Seniority

Although there is no such official rank, my squad... yes, a real squad this time. My squad referred to me as a Junior Private. Now, what that meant was that any work which could be mine was mine. Nobody underneath me to assign tasks to.

I mean, I tried. I did the sergeant's requests first, then the corporal, and then the others, most of whom had two or so levels of various martial classes. But there just isn't time.

Oh, never let them know that you have a level in Manservant. Just don't.

There wasn't time. I mean, I polished everyone's boots and armor, the corporal gave me lists of things to forage for the stew-pot, and the others seemed to deliberately ignore wear and tear on their uniforms, making repairs my responsibility.

And the others assigned other tasks; for every task I didn't complete, they got to strike me once with their belt buckles. They took pride in striking the same areas until the scales were broken and they drew blood.
