56. Preparation for the first unofficial date

Miles was driving excitedly towards Lara's house. He was listening to romantic music while driving. He was even humming the tune.

Soon he was in front of Lara's house. He pulled his phone out and texted Maria.' I am waiting outside Lara's house…'. Soon he received a reply from Maria. ' Will be down in a few * red heart * '.

That heart emoji in the end made his heart beat faster. His cheek started turning red. He looked like a teenage boy whose crush smiled at him for the first time.

He immediately sent a text to Lara inquiring about her intention behind the emoji.' Hey Lara! So… Maria sent me a text with a heart emoji in the end what does it mean??..'.

Lara was sitting and taking a sip of her coffee when she received Miles's text.' Show me the entire message…', Lara replied.

Miles forwarded the message Maria sent to Lara. He was anxiously waiting for Lara's reply. He then saw that Lara was typing something.

He couldn't help but feel a tinge of hope in the success of his first relationship. Sadly, the reply he was going to get would give him a heartbreak.

' Don't think too much…. She sends dozens of hearts to almost every single person she texts… Be patient Miles, don't act like a bulldozer…. You will end up ruining your friendship…..', she replied.

Miles's face fell the second he read her reply. He gave some thought to her advice and decided to follow it.

Be patient buddy… You can do it…. Aaaah…. But has she sent hearts to other guys as well?? He couldn't help but feel a bit jealous.

Seeing that he was wandering off, he slapped his forehead. Get yourself together Miles… Show her that you are her man... You can do it…. Go for it…. He started motivating himself.

After a few seconds of self motivation, he stepped out of his car wearing shades. He stood leaning against the car door and was casually scrolling through his phone.

It was almost afternoon and the sun was bright. The angle at which the sun's light was falling on him made him look extremely hot. And there was someone admiring him from a distance.

Maria was almost done getting dressed when she got Miles's text. She smiled and replied quickly. She jogged down with her purse.

Searching clothes to wear was quiet a hassle for Maria. Some of Lara's clothes were too small for her while she wasn't very sure of the ones that fit her.

Seeing that she was unable to choose a dress, she decided to give her knight in shining armour, Lara, a call. Lara answered quickly.

" Hey sis help me pick a dress….", she said. Lara showed her a thumbs up. Maria started picking the dresses she thought were good and showed it to her.

There were a total of ten dress sets.

For every dress Lara asked about, there was some or the other problem. Too tight, too bright, too dull, too revealing, too long, etc, etc…

Lara who was sitting in the other end just put her hand on her forehead. Even this girl was getting worried as if she was going on a date.

" Oh my god!!... Are you going out shopping or going on a date??..", she asked in an exhausted tone." Well…. Your friend is hot… So…", she replied while scratching the back of her head.

Lara just sighed." The last drawer in the left side, a black box is there… Try the dress on…", she said after a while.

Maria excitedly opened the drawer and pulled the dress out. She was stunned by now beautiful it looked.

It was a pink lace frock with puffed sleeves. It had few cute rabbit prints all over it.

Maria placed the dress on top of her and stood in front of her phone." How does this look??.. It is perfect right??",she asked.

Lara as surprised as to how well it suited her." Right… Go for this one…", she replied with a smile.

" You should have just told me before that you had this dress…. I wouldn't have wasted soo much time…. By the way, how come I have never seen you wear this??", she asked after changing into the frock.

" I ordered it online a while back…. The website said it was pastel pink but it turned out to be bright pink… The dress was way cute and girlish for me…. So I kept it thinking I could use it if some emergency arises and seems like it was a good idea to keep it..", she replied.

Maria cut the call and looked at herself in the mirror. She squealed in happiness." Aaah… I look like a princess…", she said while twirling around in the dress. She had received Miles's message when she was squealing so she quickly pulled her bag and rushed down.
