buy every upgrade."
For that, he has charged away from the coral, not fearing death and going for the same route he took when looking for urchins.
Worth noticing that he's passing through the same road where he made the first ever kill. This place holds a handful of memories, one of them being almost getting eaten by both an eel and shark in the very beginning.
In a couple points of view it might sound stupid to come here again and explore different portions, but this is a place he knows better already.
Through the few journeys here he managed to spot several good hiding spots although he didn't check what's inside.
So just in case of anything, he can dash for a hole and assure a hunch more safety.
There also is a second plan behind finding marble shrimps. These beings are an easy kill, are usually not alone and provide a system point each.
And he even started murmuring the plan that comes along with it, "I need more points! I have to upgrade my jaws or else I don't stand a chance to kill them."
[You won't have a chance to kill them even after the upgrade, you're currently too weak to beat them.]
Well thankfully the system is reasoning and for the first time Tim decided to listen and even cut the crap away, becoming serious. "Good then. Can you at least tell me when I'm ready."
[Yes, your task will eventually be to kill a shark or an eel. So I will inform you when you reach the required level.]
These thoughts... well they are hateful without a doubt but at least the young stingray is yielding motivation, converting hate into willpower. Heck of a move for someone with an IQ of 45 ha?
Swimming close to the sand, avoiding predators just in case, he finally finds something worthy to pay attention at.
His vision isn't the best but he can still spot prey about 10 meters away. He can't really count them well enough but judging from those eyes that poke out of the head like a zit, these could be the same crustacea species he slaughtered in the very beginning.
But he has to be sure at first so he questions the system with hopes that it will actually help out this time. "What was the first crab I hunted? What species?"
[It was a ghost crab.]
"The one with the weird yes. Can I get health from them??" Tim asked the big question, his motivation rising for the better.
[Fully consuming a ghost crab grants the following.]
[Effect on hunger, +3 bars]
[Effect on health, non existent.]
[Effect on sleep, +1 bar.]
[Effect on stamina, +1 bar.]
This is not what the young Tim's looking for but this situation can still be skinned for benefits. "Oh this can help me wake up, how sleepy am I?"
[Sleep bar = 10/35]
"Oh then I definitely need to eat a few of these, so I can search for leggy crabs longer." Tim thought, knowing that the system will hear one way or the other.
[That is recommended]
"Uh but I feel so full, I have to poop out some food." Getting an idea in mind right after, he starts spinning in place, 5 more meters away from the crabs so they don't get spooked away.
This is getting the boy dizzy but it's better to burn some food off instead of waiting for his body to digest it, a hundred things can happen until then.
About 50 spins later that were cracked up at level 5 speed, he drops on the sand and flaps the fins to bury deeper and blend in.
Thinking while trying to let stamina regenerate, "That should have burned something off."
Right after, the young stingray feels his stink hole let out what we can metaphorically call, bullshit and a half.
He has been eating everything that the boy's jaws can get to and it's no surprise when the final production comes out extra smelly and odd looking.
"Uhhh... that felt good. How's my hunger bar now?" Tim asked, giving out the largest sigh of which the system has heard him give.
[Hunger bar = 10/15]
Feeling vengeful has certainly made the little stingray think about tasks tad harder, so he pitches. "Oh then I eat two of these and just kill the rest for points."
[A good idea would be to drag the bodies in the den, to feed off them when you get hungry. It lowers the risk factor.]
"Good idea." Tim complimented and started charging towards the crabs.
Getting closer, these indeed look like the first crab he has stabbed and eaten. These have to be ghost crabs, the name is intimidating but there is nothing paranormal about them.
He charges towards the closest one, bites right through the head and hears the system utter. [Ghost crab killed. One system point has been added as a reward.]
Repeating the procedure, he breaks through the water to charge at the other close by crabs and just thanks god these ones have less legs who are shorter as well.
7 kills later, he asks the system about the total points with a main intent to upgrade and hears it decipher.
[Available system points = 44]
[Sleep bar = 12/35]
"I still can't buy the jaws thing ha?" He queries, remembering that the three new purchase options are much more expensive.
[You need 1 more system point to upgrade jaws.]
"I know it's worth the upgrade, these crabs couldn't escape me because of the hunting upgrade muhuhuhuahaha!" Well at least his sense of humour is returning after such a storm of rage.
Remembering another task, he looks at the 5 remaining ghost crab bodies and speaks to himself. "Now to take these bodies in my den... one by one..."
Afterwards he sighs a tad bit due to the boring task and asks the system. "I can't buy a human hands upgrade, right?"
[There is no such upgrade, you're a stingray.]
...
Dropping one of the bodies in his den, the young boy comes to a comprehension hard to swallow, someone else here has started calling the boy's den a home.
And so, Tim can't help shouting. "What the hell are you doing here?"
Rising from the very bottom of the hole like den, a creature slim and agile rises, long no doubt and fat like a cow. "This is my home now."
"I found it first! Get out of here or I will bite you." Tim warned, even revealing his jaws to the enemy and snapping them.
This intruder is none other than Harold the moray eel, who threatens. "Get out of here before I change my mind about eating you. Don't let me catch you in this coral reef ever again!
