Leon

"You're back, and I see he isn't with you." I said to the girl, Asseylum.

"What did you two do? You caused this stone to have a message, whatever you did." I said as I turned my gaze towards the six-foot stone.

[Floor 1 Status: Cleared.]

[First Clear Percentages: Zachary 92%, Asseylum 8%.]

'I get what it's saying, but it still doesn't make sense. What do you have to do to "clear" a floor. Is it always the same? What happens now?' I wondered.

"We cleared out a goblin camp and stumbled upon an orc camp. He stormed the place. There was an orc chieftain in there." Asseylum said.

"So he's dead then?" I inquired.

"More than likely." Asseylum answered.

The hair on my body suddenly stood on end. Asseylum seemed frozen in place too.

'This aura... he's still alive?! How?! Didn't Asseylum say there was a chieftain, not to mention the rest of the camp to deal with him?' I thought as I tightened my grip on the glaive I held.

"What kind of monster could have survived that fight?" Asseylum murmured.

I slowly turned to look at the approaching person.

He was completely unharmed and carrying a girl.

"Zachary... I see you're back." I said rather loudly, making sure I got everyone's attention.

'Where did he even come from? I didn't see him a minute ago. Forget seeing him, I couldn't even sense him until he was almost on top of us!' I thought, staring at him growing ever closer.

I almost didn't notice the sound of swords being drawn behind me in my growing terror.

I wanted to call out for them to stop, but I couldn't bring myself to. I felt like if I did, something worse would happen.

Zachary paused long enough to set the girl down and draw his sword.

The world seemed to move slower as I watched the 16 other people that came with us run towards him and started swinging, shooting, and chanting. Yet, Zachary weaved about with ease, chopping off one head after another. The now crimson blade was under my chin.

"What kind of monster are you?" I asked.

"The type that even your nightmares are afraid of." Zachary said.

I stared at him for a few seconds before letting go of my glaive.

"Good choice, Prince Leon of Ishkatar. Under normal circumstances, I would have killed you regardless. However, I'm not good at leading people, so I can't afford to have you die on me, not yet at least." Zachary said with a cold expression.

'How does he know my identity?' I wondered

Then again, cold seemed to be normal for him.

"So tell me, what happened here, Prince?" Zachary asked.

I stared for a few moments before saying, "We were attacked by goblin riders. Ambushed. Only the three of us survived the attack."

"Good." Zachary said as he turned to Asseylum.

"And you?" He inquired.

Asseylum quickly recounted the same story as Leon.

"One thing. How did you know I was a Prince?" I asked as I picked up my glaive.

All I got in response was a glance.

Zachary picked up one of the quivers from the ground and began filling it with arrows before strapping it to his side. He also slung a bow over his back.
