Chapter 58

"So why are we joining this war? And what is it even about?" Makino asked him.

"I thought we could because why not? We'll also see Whitebeard, the strongest man in the world in action," Hakai said. "The war is about a certain pirate. Portgas D. Ace, he's going to be executed. Heard of him?"

Hakai already knew that Makino knew Ace. She was one of the people that raised Ace when he was just a kid and Hakai was sure that she would want to save him.

Makino stared at Hakai with wide eyes. "A-Ace is going to be executed? How? Why?"

"Blackbeard captured him and handed him over to the marines. It's going to be a public execution."

"Blackbeard... I'll keep that name in mind. Hakai, you don't mind if I save Ace right? I've known him since he was a kid and it would hurt for me to see him die. He still has a long future ahead of him."

Hakai smiled. "I don't mind. Just stay safe."

He was worrying about Makino, but maybe the people he should be worrying about are the marines that are about to fight her.

The trip to Paradise would take some time since they were about halfway into the New World, but their ship was fast enough to make it in time for the war.

The marines were only worried about the Whitebeard Pirates, and maybe the Straw Hat Pirates, but with the Dragon Pirates heading to Paradise, they just hoped they weren't planning to join.

The days passed by quickly until they finally made it to the Red Line which seperated Paradise and the New World, but they were stopped by the Red-Haired Pirates.

Shanks walked to the front of their ship. "Hakai, what is your purpose in coming here?"

Hakai walked forward. "To join the war of course."

"Which side are you on? I don't think I can let you pass so easily," Shanks said, placing his hand on the hilt of his saber.

"I'm definitely not on the Marine's side I'll tell you that. What makes you think you can stop me?"

Hakai released his Conquerors Haki which took a black color and Shanks released his own Conquerors Haki which took a red color.

The two haki clashed before disappearing.

"Red-Haired, I don't think you should be fighting me. After all, I'm not the only one that wants to join."

Behind Hakai's ships and fleets, a ship was heading towards them in the distance and on the ship's sails was the flag of the Beasts Pirates.

"Anyway, we'll be heading off. You can take care of them," Hakai said as he activated the barrier of the ship and the flying mode.

The ship floated into the air right above the Red-Haired Pirates ship.

They attempted to shoot at the ship, but the barrier stopped all the attacks.

"Tsk, ignore them. He's right, we should deal with the Beasts Pirates," Shanks told his crew.

The other ships in Hakai's crew started flying too, following behind the main ship.

They soared above the Red Line, above the huge crater that Hakai made when be attacked Mary Geoise and into Paradise.

In the sky, they continued flying until they could finally see their destination in the distance, Marineford.

Hakai, with his dragon eyes could see clearly what was happening on the island. "It seems it has started, but judging on what's happened, it hasn't been long since it started."

Makino looked too with her dragon eyes seeing Ace. "Ace is still alive!"

Hakai continued observing the situation. "Mihawk is here, right. This is going to be interesting. Why don't we let out presence be known?"

Hakai unsheathed Musabori who was in his sealed state. "Disappear."

Musabori changed form changing into his shikai.

"Hmm, who should I aim for? That guy? No... He's too weak. Oh well, an Admiral will do."

Hakai raised Musabori above his head, swinging it down at Admiral Kizaru as a black slash went towards him.

Hakai's attack traveled through the air unnoticed by anyone until it neared Kizaru.

Kizaru dodged the attack turning into light. The attack caught the attention of everyone since currently it was a stand-off and Kizaru had just attacked Whitebeard but his attack was stopped by Marco.

Kizaru, and several people looked at where the attack came from seeing a giant floating ship flying through the sky and heading towards Marineford.

"I-I thought it was a lie, but it's true. That's Hiryo, the flying ship of the Dragon Pirates," a random pirate said.

Akainu stared at the floating ship. "So they did come."

"Scary, but since he attacked me first. Their captain will be my opponent," Kizaru said in his usual slow voice.

Kizaru transformed himself into light and flew through the air traveling towards Hakai's ship.

"He's pretty fast, huh," Hakai noted as he aimed the tip of Musabori towards Kizaru.

Hakai fired a black beam towards the flying Kizaru which traveled at a fast speed, but Kizaru dodged around the beam as he landed on the decks of the ship.

Hakai was about to swing his Musabori once more when he was interrupted by Hokori.

"Wait, captain. Please let me fight this admiral. I've been wanting to test myself against stronger opponents," Hokori asked him as he boarded the main ship.

Hakai lowered Musabori and nodded at Hokori. "Do as you want."

"Hey, hey. I wanted to fight the captain, not some savage caveman like you," Kizaru said.

"Caveman..." Hokori's eyebrows twitched. "I'll defeat you so bad you'll be considered a caveman after this."

"Really?" Kizaru asked. "Well, I do need to warm up a bit, so bring it on."

Hokori had a big grin on his face as he grabbed the giant wooden club strapped to his back.
