CLARE

Sometimes your deep subconscious reminds you of the consequences of your actions and despite its intelligence, you prefer to ignore it.

Everyone in the room was on edge, they usually are when I am around.

I looked everyone in the face, 5 people.

our of them had a neutral face but I could sense their unease, the tension.

My p.a. Juana, two personal bodyguards Justin and victor, and one lawyer Percy.

Walking past them all I sat on the chair in the center, with the usual hard face I blinked in the red light.

Every eye was on me but again they usually are, everywhere I go.

Then there was the one person, on the floor with blood on his face and arms, swollen cheeks and sweaty forehead.

With no expressions to spare, I looked at my assistant and she got the message.

"We have the information," Juana said with a nod, keeping it short and simple.

I looked back to him, with the way his left leg was positioned it looked like the bone there was broken, his right shoulder, it too was slumped in an uncomfortable awkward angle, dislocated. His eyes never left my face terror-filled them with tears like he was watching a demon himself.

He should have known not to mess with me.

Did he not know what will happen to him if he betrayed me, if he sold company information, my information.

I looked at the lawyer and he answered for his part.

"He has signed everything," He said looking straight at me

I looked back at him, shivering from the cold floor...........and treatment.

He knew what happens when someone breaks my trust, he has seen the consequences himself.

I looked up to Juana and ordered before walking out "take care of his family" and with that, I walked out ignoring all the cries and please for help.

He should have listened to himself, he shouldn't have done this.

To spare his family and let them go, he deserves it.

To do whatever they want with him but let his family go, he deserves it.

That his family wasn't in on it that they didn't know, he deserves it.

I marched back to my office with Juana and Percy in the toe.

Justin and victor knew what they had to do, they've been doing this since forever.

After getting in my office I sat back down in my chair and let the two start.

Juana went first "He sold the information to rody, on 19th June with a deal of protection and money in return, his family knows nothing about this deal and it was about one of the new projects that he was handling" She ended placing a file in front of me and I nodded to her.

"All of his property and money has been forfeited he or his family has no rights to sue and are blacklisted to ever work in Clare industries," Said Percy placing another black file in front of me.

Nodding to him I ordered "you may leave"

He nodded to that and without releasing the breath he was holding the moment he entered the office he walked out.

"You can breath you know" I muttered to Juana who was still standing in front of me while I looked over the documents they just gave.

"Uh...yeah..." She trailed off taking a deep breath.

" Notify," I said and she started with all the notifications for today.

"and last you have a party for your success for the hotel project" She ended after notifying every news for the past fifteen minutes.

"Okay," I said looking at her, I was about to go back to work when she said again

"Uh...uhm...ah.....Clare one more thing.... Uncle cole...........talk to him" She said and I nodded.

Then she after asking me if I needed anything and I refused she walked out to her office.

So much had changed in these few years, a voice inside me said

A voice that I buried deep inside me.

She used to be the best best friend and now, it said

And now I can see the fear in her too, I completed.

I can feel the fear in all of them, the fear when they are in the same room as I am as if I would burst and swallow them whole.

She isn't the same anymore, I looked at the one photo I have in my office hidden in a drawer.

Or maybe she isn't the one that changed.

I looked at all those smiling faces, all those alive faces. but now, after years I cant feel a drop of tear in my eyes.

Cant feel a drop of emotion at all.

Everyone fears me, they weren't afraid of dad.

Dad wouldn't have wanted this, no one would have.

But they left me no choice.

What is left of a person, when there is nothing left for the person.

I run my hand along their faces, those beautiful people.

They say the most dangerous person is the one who has no one to care for, but I think the most dangerous person is the one who has no humanity left to care at all.

You never wanted to be that person

That voice inside my head, it said again.

Yet I have become that person, I replied.

Cold filled inside me again, and I pushed that drawer close with a thud.
