Bloody Glade

Of the two hundred of us who had started this march, maybe one hundred forty or so were in fighting trim. I flagged the purchase of the [Health] sub-statistic, pumping my health score from twenty to thirty. Not much, but it could mean the difference between life and death.

Rather, instant death; I had no illusions of kindness if I were taken prisoner by the Kamajeen.

Second cousin or not, Mywin had the reputation of the royal bloodline to uphold. To him, it was a sacred duty to stop our advance here.

Rakkal, I think, was just there for the bloodshed. Since I had known him, he sought out those challenges that would press him the hardest. It was like the Axe System (or something more internal) was constantly pressing him for experience, for development points. To be better.

Academically, I have no fault with it.

I just... I kind of wish it didn't cost so many lives. And right then, I hoped it didn't cost my life.
