16. 1 month old baby

It had been a week since Lara's encounter with Rose. All the others were surprised because with what they know about Rose by now Lara should have been out of the company.

But of course, our Liam would never even dream of that happening. If anyone would come up with such an idea that person might end up losing a tongue.

Liam called Lara to his office and gave her a white envelop. It was an invitation to the one month party for his nephew.

She was quite surprised by why he gave her an invite." Congrats boss", she said.

" I'll pick you up at 6pm. Be ready by then.", he said.

This made her look at him in shock.' First he invites me to his nephew's one month party and now he is telling that he will pick me up? Is he doing it as charity or something else?', this was running in her head. She couldn't come up with a reply, so she just nodded and left.

After leaving work she went to a baby's store to purchase some gifts. She bought him a cute set of rubber ducks and many more toys.

She went home and changed into a dress. She then went to the office to wait for him.

Liam was awaiting her arrival. He got out of the car when his driver told that she had arrived. He was stunned when he saw her. She turned when she heard the door open and started to walk towards him with a smile.

She was wearing a red satin frock with net sleeves. She wore matching gold coloured pendant with long earings and a bracelet. Her hair was slightly braided in the front and let loose in the back. She was wearing black 3-inch pencil heels.

The wind started blowing her hair back. The evening sun highlighted her facial features. She looked like a goddess. He was in such a daze that he didn't realize that she had already gotten into the car.

He only got out of the daze when his driver called out to him. He quickly shook his head and got in. While they were driving, she was looking outside.

Unbeknownst to her, a person was staring at her in a daze. He had never expected a woman to have such an effect on him.

Even the driver was surprised that the boss who never even let woman stand next to him was drooling over one. And what surprised him even more was that the woman did not even care and looked very uninterested unlike others who wish to be looked like this by him.

Liam only got out of his daze when they arrived at Page mansion. It was his ancestral home.

In recent times, he only went there with a sour mind and only for emergencies. But now, thanks to her, he is going in as a happy man.

When they walked in, everyone was surprised seeing Liam bring a woman with him. Emily, Miles, Lina and Peter were flabbergasted.

Earlier when they heard from Miles about how Liam kicked him out while talking to her and how he screamed at Rose for hurting her they thought that it was just exaggeration. But now they saw him beaming with happiness.

Lara went and greeted all of them. Emily pulled her into a tight hug and said," Glad you could make it dear." Lara smiled.

Then she handed the gift bag she was holding to Lina and said," Congratulations. How are you and the baby doing Lina?"

" We are doing great and of course it is thanks to you. Thank-you again for saving my baby's and my life", she replied.

" Please. Anyone would do that. And great to know that both of you are doing well.", she replied delightedly.

The others were shocked about how close she was to them. Especially seeing Emily hug her surprised them.

After greeting them Lara stepped aside so that they could greet the other guests. Her phone rang and she went near the window and answered. It was her mother.

She was talking happily. The young women present there tried to get Liam's attention. But they saw that his eyes were not lifting off Lara. Not only him, but most men were not able to take their eyes off her.

She was standing near the window with a beautiful smile on her face. The sun shining through the window made her face look enchanting. Her eyes sparkled like stars. Emily and the others were looking at Liam in surprise. He was looking at her like a small child looking at a lollipop.

" Let's have some fun shall we", Miles said with a grin and took two glasses of wine from the waiter and went towards her when she got off the phone. The others weren't sure what he was up to, but nevertheless looked at him.

Miles thought to test if Liam would get jealous if he approached her." Care to join me Lara?", he asked. She smiled while taking the glass and said," Sure".

They were chatting happily. Miles started feeling a certain someone's gaze trying to burn a hole through his skull. He was happy that he could make Liam jealous.

When Liam saw Miles approach her, he did not know what he was up to. But when he saw him giving her a glass of wine and chatting with her, he started feeling jealous. A dark aura started forming around him and he was throwing thousands of imaginary daggers at Miles.

He lost all his control and decided to walk towards her. He went and stood next to her and gave Miles a dirty and dark look. It sent chills down Miles spine.

He smiled nervously and left them alone and went towards the others grinning with pride as though he won an Oscar award.

The others who were watching were dumbfounded with Liam's reaction. Emily was shocked seeing her son being jealous.

" I really doubt if we knew the real Liam until now.", said Miles while looking at him talk happily with her. The others agreed. The Liam they knew and the one they were seeing were completely poles apart.
