My Manager ; My First Love

Lara held her hand and gave it a comforting squeeze and said," All of that is in the past now. All you need to do is speak.


A mother will get back the endless love from her son and the son will receive the happiness and love that he has been longing for from his mother."


" Thank you so much dear", she said while wiping her tears.


" I will be taking care of boss tonight. I know you want to meet him now. But I would suggest you wait till tomorrow morning so that you can set your thoughts straight.


Tomorrow  I'll make him some breakfast and leave early. So you can come at that time and speak with him.", she said. Emily nodded. They chatted for a while.


While they were leaving, Emily quickly pulled Lara into a tight hug and said," Thank you so much dear." 


Lara just nodded with a smile and left.


Emily kept on thinking about how she helped in clearing their misunderstanding even though they were not related. Even her staying and taking care of her son also surprised her.


Lara returned to his place after almost an hour. When she entered his house, she saw him sitting in front of the laptop, working.


She got annoyed went and took the laptop away from him and said," Boss please start taking care of your health. I understand that work is important, but when you are sick your health is important. And it seems a lot like you wish to stay sick for long.


If you take proper rest today, then you can return to work tomorrow. If you don't then I am afraid I will not allow you to leave your home."


He was sitting and working because he was bored. He hadn't heard her enter so when she pulled the laptop he was stunned and was about to flare up.


But he was interrupted by her outburst. If it was any other person, by now they would be dead meat, but somehow her nagging him only made him smile. He nodded with a innocent face.


She sighed looking at his innocent expression. After taking a few deep breaths to calm herself she said," I am going to make the Ravioli. If you are bored you can come and sit in the counter and watch. But no working."


He nodded and followed her. He sat at the counter and was looking at her cook. Within sometime strong aroma started filling in the kitchen.


It was already dinner time so she served the food. When he took a bite he immediately had a dreamy expression," Hmmm….. You are seriously an amazing cook. Hmmmm…. I could get used to this."


She just sighed and continued eating. They did not speak much during dinner. After dinner she cleared the dishes quickly and sat with him to watch the news for sometime.


After half an hour she got him his medicines. He took them reluctantly. She then sent him to bed.


Before sleeping he asked," Where are you going to sleep?"


" On the couch boss", she said and left before he could protest.


She played games for sometime and then slept.


Next morning he woke up and went to check where she was. When he went to the living room, there was no sign of her. Then he noticed that there was a note on the dining table. He opened it and read and smiled. It was from her.


' Boss I am leaving early as I have to get ready for office. Your breakfast is in the kitchen and there is a smoothie in the blender. Do not drink tea or coffee till tomorrow. Enjoy your meal. See you in the office.


PS: Do not forget to take your medicine. I have kept it on the kitchen counter.'


After reading her note he felt a weird warmth spread through him. He was happy that she did all this for him but was sad that she left before he was awake.


He went to the kitchen and opened the lid of the pan. A sweet aroma entered his nose. She had made pancakes. He was happy.


After reaching her house Lara quickly freshened up and went to the office. She was greeted by Miles. He was early today.


They were having a friendly chat when Liam walked in. He went next to Lara and asked in a hoarse and cracked voice," You spoke to my mom?"
