When Maria stepped out of the house, she was greeted by a very tempting sight. She saw Miles leaning against the door of his car and playing with his phone.

He was oozing handsomeness. Everything about him looked perfect to her. Her heart started beating fast while looking at him. She didn't realize that she was staring at him for quite a while.

She took a deep breath to calm her racing heart. Calm down Maria…. Calm down…. He is your sisters friend so don't embarrass yourself… I need to repair my tarnished reputation… I should make a good impression. She thought.

She straightened her dress a bit and adjusted her hair before walking towards him." Hi…", she said while she got closer to him.

Miles only got out of his phone when he heard her speak. He shut his phone and looked up. He saw her smiling at him sweetly. His eyes widened and mouth opened in shock while looking at her.

The smile took his breath away and made his heart beat faster. Slowly his eyes scanned her length. The pink dress was a perfect match for her. She looked like a cute angel in it.

His hand went to his shades and he slowly removed them. His wide eyes were clearly seen.

Gosh!! She looks so breath-taking in that dress…  He thought.

Maria felt her cheeks heat up at the way Miles was staring at her in shock. It was getting very awkward so she cleared her throat to bring him back to earth.

Miles snapped out of his daze when he heard her clear her throat awkwardly. He immediately looked away. His cheeks turned red in embarrassment. He found it very difficult to look at her in the eye.

You idiot!!.. What will she think of you now… Did you have to stare at her today only?? The very first day??!!... Aaaahh I want to hide…. He was cursing inwardly.

At this moment he wished he had a shovel in his hands. If he had one, he would have at once dug a whole and buried himself. Never did he think he could get into such an embarrassing situation.

Now he understood what Liam felt when Lara caught him. Now he was caught red handed by her best friend… What a life… Sigh..

" H-.. Hi..", he finally managed to speak. Maria chuckled hearing him stutter. Even though she was also nervous like him, she was still good at hiding it.

" I am sorry for keeping you waiting..", she said after a few seconds.

" Um.. N- No.. No need to be….", he again stuttered." By the way… You look extremely beau- beautiful in that dress…", he commented.

Maria started blushing. She didn't know why, but even her boyfriend…. Ahem…  Ex boyfriend saying such things didn't make her feel these many butterflies in her stomach.

The atmosphere turned awkward. Both of them didn't know what to tell. There was only silence.

" Let us go then….", Maria spoke after a while. She then walked towards the passenger seat. Miles was rooted to his spot for a few seconds.

Earlier, Miles was actually rehearsing his lines while standing and acting like playing with his phone. He had planned about every single word he was going to say.

' Hi Maria. I am Miles… Lara's best friend… '

' I will be accompanying you for the day…'

' And I must say that you look extremely beautiful in that dress… I don't know what good deeds I have done to be able to accompany such a pretty woman….'.

He had done quite a lot of research to plan all these pick up lines. He had browsed through various websites on how to compliment a woman without making it look awkward, etc.

He had built up his confidence as well. But…. The minute his eyes landed on her, from a man with a chest puffed with pride he instantly became a deflated balloon.

He couldn't even remember his own name when his eyes fell on her let alone the lines he had practiced and perfected. His confidence flew out of the window along with all his senses.

You butthead!!! Why were you stuttering… Ugh… What will she think of me now?.. ' You look extremely beautiful' it seems… Why does my high power brain not work when I need it to???!! Why!! Why!!
