Mt Wallraine

The trees stood leaning against each other, under the luminescent sky as the great mountain loomed over them. Through the gaps of the trees, you could see the path leading to a cave. The entrance was dark and blocked by several DANGER signs. It was said to be a "no-return" place, the Wallraine dungeon. Many have attempted to claim the treasure within but only corpses were left to rot.

"So this is the place... ?"

"I heard it was creepy but this is way too much!"

"I agree."

The cave was pitch black and only the sound of water droplets could be heard. Eli felt a chill down his spine as they ventured further into the darkness when a door suddenly appeared near him. It was a sealed door which had a snake symbol imprinted on it. There was neither a knob nor a handle, only the snake symbol.

"How are we supposed to go inside?"

"Break the door open obviously", Eli smirked.

Aiden was confused. "...How?"

"Using my iron will!", he grinned in reply.

"Maybe you should use your head instead and calmly bang it on the door!"

" ..."

"Eli?"

"Y-yeah?"

"Look here."

There was a stone tomb alongside the door with the words 'Those who seek to fulfil their desires thoughtlessly will forevermore remain greedy. The greed within each human's heart cannot be erased nor forgotten. To pass beyond this border, search the reason why humans yearn for more than they already have.'

"The reason why humans yearn for more than they already have… what gibberish is this?"

Aiden glanced at Eli. "It's a riddle..."

"I knew that…"

As they thought to themselves, trying to decipher the riddle, goblins emerged from the shadows. They were bigger than the ones from Luwin, much bigger, each with a bloodthirsty look ready to pounce at any given moment.

"I was expecting this but what a pain...", Eli groaned.

"Let's go."

(Run for your life skill activated)

"I'm running. Let's go!"

"Wait what?!"

Aiden tugged Eli's collar just as he was about to run away, choking him.

"Oh no you don't."

"Damn it!"

(Dagger, appear)

The sounds of metal clashing echoed throughout the entire cave. It was dark making it hard to fight, though, it wasn't a problem for Eli. He learnt to listen to grunting sounds and footsteps the goblins made instead of relying on sight.

The goblins were defeated easily without hassle.

"So what do we do now?"

"Take their treasure."

"Where?"

Aiden sighed, "Behind you smart one..."

After defeating the monsters, a treasure chest appeared behind Eli. It was made of wood and had a platinum lining around the edges. An open lock hung limply from the chest with only a snake insignia carved into it.

They opened the chest to reveal a pile of gold, jewellery and an assortment of weapons. It shone brightly into Aiden and Eli's eyes, illuminating the darkness. Eli picked up the lock from the chest, glancing at the snake with a suspicious gaze when he suddenly thought of something.

"Wait... Greed… treasure, shouldn't we offer it to the door?", Eli cried out.

"And why is that?"

"I don't know… I just feel like the snake is going to eat me up if I don't offer the treasure… ", Eli shivered.

"Oh whatever, I can't think of anything else anyways."

Eli and Aiden both carried the treasure chest towards the door, placing it carefully in front of the snake. They backed away from the door until finally the snake became alive. It slithered down the door and swallowed the treasure.

"It took the treasure!", Eli grinned.

"But the door still isn't open."

"Maybe if we offer more things to it... it'll eventually open."

"Let's hope so."

For nearly an hour, they continued fighting relentlessly but no matter how much treasure they gave the snake, the door wouldn't open.

"Why?!"

Eli banged the door with his barefoot out of frustration. They lay on the floor panting from all the fighting as they thought about how to open the door.

"We.. still have our weapons…", Eli mumbled.

Aiden jumped up. "You're not thinking of actually offering it are you?"

"We don't have a choice!"

"But how are we going to fight?!"

"We can't fight if we can't even enter the dungeon!"

The boys argued back and forth until finally Aiden agreed. They swallowed their last bit of pride before handing over their weapons, carefully placing it on the ground in front of the snake once again. The snake emerged, taking their weapons, the only thing they had left. Light formed around the snake when the stone tomb glowed, replacing the riddle with the words 'Human greed is a thing to fear, because you never know how far they'll go for it. To protect? To save? No matter the reason, without power you cannot do anything.'

The iron-bound door swung open, revealing a dimly lit maze with red-clay bricks as walls on each side.

"I-it… worked?"aiden stuttered, surprised.

(Alarm! You have gained a claymore sword!)

"A claymore what now?", Eli accidently said out loud.

The sword was silver, its blade sharp and long, completely different from the dagger. The hilt was obsidian black and stretched out to swirl around the handle. On the bottom was an engraving of the snake insignia. The sword felt comfortable for Eli as if it was made just for him.

"So we both got swords huh?"

Through the tunnels, sounds of metal clashing resounded once again. The further into the dungeon Eli and Aiden went, the more powerful the monsters were. By the time they reached the bosses room, they were covered in cuts and bruises, injuries from the earlier battles. They sat down to lean against the wall to rest, however, were interrupted by a pair of orcs that appeared out of nowhere. They were way bigger than the goblins although they had no armour. The monsters loomed over them making Eli shiver in fear.

"Can we run away yet? Because I did not sign up for this."

"I wish... but we need to do this for Eve."

Aiden charged in first with his new sword, gripped tightly in his hand. His first swing was a miss, resulting in a punch in the stomach from the orc. The sword clattered onto the floor as he flew into the wall.

"Aiden!"

"I'm fine… I think, wait... maybe one or two ribs are broken", he groaned in pain.

"So you are fine."

Eli charged towards the orc with his sword, aiming for its head but they reacted quickly, punching Eli to the wall where he slid to the ground next to Aiden. Hunching over, Eli started to cough out blood. He slowly tried to get up, picking up his sword once more. Blood was splattered all over his dirty white shirt and was dripping from the corners of his mouth.

"Damn you!", grunted Eli.

He got up once again, aiming for the neck. This time the sword pierced through the orc's skin. As soon as the blade went through, Eli slid the sword across the neck, creating a deep slit.

"Aaaaaaargh!"

As the orc screamed in pain, Eli pulled the sword out of its neck and retreated. The blood started to gush out from the wound, creating a puddle of blood as it fell to its knees. The other orc continuously tried to grab Eli but Aiden swiftly got up and sliced it's arm off.

"You fend off the other orc, I'll deal with this guy", Aiden shouted.

Eli looked towards his opponent and smirked. He gripped the sword and charged again, stabbing into the same wound until the orc's neck was almost cut off. The scene was gruesome but Eli and Aiden kept fighting. They were sweaty and their movements became less focused. Even so, they kept attacking in fear of knowing they could die. Eli's continuous movement caused his wound on his torso to open. Just as he landed his last hit, the orc fell into its own puddle of blood.

As Aiden retreated, he noticed Eli's wound. "You should take care of that, I'll finish off this one."

Eli slumped as he leaned against the wall, ripping out a piece of his clothing to wrap around his wound. He watched Aiden jumping from the orc's body and stabbing its eye. Aiden held on as it began to swing its body around, trying to throw him off. Eli grabbed his sword and threw it to Aiden which he caught and used to stab the orc's other eye. It fell down to its knees, screaming in pain. Quickly, Eli tightened the piece of clothing around his wound and ran towards the orc. He took the sword from its eye and started to slice off the orc's neck with the last of his strength. At last, it's head fell onto the floor with a loud THUMP and rolled around like a ball.

"We did it!", Eli exclaimed.

During their little celebration, another group of orcs emerged from the shadows.

"You have to be kidding me!"
