My Manager ; My First Love

The news of Lara joining the company and the boss smiling spread like a wildfire. Everyone wanted to find out about the woman who actually got to be the boss's manager. Lucky for her the news of her interaction with Emily wasn't publicised.


That evening after she went home and freshened up and made Lina some soup she started to the hospital. She reached quickly and headed to the room number given to her.


The door opened just as she knocked, as though someone was waiting for her. She saw Liam look at her with a small smile.


"Good evening, boss.", she wished him. Liam acknowledged her greeting with a nod and a smile.


When Lara told Liam that she wanted to visit his sister, he felt a weird happiness. He was waiting near the door anticipating her arrival.


This surprised the others in the room. They did not know who he was waiting for, and felt it was weird as he had never cared for anybody and now he is waiting near the door for somebody.


When the door opened and they heard the voice of a female wish him, they were shocked.


'Was he waiting for his female employee?' this was running in everyone's minds including his brother-in-law Peter's mind.


When they saw her, they were stunned, she was a beauty. What surprised Lina and Peter more was that her mother went and greeted her with a hug.


When Lara walked in, she saw three people, Emily, Lina and a man, perhaps her husband she thought.


When Emily came forward and wished her with a hug she wished her back with a smile. " Hi. I am Lara, Mr Liam's manager", she said with a warm tone.


"She is the one who donated blood for you" Liam said with a smile, clearing the confusion about how they knew her.


Both of them at once said," Thank you so much". 


"You're welcome", she said with a gentle smile. 


She then went and stood beside the bed when Lina said gesturing to the chair," Please sit". 


"How are you doing, ma'am??", she asked in a calm tone. "Lina please. And I am doing good, just a bit tired.", Lina replied with a tired smile.


" Great to know Lina. I have brought you some homemade soup which is good for post delivery health. It helps in replenishing you body with strength and nutrients", she said placing a thermos on the table.


She then continued," Do try it and if you like it and want some more, do not hesitate to contact me. I'll leave my number with you." 


Lina handed her phone to Lara and she quickly typed in her contact.


'What a considerate girl', all of them thought. Her voice sounded so genuine that they could tell she really meant it and did not fake it as a way to get close to them.


They then chatted for a while and then she stood up and said," I will not trouble you any longer. Take rest and get well soon". 


"Thank you for coming. Have a good night", Lina said with a greatful smile. She nodded and bid farewell to the others.


Liam decided to walk her out, to the surprise of others. 


He accompanied her till the exit and said," Thank you so much Lara for saving my sister".


" Please do not mention it boss. I just did something anyone with a heart would do" she replied.


" See you tomorrow then", he said. She nodded and left.


The minute they left all three of them started speaking. They were completely shocked with his reaction.


He had never cared for anyone, but today they saw him wait for her and walk her off. This was amusing to them.
