Bad Luck, Again 1

Like a tattletale she was, Ouyang Xueqing told her Imperial Father everything that the shaman had told her as she munched on her cakes.

She didn't realize that Wang Ze's expression were getting heavier as her story went.

This was sugar ice cakes, ah! Sugar ice itself were made from the ice from the inner are of Forbidden Ice Mountain and thus were imbued with a bit of qi, making it hard to melt.

When one ate sugar ice cake, the cold yet sweet flavor with soft pound cake were so delicious that she couldn't get enough. Furthermore, it could made one's body feel refreshed and relaxed. It was such a luxury that only the Imperial Family could taste it.

"What do you think the shaman meant, Imperial Father?"

Wang Ze eyed her daughter's bulging cheeks and poured her a glass of warm water. "Drink first, you glutton."

"Hehe." She gulped readily and stuffed one more cake into her mouth.

"Slowly, This Lord had ordered the servant to pack it for you to take home. There were still dozens of them in the kitchen."

Hearing this, Ouyang Xueqing's smiled blossomed like she was the happiest girl in the whole universe. Her smile were so blinding and beautiful that it could melt the hardest heart.

Even Wang Ze couldn't help but pinched her soft cheeks and squished it. "Tankhh goo!" She said incoherently yet adorably.

"About the shaman…" Wang Ze rubbed her head. "Remember his words, it should be useful someday."

"But, Imperial Father, Qing'er doesn't understand ah! Does it mean that there will be a day when I am backed into a corner? With no way out? How could it be?" She clung into the Emperor's arm and batted her eyelashes cutely. "Didn't I have Imperial Father here with me? With Imperial Father here, what should Qing'er be afraid of?"

Wang Ze sighed. Even though she was silly and adorable, but she was so pampered that he was scared that someday…if the shaman's words came true and she would be in the most dangerous situation, what should she do if there's no one there for her?

His heart sank immediately.

"Just…remember it." He was sure that the shaman's word couldn't be so simple.

"Okay okay. Qing'er will do as Imperial Father said!"

"Good girl." Wang Ze smiled slightly. "If your mother ask, don't tell her about the shaman's divination. This Lord feared that she would be too worried and it's not good for her."

"Hmm." Ouyang Xueqing nodded. "Qing'er knows. Mother's health hasn't been good lately, better not tell her something so superstitious. Qing'er will just vent about the person that make my luck so bad! Imperial Father, the shaman said that he's strong, so when the time comes, Imperial Father will help Qing'er took her revenge, okay?"

Wang Ze laughed. "This Lord promise. But, Qing'er, we as the member of Beast Clan shouldn't be afraid of anyone, okay? Furthermore if he's a human!"

"Humph! Humph!" Ouyang Xueqing harrumphed arrogantly. "Who said I'm scared? I just…I just want to give Imperial Father a chance to help Qing'er do something!"

"Okay, okay." Wang Ze guffawed out loud, scaring the servant nearby that never heard of their Lord's loud laughter. "This Lord will thank Qing'er in advance then."

She laughed happily even knowing that what she spoke was utter nonsense, yet her daughter-slave Imperial Father just kept on indulging and pampering her.

Sigh, it was one thing that she had back luck, yet she just received so many love from the people around her that she thought that it was one of the way for God to repay her.

After all, she was not a sinner, right? It's logical for God to take pity on the adorable her, right?

Just then, a servant hurriedly approached. Just one look and Xueqing had recognized him as the servant of the shaman's courtyard. He looked panicked and pale with fear, drops of sweat were glistening on his forehead. His body trembling and he seemed ready to die as his steps bring him closer to them.

"My Lord!" He kneeled abruptly and banged his forehead on the ground, kowtowing with such a huge sound that just listening to it made her grimaced. Blood were seeping from his open wound, but he kept on kowtowing as if he didn't feel the pain. "Forgive this servant! Please have mercy!"

Wang Ze frowned. "What's the matter?"

Hearing his heavy tone, the servant trembled more, he even started stammering. "The…The shaman…disappeared!"

