" I messed up didn't I??", Maria asked sheepishly while scratching the back of her neck.


" Messed up??... It is an understatement… You threw up on the President and Vice president of Page industries girl!!!", Lara exclaimed in a tone filled with frustration.


Maria turned to the guys and apologized." I am so sorry… I was drunk and-", she started but was cut off by Miles.


" It's okay..", he said. Even though he was not very happy about having someone throw up on him, but he was still glad that she did. If she had not, then he wouldn't have gotten Lara's permission to try and woo her.


" Forget about that.. Where is your luggage??", Lara inquired.


" I- I lost it..", she replied with a slightly worried smile.


Lara sighed with a frown and massaged the area between her brows. This girl was the complete definition of trouble.


" You love getting yourself in trouble don't you??!", Lara asked in a sarcastic tone. Maria just sheepishly smiled in response.


" Anyways… Stay here for a while… We'll go shopping soon to get you clothes.. Till then wear mine..", Lara said.


The next instant Maria pounced on Lara for a huge bear hug. Lara fell back to the couch because of the high momentum.


" You are the best sister and best friend!!.. I love you so sooo much….", Maria yelled while hugging her. She forgot about the existence of the two guys who felt like they were third wheeling right now.


Lara laughed hearing her yell. She hugged her back." I know that I am the best..", she replied with a smile.


" Now get off… Gosh!! You have grown much heavier..", Lara exclaimed while slowly pushing her off.


Maria got off Lara with a pout and said," I am not heavy!!.."." Okay .. okay… I grew lighter.. Fine???", she said while laughing.


A few seconds later, her expression turned to a mixture of seriousness and thoughtfulness.


" So now for your punishment, you are going to clean the entire house by the time I am back from work..", she said.


Maria's face immediately fell." This house is as big as my college!!.... How can I clean it within a day!!? I won't even be able to finish it within a year..", she replied.


She gulped while imagining herself walking with crutches the next day after cleaning the entire house on her own.


Lara scoffed and replied," Your college is way bigger than this and the housekeeper cleans the house within a few hours… So you can do it too… No excuses…"


Maria immediately put up her puppy eyes and a cute pout. She literally looked like a dog asking for treats.


" Cute.. But that ain't working on me darling…. And don't forget to give your dad a call later….", Lara said while standing up.


" Come on… Let's eat breakfast before it turns cold…", Lara said while walking towards the kitchen.


Maria was walking towards the dining table while regretting her life decisions. Why was she so stupid to fly over without informing anyone and also go drinking??.. Had she not been wasted last night, then she wouldn't be having to clean the house today…
