A god?

The orcs saw their comrades lying in their own puddles of blood and turned towards the two humans sitting in shock. They showed a menacing look and looked like they were ready to attack.

Aiden immediately ran away in fear of being killed by the orcs. He didn't say a word but only left Eli standing there petrified.

Aiden didn't even look back as he turned and ditched Eli. Only the faint silhouette of his back could be seen from afar. Abandoned by his only comrade and faced with a party of high ranked orcs, Eli knew he was going to die. His heart ached not in a heart broken way but in a 'I just got betrayed by a close friend' way. At the same time, he felt an explicable amount of anger building up inside of him. When he saw Aiden fighting the orc, he admired his friend and thought he was amazing, but now, Eli could only only think of Aiden as a coward.

Eli looked back to the orcs. He was so exhausted that he couldn't even lift a finger but mustered the last bit of strength he had. He reached out towards his sword before he was grabbed by one of the orcs by the leg. He dangled in the air as the orc used its other hands to pinch Eli's head. All of a sudden, the orc pulled on his leg until it ripped off, leaving blood and flesh dripping to the floor.

"ARRRRGH!"

Blood red flowed from the remains of his leg. Eli was in severe pain. Tears formed in the corner of his eyes when he muttered something under his breath, "Not again, I won't die this time either right? ...who am I kidding, I only have one leg left and I can't even crawl away."

"A poor soul, left to rot alone… Humans truly are pitiful."

The words rang in his head. The mysterious voice was smooth and mellow, like a melodic tune.

"W-who are you?"

"Don't worry about that boy, you'll find out soon. You know, you're quite an interesting human I must say. You don't seem to be from around here… never seen you around. Where are you from?", the voice replied.

"I… can't seem to remember."

"Too bad I guess... You seem entertaining so take this. Try to stay alive before we meet again!"

(Alarm! You have gained the skill Blessings of the God!)

Eli started to feel nauseous. His mind felt like it was splitting and his vision became blurry. The world before him began to spin. At last, his eyelids dropped and Eli fell unconscious.
