Two weeks later.

Maria and Miles have been meeting very often. Miles took her to different places, inadvertently showing her around quite a large part of Country A, saving Lara from being Maria's tour guide.

Lara was sitting in the resting lounge and drinking her coffee while scrolling through her phone. She was reading the numerous texts Maria was sending about Miles with a sigh.

Just like she had predicted, she was being filled with dog food almost every single day. She also lost her sleep. Poor Lara….

While reading, she felt a presence near her. She looked up and saw Miles look at her with a smile. She smiled back and put her phone aside.

Miles sat on the couch opposite to hers and started fidgeting with his fingers in nervousness. Well nervous would be an understatement, he was feeling extremely scared to speak to her.

Lara chuckled seeing his nervousness. " Go on… What do you want to ask??..", Lara asked and took a sip of her coffee.

Miles took a deep breath in before starting to speak. " So…. Don't get angry at me Lara…. Just hear me out before reacting, okay??..", he spoke nervously.

" Okay… I'll kill you after you finish speaking…", Lara replied with a serious face. Miles immediately had a worried look on his face.

Lara burst out laughing and said, " Oh God!!! I was just kidding… Hahaha.."

Miles looked at her with a annoyed look. He just looked like a scared wet cat now…. :(

" So…. I want to ask Maria to be my girlfriend…. Um…. Can you give me some suggestions on how I should do it??..", he asked while barely making eye contact with her. He was looking down at his hands most of the time.

" Hmmm… Okay I'll help you..", Lara replied after a few seconds of thought with a smile.

Miles's head immediately snapped up in happiness and shock. He didn't expect her to agree this easily. He expected her to put a knife at his throat and conduct a thorough interrogation of him.

" Really??!!", he asked in anticipation and excitement.

" Yup… So, see… She doesn't like much of extravagance or attention… So try asking her with a simple yet elegant bouquet of flowers and a note written by you….

She loves beautiful sceneries… So you can probably ask her to come to a scenic place where you two have a special memory, if there is any…. Preferably with as less people as possible around.

But I can't guarantee you if she will agree, because just like you know, she was just cheated on and that most definitely has affected her badly… So I suggest that you ask her permission to court her rather than asking her to be your girlfriend directly…

This will also help her feel secure with you and trust you.. Also you can use the opportunity to show your sincerity and how much she means to you…"

Lara finally ended with her list of ideas.

Miles was looking at Lara like she was a god.

" Oh my god Lara!!!! How are you so knowledgeable even when you are not in a relationship??" Miles asked in awe.

Lara smiled proudly and acted as if she was pushing stand of her hair off her shoulder.

" It's nothing…. I may be inexperienced in the field of romance but I know my bestie very well…", Lara replied with a proud smile.

Before Miles could say anything, another conversation caught their attention.

" Ummm… Hi…. How are you doing Marina??", Ryan asked in an awkward tone. His cheeks were bright red and he was sweating like anything.

Marina also had a beautiful smile on her face as well." Hi… I am doing good…. ", Marina replied with a awkward smile.

Ryan was just staring at her in a daze. He was so lost that he couldn't hear her reply.

" You look extremely beautiful today…..", he commented with a dreamy smile.

Marina's face turned crimson that instant. She looked away while blushing.

Ryan suddenly realized what he had said just now. His entire face turned bright red.

" I.. I… I'll meet you later…", he quickly stuttered and ran away from there immediately.

" Oh God!!! Why is he so handsome and cute???", Marina said out loud not seeing the two people who were curiously watching the two of them.

She took a few deep breaths in an effort to calm her heart that was running a marathon. But it didn't help… Not one bit..

She finally pulled herself together and dashed to the restroom.

The two people watching this scene were smiling.

" Looks like we have a new couple on board!!", Lara said enthusiastically.

" How about we be their cupid??", Miles asked Lara. " Yup.. Great idea..", Lara replied with a smile.

Both of them stood up facing each other.

" Matchmaker Lara is in action", Lara said with a bright smile. Both said byes and got back to work.

Lara had a blind date to plan and Miles had a proposal….
