A few months passed by in a blink of an eye.
During those times, Ouyang Xueqing's right eye remained blue and blind. It was kinda okay because they were beasts and that kind of eye, although never seen before, was that of a beast's.
It was just that such an abnormality was never seen before.
The beasts had always had the abilities to control their form freely, it was their basic skill after reaching adulthood.
A child beast couldn't stay in his beast form because he hadn't mastered the art of controlling their true form, their attributes and true abilities were sealed and only their strong and sturdy body remained.
It was until one reached fourteen years old that a beasts underwent heavenly lightning to receive tribulation and advanced onto adulthood. At that time, the pure heaven energy was absorbed to unshackle the seals and unlocked their true forms, unleashing their true prowess to their peak ability.
A beast was complete when they had successfully overcome heaven's tribulation. Furthermore, every child beasts never failed because their strong body acted as defense and shield against the thunderous lightning, allowing them to advance smoothly.
That's why, Ouyang Xueqing's right eye was seen as something mystical.
Her true form was seen before the heavenly tribulation came. In addition to that, she couldn't control it at all. It was indeed an anomaly and no physician could come out with any result.
At first, she was slightly depressed. But with her bubbly and tenacious personality tempered throughout the years confronting her bad luck, Ouyang Xueqing rapidly recovered.
It's just that…she had started to lock herself in her room, mainly practicing and building her strength in preparation of the adulthood ceremony aka heavenly tribulation.
With her bad luck, there was no way that nothing would happened on that life-turning event, that's why she wanted to prepared herself so that she could react accordingly.
That afternoon, she was lounging on the her courtyard and sunbathing after a day full of practice when suddenly two huge figures loomed above her.
She was startled. "You scared me ah!" Puffing a breath, she patted her chest while glaring at the two villainous person.
One had an unruly smirk, while the other maintained his soft and gentle look that could swooned every young girl's heart.
"An Zhengnan! Ren Yupei! What do you want?" She looked at them guardedly. Certainly, she had learned from her previous experience. There were never good news when they came to her, either they came to make fun of her or playing pranks on her then laughed at her misfortunes.
Well, it was mainly An Zhengnan though. Ren Yupei were often most standing on the sideline and smiled gently.
Ouyang Xueqing always ran to him for help here and then. He was her shield, protector, and most beloved brother.
An Zhengnan whisted: "Princess, you look fabulous as always with your different eye colors. It's cute!" He even gave two thumbs up.
Ouyang Xueqing stared at him suspiciously. What else did he planning about? He couldn't have eaten the wrong medicine right?
Ren Yupei shoved him aside and smiled. "Princess, do you not remember what day it is?"
She pursed her poutish lips and wondered. What day is it? Is there something special? She couldn't remember ah! "It isn't Imperial Father's birthday, is it?"
The duo looked at her strangely and answered simultaneously. "No."
"Princess, The Lord will be so upset if he knew that you forgot his birthday!"
"Shut up!" She glared. "You think no one will think you're mute if you don't speak? Humph! Of course I remember Imperial Father's birthday, I was just testing you!"
An Zhengnan grinned as he answered sloppily: "Yes yes."
"Do you not believe me?"
"Believe. Of course we believe you." But their expression said otherwise.
Hmph! She was magnanimous so she would not stooped to their level and argued with them. "So, what day is it?"
An Zhengnan snickered and clicked his tongue mockingly. "It's such a pity that you don't even remember the day that all the woman in the Beast Mainland has been waiting for. Are you even a girl? Or are you a boy all this time?!"
Ouyang Xueqing pretended that a fly had buzzed beside her. She turned surprisingly toward Ren Yupei.
Her eyes brightened, especially the clear bright blue and golden slits that stood out especially so for their unusual traits, coupled with her black and round left pupils, she certainly looked mesmerizing albeit a little otherworldly.
"Is it the Flower Viewing Festival?"
"Yes." Ren Yupei replied, his eyes soft and tender as he gazed at the girl. Even Ouyang Xueqing had to summon all her willpower to prevent her heart fluttering as he smiled.
He had certainly deserved the rank number one of 'The List of Every Girl's First Love' in the Beast Mainland's popular magazine.
He was handsome, gentle, wealthy, smart and to top it off, he was the Emperor's right hand man!
"We came to ask you to go with us. Do you want to?"
She nodded almost immediately, spellbound by his refreshing look. She was such a sucker for beautiful things ah!
"Of course, if it's Brother Ren, Qing'er will certainly go with you!" She giggled and replied gleefully.
"Good. Let's go, Princess. Don't stray too far away from me, okay?" Ren Yupei offered his hand which she received readily. It was huge, warm and comforting, just like how a big brother would feel like.
Poor An Zhengnan the ultimate third wheel was soon forgotten. "Me! Me! What about me?"
Ouyang Xueqing ignored him and raised his head to look at Ren Yupei while admiring his beautiful side profile. "What about your work? Aren't you busy?"
"Nope. The Lord has granted us permission to take you out to play."
Ouyang Xueqing sighed. "Imperial Father really dotted on me ah! He actually let two of his top subordinates to play with me!"
"Yeah, if The Lord isn't swamped with work, he will come with you too, Princess." Ren Xupei chuckled slightly.
She glanced at the tall and slender figure holding her hand, shielding her from the afternoon sun. His hair was swaying gently along the wind, the edges of it was shining under the sunset glow. His chiseled jaw was more define than ever.
He had such a sharp look yet his demeanor was so gentle that he looked slightly harmless. It was such a perfect front though for she knew that this man had a great strength that the beast that could surpass him could be counted in one hand.
Suddenly, she had the mood to tease him. She exclaimed cheekily. "Brother Ren, in the future, will you marry Qing'er?"
