My Manager ; My First Love

All the other employees who worked with her warmed up to her. Marina became best friends with her. The Vice President was out on a business trip and so she could meet everyone but him.


It had been nearly a week since she joined the company. 


She was discussing a file with Marina, "Boss said that you will have to correct this. The others are great . Got it?" she told with a serious expression.


But she did not get any reply and so she looked up. She noticed that Marina's attention was some where else.


"Marina? Marina?  Earth to Marina !!" , she continuously asked but there was no movement. 


She noticed that her gaze was fixed behind her and she was staring in a daze.


When Miles had returned and heard that Liam had finally appointed a female manager, he was surprised. 


When he met him he asked," Bro you are sure about your new manager right? You didn't simply hire her for fun right ?".


" I am sure about my decision. You should meet her, then you will understand." He replied with a slightly enthusiastic tone. 


This really surprised Miles. This was the first time he had heard him talk this excitedly about a girl.


' She must be very special', he thought.


When he entered the office he saw a woman standing and speaking with Marina. Her face was not visible but her long hair and slim figure told him that she was beautiful.


He walked and stood behind her along with Liam. Both of them did not want to disturb her, so they decided to wait till she finishes. 


All the others had started swooning on him. He was one of the most eligible bachelors in the country, so it was natural.


Lara decided to turn and see what was making Marina look so dazed. When she turned, she saw her boss and another handsome man standing next to him. 


"Lara meet Miles, the vice president of the company.", Liam introduced him. 


"Good morning Mr Miles. I am Lara. Nice to meet you", she introduced herself with a small smile.


" Nice meeting you too Lara. You can continue your work. We will not keep you", he said. 


She nodded with a smile and turned to speak with Marina. This surprised him as she did not drool like the others. She wasn't even concerned about how he looked .


He followed Liam to his office. He was genuinely shocked when Liam described how her interview was. But what surprised him even more was that whenever he spoke about her his eyes were shining and he had a bright smile on his face.


'She seriously seems to have an impact on him. This is very amusing. Hmm.', he thought.


"Come on, Marina", Lara said exasperatedly and patted her hand.


Marina finally slipped out of her daze and spoke," Oh my god!! He looks sooo dreamy!" 


"Come on Marina. Get yourself together." , she said with a sigh. "Okay continue", Marina replied with a pout. She wanted to drool over her bias for a while more.


During this time, a certain someone frowned while looking at Marina's reaction. 'I hope that you will reciprocate my feelings.... Marina...', he thought with a sad smile.


The week went by. She became good friends with Miles. And Liam was very happy with her work.


She visited Lina often with new recipes. Lina loved all of them and thanked her. The baby was healthy and growing well.


Having lunch together was a fun part of the top floor office. They all sat together and enjoyed their lunch while chatting and laughing. 


Occasionally Liam would join them. This surprised the others. Since Lara joined he had become more lively and cheerful, less angry. But he still had the cold and unapproachable aura around him.