"What?!" Both Wang Ze and Ouyang Xueqing were stunned.

Disappeared? The beautiful shaman?

"Yes…Yes, My Lord. We…we had just wanted to serve the esteemed guest lunch, but when we knocked upon his door, it was empty! Please have mercy, it was this servant's fault for not noticing!"

Wang Ze stood up and his frowned grown deeper. "How could someone disappear from his room without anyone noticing? Did someone sneak an attack on him in This Lord's palace?" He murmured as he turned toward the kneeling servant. "Was there anything suspicious?"

Thinking of this conjuncture, even he couldn't help but felt his heart sank. What if the shaman had gotten into an accident in their Beast Mainland? How could he take responsibility for this offense?

The servant shook his head so hard he could have gotten a whiplash. "No, My Lord! It was…completely silent, that's why—we thought the shaman was resting and dare not disturb him."

He unconsciously sighed in relief. That's good. As long as the esteemed shaman didn't get injured in their territory, anything else was fine.

But then he was wondering again, what would be the reason of the shaman's disappearance?

At that time, a tiny and plump hand reached out and tugged on his sleeve. "Imperial Father. Imperial Father, Qing'er felt like the shaman had left on his own accord." It was such a pity though, she had planned to get to know him more.

Who hadn't wanted to made friends with such a beautiful person? Who knows, maybe he could felt compassionate for a moment and took her as sworn sister? She was so adorable, who could resist her?

Surely, if a certain someone with silver hair were to know this little brat's thought, he would feel so infuriated that he almost puked blood. Made friends with him? Furthermore, sworn siblings? Which brat didn't fear death and dared to take him as a friend and brother?! Who in this universe would dare?!

Asking for a curse!

"He left?" Wang Ze blinked. Right, why didn't he thought of that possibility? He eyed his foster daughter proud look suspiciously. "How do you know that?"

"Imperial Father, think about it. He is the God's servant, ah! If he wanted to leave, who could made him stay? He was so powerful that he could have just snapped his fingers and disappeared."

He still wasn't convinced. "Why didn't he tell This Lord? This Lord could have thrown him a parting bouquet."

Ouyang Xueqing rolled her eyes. "Imperial Father, do you hear yourself? You said it, if he had told you, you would have thrown him a bouquet. The shamans were originally mysterious and elusive, they didn't like to have their identities spread. That's why he vanished without telling anyone. Trust Qing'er, Imperial Father, Qing'er is sure of this!"

"Hmm, it make sense…" Wang Ze nodded. He then rubbed the little girl's head adoringly. "Qing'er is so smart ah, to be able to analyze for This Lord is commendable!"

Of course Ouyang Xueqing wouldn't miss this opportunity to bootlick the man as she blinked cutely. "Of course, Imperial Father is so awesome, how can Qing'er lose?"

The Emperor laughed, tension left his body and sweetness filled his heart. He waved his hand to dismiss the servant and ordered for the sugar ice cakes to be brought out.

Then, he held the girl's hand and sent her off toward where the General's carriage had been waiting for a while.

"Remember what This Lord told you."

She nodded and waved. "Qing'er knows. Don't worry, Imperial Father. Goodbye, Qing'er will come and visit later again!"

"Be careful on the way. Did you bring your life-saving talismans?"

"Yeah." She pouted as she reached onto her sleeves and pulled out a bunch of yellow paper. "It's all here."

"Okay, go."

Ouyang Xueqing turned and run toward her mother that had been waiting anxiously. Behind her, Wang Ze stood with his hand clasped behind his back, his golden robe and crown imposing, his look unreadable as he stared at the diminishing little girl.

The strange feeling were gnawing on his heart since then. No matter how he thought, it seemed impossible, but yet, his gut feeling were telling him that it's true.

And for a beast, their gut feeling were most often reliable as their instinct had been their strongest point since ancient times.

But why?

Why…did he have a peculiar thought that the silver-haired shaman came here just for Qing'er?

He shook his head slightly, heaved a sigh and turned back.

He must have thought too much into it.
